Lawn Care reviews in Magnolia

NO CALL, NO SHOW!! The worst! When I called to find out why no one ever showed up or even bothered to call me they told me I was 're-scheduled' but I was never told about it. They offered to send someone out that day but if this is how they do business and are this unorganized I don't know if they could do a good job. Everyone's time is valuable and I try not to do business with companies that don't seem to care about it.

    Langley Lawn & Tree Service
I don't know who these folks are that have provided positive reviews for Langley Tree Service.  Kenneth is a nice enough guy. He's friendly and personable, but he is completely unreliable and unprofessional. After working with him on and off for over 2 years, trust me, my husband and I really know first-hand! When we hired him to maintain our yard, he actually made a comment that basically, our yard was the smallest that his crew had lined up. Our measly $75/bi-weekly job was small beans to him, and he told us to our faces that was the case.

He never put us on a regular, routine schedule, so we would have to call him every single time we wanted the yard done. We asked if we could set it up for every other week on a certain day, but he never did. When they did show up, the crew normally did an adequate job with the yard. When we complained to Kenneth once because they hadn't edged the driveway and had missed some spots while weedeating, he made sure they came by the next day to take care of it. There were occasions, however, when he promised the crew would come out that week, but they never showed up.

Kenneth had always talked with us about hiring him to grind several tree trunks on our property and to trim a huge red oak in our front yard whose branches were becoming very close to our second story roof.  In March of 2015, my husband met with him and they agreed, in addition to grinding the tree trunks and trimming the red oak, Kenneth would also trim a second tree in our front yard, cut down about 15 hedges lining the north and west fenceline of our property and grind the leftover stumps, and prune 3 crepe myrtle trees and 4 rose bushes for $1,350. My husband made the mistake of paying 100% to Kenneth up front.

Mr. Langley's crew came and cut down the 15 hedges and trimmed the two trees in the front yard. They pruned the crepe myrtles as well.  It has now been 15 months since we paid Mr. Langley for the job, and the 15 bush stumps remain, nice and ugly, along the fenceline.  The two tree trunks also remain as constant reminders in our yard. I finally gave up and pruned the rose bushes myself. My husband has made calls to Kenneth multiple times a month through May of 2016, asking when the remaining work will be done.  Kenneth has given him every excuse in the book in explanation - "I've been out of town", "I've been sick/in the hospital", "I had to fire my entire crew because they were using drugs", "The ground is too wet" (this has been used MULTIPLE times!), "My equipment is down".  You name it, we've heard it.  My husband called one last time last month to give Kenneth a final chance to make it right and complete the promised work.  Kenneth said that he would be out "sometime this week" to finish the work.  He never showed up.

Do yourself a favor.  Do not call Kenneth Langley for any tree or yard service work.

    Big Daddys Tree Service
The provider was bidding a job for my neighbor, and I asked if he would work on my trees.
He looked and said he could do it right then.
The trimmer put on his equipment, and climbed each tree, removing limbs as he ascended.
When at the top, he began to cut the tree into 3-4' logs, knocking them into a neat pile at the base of the tree. One of the trees was very large in a remote part of the yard, but he made short work of it.
Helpers moved the logs as he cut them down, and per our request, removed them from the residence.
When finished with all trees, they ground the stumps and left.
The price was really reasonable, and they were done within an hour from start to finish.
We will definitely use these guys again.

    Your Day Off Lawn Svc
Frank's crew has been doing my yard for over a year. They are fast and
efficient and go the extra mile, this week trimming back some stray tree
limbs. The yard always looks great when they finish.

    Texas Enviroscapes
April handled the scheduling and she was fantastic. We had to reschedule several times due to weather and she worked hard to get us on the calendar.
The guys were also very professional and our flower beds looked great.

The team did a great job and performed the work in a very satisfactory manner. They took the time to explain the details of the fertilizer they were using and did a great job of aerating the yard. I would definitely use Texas Enviroscapes again.

We've used the company in the past, and we've always had good experiences.  Scheduling was easy, they did a great job, and they cleaned up nicely before leaving.  Really, the only issue was that they covered up our sprinkler heads when laying the mulch, and we had to uncover them ourselves.

    Texas Enviroscapes
The initial visit with Mr. Clark and the quote went fine except it did not include the location of zones, valves, heads etc.  I Asked for and was promised a diagram of the quoted system.  Got a simple hand sketch two days before start of job showing approximate location of zones.  A sub-contract crew arrived as promised but the head man had no instructions from TexasEnviroscapes except that there would be 12 zones.  The sub-contractor, who understood but could not speak English well,  laid out the system on the fly which was fair at best.  The pipe that was delivered was the wrong size which required a call to the contractor.  The sub used a power trencher where there was no turf.  In the process, he cut the main water line to the house and a telephone cable in the easement, all of which were properly marked.  The sub finished the job in three days.  Did not leave anything behind that came with the equipment including a set of nozzles for each of the 30+ rotor heads --  the zones cannot be balanced without the nozzles.  They have been promised for weeks and in the meantime I'm still using a hose and sprinkler on the areas needing more water.

    Envy Exteriors Inc.

Envy Exteriors was pretty busy this summer, but we got on their schedule early, and I guess that's a good sign that they were in high demand. We had several meetings with Josh, Envy's landscape architect, to develop the plan. The plan had several phases, and included a summer kitchen and pool which we hope to have Envy complete later. Our house was built by Kurk homes, and we sub-contracted with Envy for the landscaping. They did the grade work on the lot, drainage system, sprinkler system, sod, bull rock, barriers, flagstone landing, moss rocks, mulch, shrubs, bushes, and flowers. The second phase was the exterior lighting. This consisted of 15, 10 degree LED Kichler lights on a low voltage transformer with a photo-electric timer. It looks really good.

Justin is the owner and personally supervised the entire operation. For a few days there were two crews (irrigation and landscaping) and over a dozen Envy employees working on our lot. They did a great job, and made several forward looking modifications to accommodate drainage from gutters that weren't even installed yet. We had a great experience working with Envy Exteriors, and we are very pleased with the finished product. We plan on using them in the future, and would recommend them to our friends.

    Riverside Lawn & Landscape
They're great. I have used them more than once. He's very good. That was a deal and that's what it costed. He did what he said he's going to do. It was a great experience. It was beautiful. They did a great job. In fact, I had plants sitting in pots and they planted them even though I didn't ask them to and it's probably not where I wanted them.
