    Gipson Security Solutions
Perfect. called ahead of time. arrived on time. prompt work. charges were more than fair - I was willing to pay more. Fixed rather than replaced. Replacing would have cost more, but all I needed was a repair. VERY nice person. very professional. Trustworthy. would recommend highly. will use again. Thanks, Angie's List - would not have found this vendor without you.

    Lock Jocks
I had a door lock that needed to be fixed. Brandon from Lock Jocks showed up between the 1 hour appointment window they provided. He was professional. He was able to quickly fix the issue. Price seemed reasonable. I would hire them again.

Made an appointment and the day of the service technician came to the house at the scheduled time but decided because of his physical condition, he couldn't climb the 7 steps to my front door to let me know he was there. Long story short, when I called to inquire about why he didn't even ring the door bell, he was very short-tempered, using foul language, and before I could express my disappointment and urgent need, he hung-up on me. I called one additional time explaining that I would not be afraid to write this review, and I wanted to give him a chance to redeem himself...and he said, "I'm fixing to hang up on you again...(and shouted) I can't do the work and I won't do the work!" I'm sorry to leave this review about Old Town Locksmith, but I gave this guy every chance, and he left me "high and dry" and treated me very rudely. He admitted he should have asked me about the steps before he accepted the job (well, duh). This guy, unfortunately, needs to retire. He no longer cares about his customers. Buyer beware! :(

    Texas Safe & Lock Corp
Fantastic. I can't say enough nice things about Dennis Palmer--he did a superb job installing the new hardware, and then patiently showed me 3 or 4 times how to operate the new lock. He also made sure to use long (secure) screws--and even adjusted the doorknob strike plate so that IT pulled the door tight, instead of me having to pull the door to lock it. Would definitely hire again!

I called and left Larry a message. He called back and left me a message. One of the things he told me is that he is not a licensed locksmith, but a handyman. He may be very good at what he does, but based on this information, he should not be listed under the category of locksmiths in your list.

    AJ Locksmith and Security
I had an experience with other locksmiths in the past, Joey Is the most professional and courteous by far. He arrived to our meeting on time, and did a great job rekeying all of our home locks. We even got few extra keys at no additional cost. Absolutely will use AJ Locksmith again.

The company was very responsive. The locksmith arrived on time and saved us money by repairing the lock so we didn't have purchase a new front door handle. The work was performed quickly with high quality!

It was good. That was the second time I used them. It was more than the $65, because there were a few other things, other than just rekeying. I think it was a little bit more, I don’t remember how much more. Nothing was bad. I have had it done cheaper before. I haven’t had any problems since, so I guess quality was okay. I just gave them the garage code and they went over and took care of it. The house was empty and I wasn’t there.

This place quoted and charged a $100 flat rate and that included the service call. That is half of what the second lowest Starting Cost was that I found. They did the job quick and right. Couldn't have had a better experience. Brandon, the manager and tech was awesome.

    Mr. Rekey Locksmith of Dallas
Not well at all. Nothing against this particular franchisee, this is just how Angie's List has the franchisor set up in their system. The Dallas store on NW Highway might be one of the good ones left. This operation used to be great - responsible, reasonable and thorough. However, the growth of Mr. ReKey franchises has been hindered by their back office. They no longer respond to online requests for service, don't answer the phone, they change their pricing every time I call, and tried to bill me for a service I requested that they never even responded to. Then when I called to dispute the bill, I could not get a real person and had to leave multiple messages, and it is still not resolved. If you can make contact and set up the service, you will probably get taken care of. If you get no response to your online request or get jammed up on the phone, just go elsewhere. Hopefully they will realize the error of their ways and fix this before they kill their franchisees with poor service. Again, this is not a reflection of this particular store. However, most of the Mr. ReKey office functions, as least from my observation, are centralized in Austin somewhere.
