    Bellhops
Bellhops is no better than other moving companies we have moved, and in many respects is worse. We used them for a move from the Baltimore, MD area to the Austin, TX area. We moved using a different company using a single 26' truck, but Bellhops said that it might not fit and suggested we have two trucks on hand. The day before the move, our "move coordinator" knew nothing of the 2nd truck. The 2nd truck arrived, and I explained that we are trying to get everything into one truck; needless to say that did not happen so it cost us an additional $2K. Also, they did not bring padded paper yet they knew they had some glass tables and tiles to wrap! The movers were just heavy lifters and most did not have a lot of experience in moving things. One of the truck drivers - who do nothing but drive - mentioned that back when he was a mover that he could have gotten everything into a single truck. When we got everything unloaded at the new location, we noticed some things damaged. I filled out the claim form and literally within an hour or two of doing that I remembered two other tables with broken tiles (because they did not pack them well). So I asked that I add those to the claim but was told "No, you already submitted a claim." - I was still within the 5 days of the move that you get to submit a claim yet they would not allow me to add these other two items. So Bellhops is a small company that has really poor communications between the teams, inexperienced movers who are not prepared properly, and customer service that won't accept common sense to make the customer happy. We have another move coming up in several months so needless to say, we will not be using Bellhops.

I finally unpacked my $250+ Kitchenaid stand mixer and it was badly damaged. I don't see how you can even dent metal this thick unless you drop it. The back is falling off, it doesn't sound normal, and smells like it's burning now. I emailed them to let them know I wanted to be reimbursed for the cost to fix it, and got a couple rude emails back with horrible grammar saying that I or anyone else could have damaged it, or it could have been broken before I packed it. Really? They completely denied damaging it and won't pay a cent to fix it. So they quite literally will just drop your boxes and say it was broken before they got there. We paid $725 for this service and several other furniture pieces had minor scratches that I figured is just the price of hiring the convenience of movers, so I didn't mention it to them. But finding my mixer like this and getting THIS response? Find another company.

The process setting up the move was smooth and fast and everyone I talked to was very responsive. I was given a per-hour move quote. On moving day the guys showed up and got started. No issues ... except everything just seemed to take a lot longer than I expected. When I booked the move, no one set any expectations with me as to how long the move might take. I was paying an hourly rate, and based on how long it took to move my house the last time I moved (2 years ago), I was expecting the move to take between 2 and 4 hours. The move actually took about 6.5 hours. I talked to the company about how long it took and was told that was pretty standard for my sized house. Wish they had told me that up front to set expectations as to the total cost (instead of just the hourly rate). In addition to the length of time it took, they damaged my stainless fridge. There were dents in the front (2 doors out of 3 dented), the sides, and the front handle was broken off. Luckily, it still works, but it is quite unsightly now. The claims process is a pain - it all has to be conducted through mail, with pictures and forms printed and mailed in. Once mailed in, I got an email confirmation that my claim was received, then the claim was processed within about 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I got a $200 reimbursement for my ruined $3000 fridge. It's my fault that I opted for the "free" low-level move insurance. I guess I was just hoping for a company that would step up and take responsibility for the damages they caused. This is not that company.

    Belle's Superior Movers LLC
It went very smoothly and also went quicker than expected. There was no elevator at the apartment complex, and I thought it would take forever going up and down the stairs but it didn't. Also I would like to add that we needed this done, sort of last minute, the Afternoon before Thanksgiving. Belle's movers came through for us!

They did an excellent job at both packing boxes and loading the truck to protect furniture for the trip. Crew was very professional and price was very reasonable. At the new location everything was placed where we asked them to put it. I would certainly use them again.

These guys where the best ever. worked with on my move date -- our closing on new house was rescheduled twice. They went out of the way to make sure we were taken care of. this move could have not gone any easier. Not 1 item damaged or broken. The 3 guys worked their tails off in 100 degree temps. I will recommend this company ever chance I get. Thank you guys Again for the best move I have ever had.

    Night & Day Moving
This was hands down my best experience moving. At the last minute I needed to change my move date. I called the night before and they were flexible and willing to accommodate me. They showed up with a 4 man crew, which made things go quickly. They disassembled a bed and moved my 2 bedroom condo to a three bedroom home. We were done before lunch! All of the men were efficient and pleasant. There was one small hole punctured in the garage wall when moving in. One of the men went to Lowe's and came back and patched the hole. Alix even texted me the following day to see if I needed someone to come out and paint the patch! Everything was smooth and quick. The best part: I was quoted a great price and they stuck to it. I LOVE the flat rate. No detailed inventory to fill out or charge by the hour. You know what to expect when it comes to the final price. I would highly recommend Alix and his men to anyone looking for movers!

    The Moving Crew
Background: The Moving Crew was a recommendation from my realtor. I compared them to two other moving companies that were recommended to me - another small company quoted a similar price but a longer time, and a different, larger and well known company quoted $200 more (but they was too busy to send someone for an on-site estimate).

Bottom line: Very well worth it - highly recommended and I would definitely use them again!

Why I would use them again:

    • Kacey and his crew (Les & Elijah) were very professional and courteous
    • They were easy to communicate with and arrived on time
    • Packing and moving was done quickly yet carefully (everything made it to the house undamaged, nothing got lost)
    • They brought everything needed including dollies, packing paper, boxes, padding, straps, plastic wrap, tools, and even 100ft of carpet protector for the house
    • Kacey really went above and beyond what I expected - he even packed up my fridge/freezer stuff last and transported it in his personal truck to make sure it could be transferred into the fridge at the house

     Notes:

    • If you have pets, make sure to put them away before any movers or service people who need to prop your door open arrive. These movers were so fast that they propped the door and started moving things before I had a chance to get my two cats put away. Luckily, they are terrified of the outdoors and went to hid in the bathroom so it was fine (the cats, not the movers).
    • Due to the nature of my move (a small amount of stuff in a short distance), no labeling was needed on the boxes. The movers remembered which boxes went with each room and delivered them right where they needed to be. I'm guessing they have a better way of labeling the boxes for a long-distance move or for long-term storage.

The guys arrived on time and were professional.  They introduced themselves.  They completed the job quickly and efficiently.  We did have one item damaged, but it was cheap furniture that was not put together properly to begin with. We filed a claim and they quickly processed and paid for it.  We have used them two more times since May of 2015 and both of these other times have been just as good.  Will continue to use them for any future moving jobs, large or small.

They were on time, and worth the money, though they were a little pricey.  I was wary of paying by the hour instead of getting a locked in price because I knew this would be a long day. My experience with hourly was that they did not move very fast.  These guys moved like they were on fire.  The storage locker was loaded up faster than I thought it would be, then to the apartment where there was another storage unit and my apartment.  That took a while because we were dealing with an elevator and a long hallway, but they moved through it.  I got them breakfast tacos to keep the energy up, and they were very happy.  Travel to the house and no momentum is lost.  They are unloading and putting things where I want them.  The unhooked and hooked up my washer and dryer.  They assembled the beds that I had the screws for (couldn't find one set until right after they left).
Throughout the day whenever I picked something up they took it from me and said we got this.  I felt like a queen.  Well, I felt a little lazy honestly.  :-)  At the end of the day everything was in its place.  It took 4 guys and two trucks 9.5 hours.  It worked out to be as much as my last move, but without the whining at the end of the day about how late it was and that we never agreed to put back together the desk so that would be extra.  I would hire these guys again in a heartbeat.
