Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews

"Very good. It is preferable to go in to great details as to the maximum amount of work that may entail in the endeavor of remodeling, painting etc. The contractor believes in perfection and that is very beneficial to contract him. We started out with something small in mind but looking at his work we increased the number of jobs to do. All in all it has been a memorable experience having ACE at home for most of ones needs.

"I scheduled a home visit for an estimate to redo bathrooms, paint inside and outside and install fooring throughout my entire house. My time off is limited so I scheduled a time two weeks in advance so that I could take time off. I called the company 4 hours prior to the schedued appointment time confirming the appointment. I had to leave a meaasge. They never showed up nor did they call. Obviously they don't need the business. But it is rude of them not to contact me at ll considering I took the day off. I am a veterinarian and it is difficult to take time off. I would never use them nor refer them to any of my professional friends whose time is important

"Two people came out at the end of April, we discussed the plans and I was told that the cost estimate, materials, floor plans, etc. would be sent out in a few days. After I didn't get the information, I e-mailed the company and a time was set up to present the plans. The person showed up on time, but was not aware of the work the first team had done, so everything was discussed again and I was told I would get the plans, etc. in a few days - the plans did not arrive. I e-mailed and an appointment was scheduled, due to schedule issues on my part, the next appointment was weeks later. The person showed up on time, no plans, no estimate, said he was unaware of the other visits. Reviewed the remodeling again, this time I forgot a couple of items, my wife was not available and was told I would have the plans the next day. I did receive the cost and materials estimate a few days later, there were no floor plans, so if I had them do the work I wouldn't know what to expect. Everyone was pleasant to deal with, there just seemed to be a communication problem and without the floor plan, I only know what the potential costs would be.

"The work was done in two separate projects. The master bathroom was done first beginning in October 2011 and the guest bath was done about 6 months later. For the master bath I obtained three bids. For the subsequent guest bath I was pleased with the work of
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
on the master bath and did not obtain another bid. The bid pricing was consistent with the first job.
MASTER BATHROOM
Work started with a complete tear out of the tub and the 3 walls plus ceiling surrounding the tub. Also existing the existing flooring was removed. This consisted mostly of carpet except for some tile in the toilet area.
We had a somewhat unique design concept which

Godre (

owner) didn’t totally like but he gave us several ideas to help make it better. We wanted a full wall on the shower end and walk-in opening on the opposite end with no door. We were able to put all the water controls on the wall which enabled us to let the water warm without having to walk into the shower.
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
recommended more than one outlet for the shower using a special valve system which I was not familiar with. We ended up with one shower outlet from the ceiling and another one from a handheld shower head which was fixed to a vertical bar on the wall. This arrangement has worked out very well.
After the wall was roughed in,
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
did an inspection visit during which we decided to lower the height of the wall slightly which greatly improved the design and lighting in the shower. He also made some good suggestions for location of various towel and hook hardware in the shower area. This visit was very beneficial; unfortunately it was
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
’s only visit during the work process. (More on this later.)
The tile was selected from the showroom of
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and we couldn’t be happier with the selection and how it turned out. We used the small time squares for the shower floor, 6 x 6 on the shower ceiling, and 12 x 12 on the shower walls and bathroom floor.
The drain was moved to the center of the shower which I think was essential. One of the bids I received had suggested leaving the drain where it was which would have been a disaster. This was a big red flag for that contractor.
The original plan was to sand down the face of the cabinets and restain them. After starting this process,
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
suggested we resurface the cabinet face and build new cabinet doors and drawers as the quality and age of the existing wood was a problem. I was at first skeptical of the resurfacing with a thin plywood but
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
assured me he did this all the time with good results. So we did this and it turned out very well. This was done with no additional cost other than for the materials.
The walls and ceiling were repainted as well as all the woodwork. This included three full size doors which were previously stained. We had an old mirror which covered most of the wall above the countertop which had to be removed and the wall textured for painting. We later sourced two large hanging mirrors from a supplier that

recommended.
The lighting was moved from the ceiling to the wall which required relocation of two electrical outlets.
I was unhappy with a few of the ceiling tile and they removed and replaced them. There was one snafu on what might have been the simplest job of all. The knobs on the cabinet doors were installed inconsistently. When I complained about it,
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
had new doors made, stained, and installed at no additional cost. It truly demonstrated his commitment to customer service.
It will be one year in November since this work was completed and we have experienced no problem with anything.
GUEST BATHROOM
The guest bath was a much simpler project since there was no shower conversion. Once again we selected the tile from the Remodel Specialist showroom with
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
’s help. We were able to get 12 x 24 tiles for installing a horizontal pattern in the shower and matching 12 x 12 tiles for the bathroom floor. There was an interruption during the tile installation when it was discovered the initial order was not sufficient to do the job and additional tiling had to be put on rush order. This was a bit frustrating but not a significant delay.
This bathroom also had a large wall mirror which had to be removed and the wall textured. There was a problem getting the wall texturing to match the desired texture and the first attempt was a total disaster. They completely redid this work and then it took several follow-up attempts to fix various spots on the wall. I
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
’t know why this was such a big problem on the bathroom when it wasn’t on the first one. Once again they continue to work it until I was happy with the results.
This time we knew to plan for resurfacing the cabinets and making new doors and drawers. Everything was stained as with the master bath.
The walls, ceiling, and woodwork were repainted. The lighting outlet was also moved to accommodate a taller mirror.
THE GOOD
The best testimonial I can give is that we went back to Remodel Specialist for the second bathroom work without even getting a bid from someone else. And if we were starting similar project today I would do the same thing. (Maybe I wouldn’t tell them they were the only bid.) In doing work in a shower area the most critical element is the water proofing and tile work; and this is their strength. They also demonstrated a commitment to customer satisfaction throughout the job by fixing anything that I was unhappy with.
NOT SO GOOD
I expect jobs of this nature rarely go without hiccups. I observed two primary issues and it think both can be attributed to the company going through some growing pains.
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
was turning over much of the day-to-day job responsibility to his supervisors. He only visited the job site once while the work was ongoing. As I mentioned previously, this visit was invaluable and I wish he could have been there more but understand why he wasn’t. But the supervisors were not present on daily basis either and I felt this
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to some of the issues which required rework. I am fully convinced that
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
wants to provide a quality product and will do whatever possible to make the customer happy; however, I felt there should have been more quality checks from the supervisors rather than me having to do it.
The second issue was the length of time required for the work. I often felt I was competing with other jobs for their crews. Most days there was some work done but the work typically encompassed only partial days which
Kingwood Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to some inefficiency and longer overall job time.
These issues should not overshadow the dedicated customer service which was demonstrated and confidence I have that the critical work was done to high standards. I offer this more for improvement opportunity and customer knowledge.

"When we decided to replace the sink I started calling every plumping and kitchen replacement company i could find in the book. After 10-12 call and most saying it could not be done I got a number for KitchenLife. When I described what I wanted done they told me how they would do the work. They came the day agreed were on time, protected everything in the kitchenfrom the dust and removed the sink when I was told repeatedly it could not be done! They installed the new sink which I bought and reconnected the plumbing. they said 2 days and that is what it took. great job!"

is the owner and he came out to take measurements and delivered the cost quote. It was obvious that countertops and associated work (back splash, sink, etc.) were his specialty and he had good suggestions. He came back at a later date with samples but suggested we visit his warehouse to view the full slabs of granite. This was a good suggestion and I would advise anyone else to do the same. You can't get a true feel looking at small samples and each slab has its own uniqueness. We had some communication issues which dragged out longer than I would like but this was over Christmas time which was the primary cause of the misses. The work was done in January for the agreed price. The crew worked in the house for 3 days mostly unsupervised and we had no issues during the installation. The final product was excellent quality. My wife is extremely happy so I am happy."

"They were very good. We liked them a lot. We didn't go with them because my husband wasn't here at the time and was unable to hear him. I very much liked him and thought he was professional and good. I have recommended him to others. "

"The man who came out to give the estimate was very good, very professional, and knew his job. I haven?t had any work done by them as I am yet to be ready. "
C
"They were very slow with their response. Their estimate came 2 or 3 weeks after they came to my house and I didn't want to proceed with the work based upon their response. Time was important to me. They didn't actually do any work. They were not as good as the other company. "
