    The Deck and Patio Company
The Deck and Patio Company built us a wonderful outdoor space. Our project was precipitated by the rotting out of a critical beam in our upstairs master bedroom balcony. Martin Sullivent worked with us to not only replace the failed balcony, but to redesign it to incorporate an adjacent pergola, complete with fireplace, stone planters, sidewalk, and pony wall. In working with him over the ensuing months, we became impressed by his attention to detail and his concern for quality of craftsmanship. Our patio faces a slope down to a lake shore, and Martin's team poured a structural foundation for our patio to guarantee against erosion and sinking. The beams of the pergola are solid and sturdy, lending not only an attractive appearance, but also strength and durability. His team carefully designed placement of our fireplace in the corner of our patio to enhance and complement the view of the lake. During the design phase of the project, Martin encountered constraints resulting from the existing structure. For example, the rise between our existing patio and the patio door jamb was insufficient to allow for pavers. Martin worked with us to present alternatives that would meet our objectives, such as leaving the surface as brushed concrete, staining the concrete, or doing a stamped concrete overlay; we opted for the latter. In each case, Martin was careful to share with us the pros and cons of the various solutions. Every time we have a party, it's a BLAST! (we do it often) and we love having people over because they all enjoy it as much as we do. We strongly recommend the Deck and Patio Company to people looking to invest in a quality project to enhance their outdoor living experience.

James responded promptly and we were given an estimate in less than 24 hours. He gave us great suggestions on how the job could be done. He was experienced and insightful in both the technical and aesthetic aspects of the job. He was courteous, on time, and cleaned up at the end of job. He even took the extra time to correct preexisting flaws in our brick porch. It looks fantastic and we are very pleased! This is how business should be done, thank you James!

    Advanced Curb Appeal
This is an engineered wall which is intended to preserve the clay pad upon which our home was constructed.  The home is on a downhill slope.  The contractor respected all manufacturer recommendations regarding installation.
The crew seemed seasoned, both in terms of the type of work, and also as a working team.  The management partners are hands on participants and spent every day on site.
The project included not only hardscaping, but also plumbing and electrical aspects.  The crew seemed comfortable performing the required tasks.
We found the guys to be pleasant to have around.  Given that the blocks weigh about 50 lbs each, the temperature was as high as 105, and the work surface challenging, the cheerful smiles were actually something of a miracle.
We had agreed generally on the wall design, but left many design decisions up to them.  We are very pleased with the aesthetics of the final product.  Their instincts are good.
Our greatest frustration was probably with regard to communication and scheduling, BUT this job was booked during the most rainy Spring on record, and the installation took place over a 2.5 week period when temps were above 100 every day.  That at
least partially explains the delayed start and the longer than expected execution.  At those temperatures, a break is required after about every 20 minutes of labor.
The above concerns are offset by the fact that because management is on-site, feedback is immediate and there are no communication problems during the project execution.

    Emz masons
The brick step repair went well, but when they performed the pressure washing portion of the project it launched debris up onto my home.  I attempted to wash it off but have been mostly unsuccessful.  I have contacted the company several times, but am unable to get through to them, and they are unresponsive (I have left several requests via their website and their voicemail box is full).

Danny and his father did an outstanding job.  They did exactly what they said they would do and the finished product looks amazing.  They were trustworthy and hardworking.  I had zero qualms about leaving them unattended in my home while I was away at work.  I have some future projects involving stone work that I will most definitely be contacting them for. I would recommend them to anyone looking for fair pricing and quality, honest work.

    Seek Design & Renovation
Great craftsmanship, especially with the slab and brick work. Work was completed in a timely manner. Construction team was courteous. We hit a few bumps and snags, but Don was quick to make things right. Seek Design was not our least expensive quote, but you get what you pay for.

    Guardian Chimney Sweep
Booking was a breeze, the provider worked within our hectic schedules which was really nice.  We had a clogged chimney that had bellowing smoke all over our house and was creating a HUGE mess.  Within 30 minutes or less Guardian Chimney cleaned out years of smoke and ash left by the previous owners and even told us of possible dangers to look for in our fireplace.  They said just pick up some mortar from Lowes and patch up a tiny crack in the back instead of having a repair man come out.  I really appreciated their honesty and money saving tips.  Our house was left clean and the Chimney worked better than the day we moved in!

He was good. He came out in bad weather and I walked around with him. He had a couple of younger helpers with him. He told me when he was going to get here. He got here when he planned. He told me about how long it was going to take. He did a good job. He worked on the area we wanted to be replaced and cleaned up well. I thought it was a good value for both of us. He finished when he said it would be done. I'd call him back if I wanted some brick work done. He did know what he was doing. The price was fair. He is a good contractor and I would encourage Angie's List to keep him on the list.

Danny did a great job for us on our stone walkway!  He made sure we were on the same page throughout the project and it turned out just as we had hoped.  Even more surprisingly, he started on the date he said he would and finished on time - if you've worked with other contractors, you know this is often not the case. Both Danny and his dad were always polite and concerned that we were happy with their work as the project progressed.  We are very pleased and will use EMZ in the future should the need arise!

    Reyes Masonry
Mr. Reyes came when he said he would, did what he was hired to do and charged what he quoted. Cleaned up once the job was completed. Very professional, friendly. Would use his services again and will recommend him to others without hesitation.
