    Make Ready Renovation
They did an amazing job. Anytime I had questions or concerns (or more so on my part a lack of knowledge) they were there to explain everything to me in a way I could understand and see. We had a couple unforeseen issues behind our walls with the plumbing, and they brought them to my attention and we agreed on a fair price to fix those issues. Very happy they didn't just fix them and charge me for them at the end. They had no hidden fees or charges and was completely up front and honest about everything. I have since used them for other handyman items in my home. These guys can really do it all!

I'd give them an "A" overall and across the board, except for quality, only time will tell. At this point I'd recommend them to family and friends. We had 2 guys out to replace the unit. The communication was very good.

    Cotes Mechanical
Called American Home Shield and they dispatched Cote's Mechanical that same day. Jason from Cotes made no attempt to troubleshoot the problem. He blamed the hot air on the design of the duct work. Jason said as long as its blowing out air AHS would not replace the A/C. Instead he spent the next hour putting down AHS and trying to sell us a new A/C. I then had another AC company, which I paid for out of my pocket, to take a look. The technician took the time to troubleshoot the problem. He found the heat sequencer and the fan control board needed replacing. If Jason from Cote's had taken the time to troubleshoot the problem he would have found it and it would have been fixed. Instead I am fighting them and American Home Shield to fix my AC.

    ACE Heating & Air Conditioning
I was warned by the owner that labor was $90 an hour and I assumed that he was saying this to say he was a quality company that didn't mess around, because at $90 an hour I expected to get a highly skilled professional in HVAC systems. This was not quite what was delivered. I diligently tracked the workers hours as he was 45 minutes late the first day and I wanted to ensure I wasn't billed for time not worked, but despite this effort, I was. In total, I was billed for about 23.5 man hours when the technicians were in my home no more than a combined 15, and my number is generous, given that much of that time wasted talking on the phone, trying to get faulty equipment to work (an hour spent trying to get small camera to send into the ducts to work that was a dud and produced nothing), sitting on the toilet, watching each other work (one worker did most of the work and the other mostly walked around not doing too much) even spent and charged me a half hour calculating my final bill. In a two day span they had to return for "supplies" 3 times, each time gone over an hour. 45 minutes late one day, 30 the next (but charged as if they were on time). I worked side-by-side with the technicians as an assistant, keeping them on point and helping do the minor tasks like running tools, etc, but it didn't really prevent the one employee from finding ways to get out of doing much of the work. They were gone nearly 2 hours for lunch each day (was billed for their lunches). One technician was constantly on his cell phone, even taking calls for a "side business" for HVAC that he had going on. I made mention several times of a specific area that needed attention (ducts falling off the plenum) and it was ignored, the technicians did not want to perform the work (it was hot, but I would have rather they said they didn't want to do the job then do it poorly). I made mention of the excessive hours when handed the bill and the technician said he "already shaved off as much as he could," which made no sense to me as if anything, he padded the hours, so I had to take it up with the manager, which I did. I spoke with the owner/manager multiple times after the process about being billed unfairly and he was prompt and attentive to my concerns, even saying later on that they had let go the technician who was so unprofessional at our home. He offered a $150 refund, which although modest compared to how badly I felt I was overcharged (total labor was $1665), the owner very graciously helped me coordinate with an insurance company to help defray (partially) the overall cost. I considered that a favor and didn't want to push him by asking for a larger refund. However, I called on a weekly basis from September through November asking where the refund check was and it still has not come. In late October Troy (owner/manager) apologized for the delay and said it would be sent out immediately. Over a week later and still no refund. I'm tired of calling and asking them to do what they said they would do, don't feel like I should have to. I imagine this company is adequate for standard technical jobs, but I wouldn't want to have them for anything that requires "hourly" billing, it's a bit of a trap since they get to decide the hours and they don't seem to line up at all with what the work that is actually performed. I was literally billed for 50% more of the amount of time that the workers were actually at my house (granted, some extra time is fair due to travel to site etc, but by no exaggeration, twice the amount of time was charged to me, and 3 trips to get supplies is something a Homer would need to do, professionals should know what they need and get it on the first trip, if not the second). Disappointing overall, they were recommended to us by a competitor/companion of the industry who had to turn down the job due to an employee who was let go, so we felt like it was a pretty bad loss on our end.

I woke up Sat morning about 6:30 am with the air conditioner blowing hot air. My wife and I were very concerned because we live in Texas the the temperature was forecasted to get above 100 degrees that day. We called the business around 7:20 am and they arrived within an hour. The owner,Tim Lewis, was the technician who responded. He found the problem within 5 minutes of looking at the unit. He replaced the capacitor, tested the system, added the freon, and even hosed the outside unit off to clean it.Tim explained to me everything he was doing and why. He explained to me the new freon systems, and what I would have to do if I needed to replace my 12 year old system with a new one when and if I needed to. Tim was very professional, easy to get along with and honest. I would definitely use Lewis Heating & Air Conditioning again.

    Force Home Services
But I wasn't really very satisfied, I got this warranty from them and I also had them put ducts in and so I had a warranty and it also include plumbing and I really got really high quotes on everything and I didn't get anything done but I did have that gutter I mean that duct and with that we had that issue so it actually probably needs to be re framed but basically we just have it were we can change the filters on it for now but that's about it.

All City Air Conditioning & Heating Inc
The condenser on the upstairs zone gave out.  The tech was able to diagnose and repair the issue in no time at all.  He was also very knowledgeable and educated me on the HVAC System.  The service took less than an hour and my home returned to a comfortable 78 degrees.

    Lifetime'z Heating & Air
This is the second time we've used One Hour Heating & AC. First for our rental property and then for our personal home. We appreciated that they came right out, fixed what we reported, made a few "no pressure" recommendations, and didn't overly push their maintenance program. The prices were fair and the service men were knowledgeable and pleasant. Thanks for the great service! We'll be back when we need AC service again!

    Cotes Mechanical
The owner came in the day before and discussed the options with me of fixing the old unit or replacing it.  I knew in time I was going to be needing a new system.    After discussing the various types and brands with prices and signing the contract, he  took  down the names of my two fur babies and some of their behaviors, so that the workers were aware of them being in the house and would have to be careful with them, and not let them out.  They worked very hard entire day to get my system installed.  They cleaned up their messes they made and left my house the way they found it.   The two that installed my units were very kind, professional and courteous. After I got home from work in the afternoon, the owner and his son came by several times to check on the two men installing the units.
Everyone from the company was very kind, courteous and professional toward me.   I was treated with respect treated like my opinion counted.

    A#1 Air
A representative from A #1 Air contacted me in response to my previous negative review.  They sent out a field supervisor(Lonny) in a timely manner to inspect the work their company did last January 2014.  He explained (and showed me) that the plenum that collects and blows air to all the home interior vents was from the original furnace (1989) and when the previous owners had the furnace replaced (1997) the company should have replaced the plenum to fit the new furnace.  So when I saw the filter kit that A #1 Air installed - it fit the width of the furnace perfectly, but since the plenum was half the width of the furnace duct, only half of the filter was exposed to the air going through it. So long story short - it looked crazy, but it was not the fault of A #1 Air who installed it.

As a gesture of good-will, Lonny came out a few days later and installed a new plenum that is now the same width as the furnace duct which makes the furnace work much more efficiently - at NO CHARGE!  It took him over 5 hours to do the work and he did it with a smile!   He spent quite a bit of time educating me about my system in detail in a way that I could understand and I would definitely use A #1 Air again in the future! Thank you!
