House Painting reviews in Kerrville

  • I can recommend Tony Dean Painters, Kerrville, Texas, with no reservation. Mr. Dean and his workers are professional, dependable and organized. They are punctual, and the work is careful and "as agreed." A previous unscrupulous Kerrville contractor, who did not finish the job, had thrown two of my custom made screens over a retaining wall, unbeknown to me. I thought he had carried them off, but Mr. Dean found them, cleaned them up and painted them for me so that I did not have to go to the expense of having them made again. I highly recommend Tony Dean Painters.

  • He was fabulous. They took care of so many other things, along with the roofing. Bill worked with our insurance company and got all kinds of things done for us. He was really a great person. I liked Texas so much. I was in and out of the hospital, and he took care of everything for us.

  • Badly. Tony did not arrive for our agreed appointment. He did not call or follow up in any way. I wasted an entire afternoon waiting for him to arrive. No show. No call. No excuse. No follow up. Seems I was not important to him. Be careful if you make an appointment with Tony Dean's Painting. He may not show.

  • After checking with people in the area, his crew were not licensed. In speaking with his 'electrician' the young man (Dillon) told me he had to do this type of local work because he is a felon and cannot get a job with a 'real' company.. I think that Mike should have informed me of the legal status of this individual, as I certainly would have never had him in my house .I am finished contacting them. I will cut my losses and try to find a more professional, licensed company in the area to complete the work.

  • I heard an advertisement on the radio for Rhino Shield. The ad indicated that this was not paint but coating and is guranteed for 25 years. You will never have to paint your house again. After calling the company a salesman came out and gave us a price after looking at our house. We were very clear that the preperation of the house was important to us because the previous owners had painted over multiple layers of paint and we did not want this coating to be applied to the wood without proper removal of peeling paint etc. The salesman seemed to understand and stated the prep would be completed to our satisfaction. The price quoted was about 6100 dollars. This was quite expensive in my opinion but we decided to go with it because of the gurantee and not having to paint again. Fast forward to October and the crew came out to prep and apply the coating. The crew foreman quickly realized that a lot more work was needed because of the previous coats of paint etc. After a lengthy discussion on 10/5/15  it was agreed that we would pay an additional cost of $550 maximum for 2 people to complete the extra labor. Rhino Shield called my wife on 10/8/15 to get final payment that was way more that what we  had discussed. He wanted over $2200 additional dollars over the contract price. My wife told Anthony he would have to contact me to discuss. Rhino Shield never attempted to call me until 10/20/15. I think it is clear why the Rhino Shield foreman did not call me because he knows what we discussed and he knew my wife was not aware.
On 10/20/15 the foreman called me to say due to extra labor we owe $2284 above the contract price. He wanted me to agree to pay ½ this amount $1142. I did not agree. This amount is still twice what he told me on October 5th. He asked me to discuss with my wife and let him know if we would agree to that amount.
On 11/5/15 we received an invoice for $1142 above the contract price. We had already paid the full contract price. We think at the very least we were lied to about the additional cost and could not recommend this company. I was told that the salesman is very experienced and that both he and the foreman have worked together for years. They gave me a discount upfront due to the advertisement then proceeded to try and get it back and then some more.
I still have never received the warranty that was to be mailed after completion of the work! Even though the work was good, it is not worth it with no warranty. And who can trust a warranty from these people?

  • I had another company come out to do the addition on my house, but, was very disappointed with all of the work done. It was totally shoddy work. However, I was very happy with all of the work performed by Hill Country Home Pros. I called Ken and Larry and they were out to give me an estimate to complete the work (that had not been completed by the previous contractor), within 24 hours of my call. I was concerned that the timeframe would not be met as promised, but, it was finished perfectly and on time. I would highly recommend them and have already done so with a neighbor.

  • Tony told us it would take two days to complete. He was finished in the time promised.
He handled the job with professionalism, and to our complete satisfaction.
He was also very considerate and polite to our tenant.

  • I called this company to provide a quote on some interior painting and some additional exterior foundation painting as they had re-painted our exterior of our home and did an exceptional job. Owner, John came out on time and reviewed what we needed.  He was to have called me back or e-mailed with with a quote. Never heard another word from him even after repeated contact attempts. If he didn't want to do the job or had too much work already,  he could have called me and said so versus leaving me hanging. I never quibbled on the price on the exterior painting from the first job he did for us, so he knew we were not nickle/dimers trying to get the lowest price.  A very disappointing experience. I am still trying to find a quality painting willing to come to southwest Kerrville.

  • They were very responsive and worked the whole weekend to put our roof on Saturday and Sunday. The guy came in and painted almost the whole house and did a great job; we did not have any trouble with them. I give them all A's and will use them again in the future.
    - Barbara K.
  • It looks incredible! They were finished in a timely manner, left things neat, communicated frequently via email and phone, and were flexible with our method of payment. I was impressed with their professionalism and loved the fact that I was dealing with a locally owned family business. I would definitely use them again.
