    Went great.   While there were charges for the motion detector, the other costs to transition from the builder installed system to ST's cellular were minimal.   There was no contract and the rates are significantly lower than the Builder's preferred vendor to do the dame thing.   ST was responsive, the installer was professional and knowledgeable on the  system.  He provided orientation on the system.

    Prior security provider had told us that the system was worn out and needed upgrading.  We contacted Smith Thompson to change service provider on the recommendation of a friend.  I had explained the problem and requested they install a new system as required.  Smith Thompson technician came out and checked the existing system.  He found wiring problems in the panel, which he corrected and placed the existing system back into operation.  We have had no further problems, and saved considerable money over the cost of a new/upgraded system.  We also signed up for their monitoring service, as they are extremely competitive in monthly price and require no contract.  We have been very please with this company.  The pricing above includes pre paying for a full years monitoring service, which provided savings of one month monitoring costs. The Install service was about $200 (out of the $400), including wireless uplink.

    The staff and the owner of Computer Guy were very helpful in choosing the correct security system for my Business and my home. They gave me a package price for doing both locations. They saved me money compared to the other outfits that quoted the same systems. They were very neat and polite during the install and made sure we understood the systems features to be able to operate all the features. Would recommend to anyone looking to get a security system.

    It went well.  Very simple to install but they helped us all the way.
    There is a monthly fee of $43.00.  That seemed a little high but their service is well worth it.  I feel very secure.

    The installer, Lloyd Hovland,  kept in contact to tell us he would be running behind but was only a couple of minutes late.  He set up our new alarm system and explained how their service worked as well as going over the equipment and explaining how it could be used to best meet our needs.
    Lloyd answered all my questions and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable using the new system.

    I like the fact that their monitoring prices have been the same for many years. Around $17 per month for their monitoring services.
    I also liked the fact that there were no promotional gimmicks.  You buy your own equipment from them and then pay the monthly fee for monitoring.

    These guys are experienced and very professional. 
    It was obvious from the detailed questions they asked on the first visit, that they were thinking ahead on how to address installation obstacles that the other bidders did not even notice. Robert and his team, (a family operation) put it all in, got it all programmed and even had it working on our computers, TV's and phones in very short order. I was, and still am, very impressed with the picture quality on the cameras. Protech was the high bidder as they were the only company to quote an all digital system, but seeing the quality, there is no question, this was the right decision.
    It is awesome to be able to look at your phone and see live video of your house while you are away. It is also great to be able to search the video files to find what or who caused a disturbance in the middle of the night.
    Since the installation, a couple of technical problems have come up including a malfunctioning camera and a cell phone app that did not work after an upgrade.  In each instance Robert responded very quickly to my call and had us up and running again with minimal hassle.  Protech Communications customer service is very good.

    Only downside is the double sided tape on the pieces does not make a permanent fix to wall & have come loose. Ok if your in house but if door sensor comes loose while armed alarm will go off.

    It went very poorly.  The "back office" folks on the phone are probably most to blame  (sent the wrong technician to the old house--not qualified on our installation--more waste of our time) , but the installers leave a lot to be desired as well.  The work and equipment of the first installer at the new house had to be completely replaced by the second installer (third appointment at the new house).  My recommendation is that you look for another alarm company.  I have so much time invested with ADT, I will probably stick with them.  I cannot believe they are a vendor endorsed by USAA.  Please note that I am talking about service, or lack thereof, at BOTH of the addresses on this form.

    Installed high tech alarm system. Has touch screen keypad. Can set alarm with keypad, iPhone app, or computer. Sends email to homeowners when alarm armed and when disabled. Very user- friendly controls. Can have chime and/ voice, or silent when opening dorrs and windows. Excellent customer service as well as price for this setup.
