  • Robert was great to work with. He was very patient in explaining things and was a pleasure to work with. I recommended him to a friend and she also enjoyed working with him. I would definitely use this company again. A+

  • Darik and his team were very punctual and responsive. PMS worked a lot with me on differant options with quoting differant ways. They were very curtious and responsive. They worked very hard to make work as least evasive to the house as possible. They always checked in throughout work to ask if I had any questions and if I had any concerns. I would use them again for future work.

  • Derrick was excellent. I found him on Facebook and he was able to come out the same day I called. He was on time, knowledgeable, courteous and most of all, fast! Once he completed the job he cleaned up the workspace and even stuck around to walk through my home to discuss other projects I need to complete. His service, pricing and quality were so outstanding that I just booked him today to come out this weekend and finish out my media room! I can't say enough great things about DC Media. The prices are so reasonable I was blown away when he provided me estimates for the services we discussed. If you don't give him a chance you are crazy and missing out!

  • Darik is a miracle worker.  He basically came into our home and turn a blank canvas into a work of art.  Darik was very friendly, professional and great customer service.  He is a straight shooter.  He provided the best bang for the buck.  Darik has a great process.  He provided initial free pricing and provide details in regards to what I can afford and what I should do, in regards to getting the perfect media room setup. Darik provided expert advise and consultation in regards to what will be provided and worked on and how he will do the work.  He came on time to the job site and worked fast and carefully to install a work of art.  He installed 7.2 surround sound speaker system, professional looking projector that hangs from the ceiling.  All speakers throughout the home are in wall speakers.  In wall speakers look extremely professional and blends seamlessly with the home decor.  He also mounted several 60 inch TVs in the living room and bedrooms.  The mounted TVs appear as if they are floating on the wall.  He made sure that he TVs were level and no wires are in view.  The TVs appear as if they work magically.  I was very pleased with the end result.  The work that he has provided is now the pride of this home.  I like to show off my media room when guest come to the house.  You can see his work via this link

  • I paid for 2 hours so when they arrived I showed them the two areas and the material and he went right to work.  It was taking some time for the mud to dry so he left and came back twice.  He had to pick up one item and he had his receipt so I could reimburse him.  He only counted the time he was there and it didn't exceed the two hours.  Great job, quick and flexible.  I will definitely use them again.

  • This review is only on the installation of the projection. I was pleased with the pricing of my projector and as far as the sale itself I have no complaints. Furthermore, the cost of equipment is not included in the cost of service. Everything was going great up to the point that I decided to have Starpower install the projector.

The installer was able to come out just two days after I purchased the projector. My theater has a vaulted ceiling so I had informed them that I would need a drop mount to get the projector low enough. The installer told me that it wasn't necessary and that the projector would have enough lens shift that it wouldn't be an issue. He preformed the install and began getting the picture adjusted on the screen. The first problem came when he thought the unit was defective  because he couldn't get the lens to move far enough. I explained the problem to him that using lens shift on the horizontal plane will limit the amount vertical shift available. It concerned me that he was unaware of it, but I let it go. A few minutes later he accidentally hit a button on the remote and couldn't figure out how to fix the problem. His solution was to unplug the projector and immediately plug it back it. This is extremely bad for the bulb and is a great way to actually have the bulb burst. Finally he finished up (with the lights on) and left. Unfortunately I became busy with another situation and it wasn't until after they left that I got to look at the projector with the lights off. When the lights went out I found the image spilled over the screen and onto the wall. I ended up taking my ladder out and readjusting the projector, however it quickly became evident that the projector was mounted too high. While I managed to improve the problem, the projector wasn't (and couldn't be) level so the image was distorted.

I called the installer and they agreed to come back out that evening. When they came back out their solution to me was the use of keystone correction to fix the image. If you don't know, keystone correction is never the solution. Doing so harms image quality and reduces the resolution. I told them that keystone correction wasn't a solution and that it would need to be fixed properly. It took two weeks but ultimately they did come out and fix it right and now I'm very happy with my projector.

So where am I on all of this? The use of keystone correction really doesn't sit well with me. I installed everything in my theater and had never used an installer before. I only did in this situation because the idea of holding a 40 pound projector over my head didn't sound like a good time. Had I not known that keystone correction caused so many issues, I may well have kept my mouth shut and not known that they had not done a proper installation. Furthermore, I was put off that the installer didn't seem to have much knowledge when it came to projectors. The lens shift issue mentioned above is something that the installer should have known, it's one of those things that is going to affect every single projector (across all brands) that has both horizontal and vertical lens shift. Keystone correction in a home theater is never an acceptable solution. It bugged me that had I not known about home theater setup and installation, I would have had a improper setup without knowing anything was wrong.

Ultimately I'm somewhat torn on this review. In Starpower's defense their sales staff was great and I'm happy with the purchase I made. Their prices were competitive and when the problems did arise they were, for the most part, extremely responsive in working out a solution. I would consider buying electronics from Starpower again in the future, but I don't think I would consider them again for an installation in my theater.

  • They did great!
They installed my television and Sonos soundbar onto a brick wall which worked out great due to the limited space provided by the builder.
They also programmed the t.v. and soundbar along with my Direct TV and linked everything with my house wifi system.
They schooled me on how to add new Sonos speakers in the near future and how to control everything from my phone.
They provide all sorts of services by going above and beyond!

  • It was a little overpriced for the service.  They were on time, they were here the 1st hour of the time frame they gave.  They were professional.  They were done in great time, in and out in 45 minutes.  The speakers still work.  I would use them again only for the outdoor speakers.

  • My wife and just moved into a house and were a little perplexed as far as setting up our media room. I was told about 7 pixel by a friend who used them so I gave them a call. On schedule Justin and Jeremy showed up and got to work planning. My budget was around 10k and I definitely got my money's worth. They were able to install an HD projector system with 130" screen and surround sound... I would have no idea where the speakers were if Justin hadn't pointed them out. Seamless work without the tangle of wires I would have left. Also threw in a nifty universal remote to control everything. My wife and I were blown away when we cranked it on and watched a movie... Can't wait for Super Bowl party. They also helped me out with a wireless home monitoring system to keep an eye on my sweet media room while I'm away. These guys are very polite, respectful, and work clean! Had drop cloths covering everything. I highly recommend. A++++
