    Janel's massage studio is a nicely appointed room in her house containing a professional massage table, a fake fireplace for ambiance, a place to put your stuff, nice decorations, and pleasant music. Janel listens attentively to your desires and concerns and adjusts the massage accordingly. I have had several massages and have found them to be quite soothing and helpful for my chronic sore spots. Janel's prices are very reasonable and she is a delight to interact with.

    Whitney has been my therapist for two and one half years (approximately 40 appointments). She maintains the highest professional standards at all times. Whitney has some of the most amazing people skills I have ever seen in any field. It seems to be one of her natural gifts. She could teach a class on bedside manner in medical school. Whitney cares about her clients while maintaining professional boundaries. She makes me feel completely at ease. Whitney has the touch. She can sense what areas need work without me saying anything. Last summer, I doubled up on my running to keep my weight below the limit for my first skydive. My shins started feeling the strain. I did not say a word to her about it. At my next appointment she spent more time on my shins than any other appointment before or since. I do not know how she knew. It still amazes me. Whitney is perfectly willing to listen to me describe what is bothering me. She simply does not seem to need the description. She will also customize her pressure and modalities to what is needed or requested. Whitney follows my lead regarding conversation. If I am not talkative, she works quietly. If I start a conversation, she is delighted to talk. She always respects my privacy, and does not ask me any personal questions unless it is a topic I raise. Whitney is very reliable. In 40 appointments, she only called in sick twice, once when she had the flu and once when she broke her ankle. She notified me several hours (several days in the case of the broken ankle) before my appointment so that I did not drive in. Whitney has a roomy suite in the Venetian Salon.  She has decorated it beautifully.  Whitney plays relaxing music and is willing to work with me to play music I like.  Whitney is more expensive than some therapists, but she is worth every penny.  Working with Whitney is about as close to perfection as you can get.

    When I arrived, she had everything prepared! the room smelled so nice, she had very soothing music, and the towels she used were just the perfect temperature.  Before the process, she asked several questions to make sure I would get the appropriate treatment. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the process.  She offered products without being a pushy sales person. This may not be the luxury spa, but you sure will get the personal attention you deserve! If you are looking for someone that truly cares about her client, please visit Claudia's Little Corner!

    I arrived for my appointment 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork.  The manager said he did not have me down for an appointment.  I told him that I had made the appointment months ago.  He told me that they tried to contact me earlier in the day to confirm the appointment but had been unable to reach me (I was at work all day where I cannot take personal calls).  The manager said that when they cannot confirm the appointment they cancel it and place the person on the waiting list.  He said they could not get me in for a ninety minute massage, but if I could wait about thirty minutes they could get me in for a one hour massage.  (They had my credit card information to hold the appointment).  He said they could get me in for a ninety minute massage the following afternoon.  I booked the appointment for the following afternoon and filled out the paperwork while I was there.  I told the manager that I understand that "no shows" are a problem and would have been happy to confirm the appointment.  I told him they should advise clients ahead of time that their appointment will be cancelled if they do not confirm the appointment within the preceding 24 hours.  He told me they would give me a complimentary hot stone add on to compensate.
    The following afternoon I received a professional deep tissue massage.  The therapist worked very hard and was out of breath for most of the time.  It was not very relaxing listening to her trying to catch her breath for the majority of the massage, but I appreciate her effort. 
    A few days later I called to make a January appointment for the Living Social Voucher.  Hoping for a more relaxing session, I asked to be booked with a different therapist.  I was assured that I would be booked with a different therapist.  The following day I received a call from the manager.  He said my phone number had shown up on their caller ID the day before.  He said the office was closed that day and he wanted to see if he could be of assistance.  I told him I had already made an appointment.  This was the first time a business called me because my phone number showed up on their caller ID.  I do not know why he would say they were closed that day.  I spoke to the receptionist and made an appointment on that day. 
    I called 24 hours before my appointment on 1/21/2012 to confirm the appointment.  I showed up a few minutes early.  I was told that I was booked with the same therapist.  At this point, I decided I would not return to this business, so I did not mention that I had specifically requested a different therapist.  Again the therapist worked very hard and was out of breath for most of the massage.
    At the end of February, I discovered The Massage Works charged my credit card on 2/15/2012 for $50.  I called The Massage Works and spoke with the manager.  He told me he did not know how that could have happened because they do not keep credit card information on file.  He assured me he would take care of it.  I called the credit card company and disputed the charge just to be sure.  On 3/15/2012, my credit card was billed again for $50.  I could not reach anyone at The Massage Works, so I called the credit card company and disputed the charge.  I told the credit card company that this seemed to be a recurring charge and asked if there was a way to get this stopped so that I would not have to dispute the charge every month.  The credit card company told me that they would automatically remove the charge if it happened again.  On 4/15/2012 the $50 charge appeared and was immediately credited back.  On 5/15/2012 the charge appeared and was not credited back.  I called the credit card company and disputed the charge.  For the next two weeks I called The Massage Works.  No one answered the phone, and no one called back even though I left messages. 
    I finally reached a receptionist and asked to speak to the manager.  He was unavailable.  I asked when he would be in the office.  She told me.  I made a special trip and drove over.  When I arrived, she told me I had just missed him.  I told her about the charges on my credit card.  She said she would have him get in touch with me.  A few days later the manager called.  He asked me to not dispute the last charge.  He said he would prefer that I come into the office so that he could refund my money.  He said that when I dispute the charge they have to pay a bank fee.  He actually wanted me to go out of my way and use my gas to save him the fee.  Of course, I would also be giving up the only leverage I had to induce him to stop charging my credit card.  When he discovered that I had disputed the charge two weeks earlier, he gave up on that plan.  I have not been charged again since 5/15/2012.
    The therapist worked very hard during both appointments.  The management is horrible.

    After a badly strained calf several days ago, I could hardly walk and it was very bruised and swollen. Dr. Smith manually worked the muscles and tissues in my lower leg. Nicci followed up with a series of band stretches I can do from home to increase healing and return of flexibility. After 30 minutes with each, I was amazed by how much better I already felt! Their experience with this combined rehab approach is that most patients are recovered after just 2-3 visits, instead of weeks of rest and healing.

    Their massage therapist is an NFL trainer. He does a good job. I like him. The staff is great. I get a lot of communication form them. They are very good about that. Their massage is really good.
