    Neuro Texas
I highly recommend the one neurosurgeon that I have been blessed with…, the AMAZINGLY GIFTED AND TALENTED neurosurgeon Dr. Mark G. Burnett. He is not only brilliant and experienced, but equally as important; is faithfully “patient-centered” and truly trustworthy. He performed a very necessary anterior cervical fusion in my cervical spine which had serious spinal stenosis and a little more to repair. When my husband and I met with Dr. Burnett, we were not only pleasantly surprised, but humbly appreciative of the fact that he discussed all of his findings in reviewing my medical records/imaging/labs...etc... , no doubt, my family and I agree that his actions speak volumes in regards to the true care and loyalty for his patient’s. He covered everything with great “attention to detail”. He answered all of our questions/concerns. The surgery was a success! At present, I continue to be under Dr. Burnett’s care, I am pending a second surgery for a removal of a cyst in my L-5 and repairs..., we are so grateful for his ongoing patience and commitment in improving my quality of life. He continues to provide the utmost quality patient care. His staff/team at Neurotexas are very organized, professional, kind and patient in providing wonderful ongoing quality care. On a final note, the day of my surgery, when Dr. Burnett went to update my husband and our four adult children (two univ. grads and 2 undergrad), meeting him for the very first time, they stated…, “Mom, we are so grateful to know that you are in very good hands. We can tell, Dr. Burnett really cares about you!”. I smiled and just humbly stated, “Yes, God+ is good, God+ is very good, He+ only provides “the best”.

Premier Health MD - Dr. Melissa Miller
Premier Health is a very good concierge medical service. I was using her service for testosterone treatments and general health matters. The only reason why I stopped is because wife and I are trying to have a baby and testosterone treatments can hinder reproduction in men. I used Dr. Miller's Premier Health for over a year. I am more sensitive to small business and customer service matters since I own a serviced based company myself. Dr. Miller is a competent doctor that is doing her best to serve the community with her expertise and maintain all the moving parts of a small business. She gives all her patience / clients / customers her personal cell phone. She responds as soon as she can. Personally, this would drive me "nuts". There's a large swath of the community that want pain meds and feel having a personal doc on speed dial / text message is a pretty great. She needs to evaluate request of hundreds of people that have paid for personalized care. It must be a balancing act to keep clients and tell them "no" for their prescription of choice. Dealing with the general public is pretty hectic, throw in dozens of entitled drug addicts would be difficult to say the least. Her office staff is great. Her medical assistant Myra is cool and does her best to serve the community as well. The answering company can be a little frustrating at times. Some communication systems could possibly be improved with a few technology tweaks. I'm sure as the business grows systems will improve. Premier Health MD is a luxury doctor's office with coffee, sofa, snacks and friendly receptionist to chat with while you're waiting for doctor or assistant. If you are a man wanting testosterone treatments this is by far the best deal around. Once my wife has a baby in her belly I'll be back. Thanks Doc Miller. Keep up the good work!

Hamilton Vein Center - Round Rock
The physician and nurses were very nice but dealing with the front office and billing were a pain. The cost out-of-pocket was NOT what they quoted, it was much more. I thought it would be a one-time procedure for my one leg, but it took two more visits, more money, and it still is purple. Scheduling the procedures in a timely manner was very difficult and it took 4 requests to billing to send procedure codes for my insurance. They, evidentially, have only one person working in billing for all their locations. Getting a hold of her was impossible! I'd look elsewhere for your care to avoid the headaches.

    Downtown Doctor
Dr. Freeman's nurse informed me before I filled out her lengthy intake forms that they accepted my insurance. Dr. Freeman was cheerful and clearly willing to prescribe anything, and I had an idea of what I wanted and preferred the short call, so I was ok with the fact that she asked fewer questions than a drug dealer might. Uppers, downers, it's clear that she is there to give you whatever you want and a more thorough approach would be time consuming. After my second visit, I was given a strong arm request for a credit card by James at the front desk. I informed him that I had full coverage insurance and was told on intake when I submitted photos of both sides that my insurance was accepted. My insurance company informed me that they had allowed their validation with my insurance company to expire a year prior, so their claim was denied. The amount they attempted to bill the insurance company was shocking, $344 for a 15 minute zoom call. The billing department then informed me that they had "worked it out" somehow, and "not to worry" and "to go ahead with my next visit, it's on them". I later learned that they apparently did this by listing some other nurse in the same office who did have her certificate? Not entirely sure. So I saw her again, and again, another embarrassing strong arm demand for a credit card by James at the end, not the beginning, of the call. I spent yet another hour on the phone with my insurance company and added that nurse as my primary practitioner, which cleared all the past billing issues, and again, thought I'd solved the problem. Immediately before my last call with her, I was flatly informed by James that the person they had listed no longer worked there and again, asked for a credit card. I told them that they hadn't given me any notice of a change in their insurance situation for a visit I obviously had to cancel and I requested that they please refill my prescriptions as a courtesy to give me time to find another doctor. Georgeanne got on the phone with me, and in a conversation that took longer than any visit we'd ever had or a call to the pharmacy might have, she argued with me that she was "running a business" and was "here to make money", so she wouldn't "call in a prescription for free", but I could give her a credit card. For a woman who doesn't bother to talk long or take much interest in the best interest of the patient, she will certainly devote a lot of time to an argument. She is clearly without concern for the welfare of her patient, but she is a willing drug dealer if that is what you need. She will prescribe uppers or downers in any amount you like, and you might find that very useful. I imagine with a bit of stomach churning that this review might actually make her more popular for that reason, but this is the most honest account I can give. Her billing department is comedically inept and I certainly wouldn't take their word that they accept your insurance. I would call to confirm directly or you might spend that time you saved with Georgeanne on the phone with your insurance company and their billing department and field a lot of humiliating and suspiciously timed shakedowns for a credit card. Much like any dealer, in her own words, she's a business woman, and she is there to get paid.

    Texas Orthopedics
Had a Total Knee Replacement by Dr. David Savage on my Right Knee done on September 11th, 2018. This was done at St. David’s Hospital in South Austin. The results to date have been remarkable. It has been three weeks since my surgery and I am walking without the aid of a walker or cane and can drive my car. I can take care of all my personal needs and am remarkably pain free. I am currently doing out patient physical therapy and continue to make steady progress. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. David Savage to anyone needing a knee replacement. He is an expert in his field........Mike Wiltz

    David Savage MD
I was referred to Dr. Savage by my primary care physician. I am in my mid 60s and have leg / knee pain. It seems that I have a torn meniscus, a small benign tumor and arthritis. Dr Savage and his technician Leah Urtado were very respectful and courteous. He explained everything to me in detail, recommended against surgery at this time, and suggested a cortisone injection into my knee. I expected that to hurt a lot. He assured me it wouldn't - and he was right. They spray a topical on the knee, wait a few seconds then slowly inject the cortisone along with a numbing agent. It takes about 30 seconds so that the numbing agent deadens ahead of the cortisone. I barely felt the initial *****, then the next thing I felt was the bandaid going over where the injection took place. The relief was immediate. Although this injection will only last for some months, I actually look forward to going back when I need to. The "bedside manner" of these folks was wonderful, and I felt entirely at ease with them. After listening to others tell me about their injections done by other docs, I should call Dr. Savage "magic man". I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Savage.

    Austin Urogynecology, PLLC
Dr Shashoua and his staff were wonderful. The surgery took 6 hours, but recovery went well. He prescribed medication to counteract the constipating effect of the narcotic pain killers, and that was a great relief (pardon the pun). Up and around in one week, off the narcotics in less than a week. 100% satisfied and pleased.

GREAT!!! Brannan Smoot, MD and his crew at Texas Orthopedics = excellence, intelligence, expertise, skill, empathy and integrity personified. I am 100% certain that Dr. Smoot, Mike PA, Frankie, Brenda, ... and all the fine folks at Texas Orthopedics truly care about each and every patient as they provide them top-notch medical and/or surgical services then patiently lead by example each one as they guide them on their (sometimes long) journey to completely — “Recover, Heal, Excel!” Perfect motto for TxO, Dr. Smoot, et al!!! Love them, one and all, but especially Dr. Smoot who saved me from a lower leg amputation or lifelong debilitating pain. As of today, I am again perfectly capable of painlessly walking this Earth on BOTH of my feet! I am in total awe of him and forever indebted! My hero!!!

    Smoot, Dr. J Brannan
Dr. Smoot is the best physician/surgeon in the whole wide world in my book. He worked so hard over the past year+ to make me whole again following a foot and ankle injury complicated by an underlying health issue which, in turn, prevented proper healing and was undiagnosed at the time of surgery. Following an ankle and subtalar fusion, I was plagued with unexplained debilitating pain for well outside the normal post-op timeframe/window. At that point Dr. Smoot and Mike/PA began to rein me in a bit closer, stuck by and encouraged me - never once expressing even a hint of doubt in me or my symptoms, including times when even I’d begun to doubt my own self and worthiness. Together they tenaciously tried solve the puzzle I presented in order to help me heal and feel better. I could actually see my pain in their eyes as they watched me hobble into the exam room. Never once did my questions or requests go unanswered or addressed - and, believe me - Dr. Smoot’s support staff received many long-winded emails from me via their patient portal. All communications were answered promptly, articulately and professionally - frequently with an added sweet personal touch of empathy &/or concern. Ultimately, after ordering a bunch of tests, Dr. Smoot diagnosed the underlying condition which interferes with proper healing. He was then surgically able to address and fix it = PERFECTLY! Dr. Smoot’s expertise and skill in performing that revision surgery very likely saved my lower leg from amputation and, for that and his sweet tenacious care I will be forever indebted to, and in awe of, him. NIH website states the revision technique Dr. Smoot performed requires expertly trained surgical skills due to greater inherent risks involved on multiple levels (it’s a tricky operation, in other words) but NIH also definitely recommend it in situations like mine in order to increase the odds of proper healing with good long-term outcomes. When faced with another surgery and long recovery, I already knew Dr. Smoot was an expert orthopedic sub-specialist - fellowship trained in foot and ankle (plus knee, Sports Med...), obviously very smart and more than capable of doing the surgical revision he offered as an option. All that plus he’s also such a humble, kind, thoughtful man in whom I had, and will always have, complete trust. So, with great confidence, my husband and I didn’t hesitate in going through it all again, certain that if anyone could fix me up, Dr. Smoot was the man who could, would and did! So, I never even considered going elsewhere (why would I?) and never will should needs arise again. Smoot is quite simply THE BEST - as is Mike Fields, PA + staff and all the wonderful caring people at Texas Orthopedics. I dearly love and shall never forget any of them. Intelligence, skill, empathy and integrity personified - that’s what you’ll find with Dr. Smoot and his crew at Texas Orthopedics as you “Recover, Heal, Excel!” ...<-Their perfectly suited motto!!!
