Hospital Care reviews in Katy

Excellent hospital, excellent doctors, some of them highly specialized, working as well at the med center downtown (fetal medicine). They saved my babies.

Delivery went well. I stayed for 4 days and the nurses were very sweet no caring.

Babies stayed a few weeks at NICU and were treated like royal princesses. The sweetest nurses ever.

    Very comfy rooms. Good food.

    I can only recommend.

It is the biggest hospital in Texas. I don't make appointments, I go there if I have an emergency. I've been using them for 6 years now. I like the fact that they are competent and I dislike the fact that they are expensive like any medical place in the U.S.

The staff (nurses) were unresponsive.  It took them forever to answer a call for help.  Most of the time, I would see them just sitting around talking.  They were not pleasant or personable.  They could not advise of the status of my father.  There were only 2 nurses that were good and easy to work with, but they were not on duty everyday.  The night shift was worse.
My father hated it there and my Mom and I did not like it either.  He was sent there by his doctor so they could get his blood oxygen level stabalized so he could be moved to a rehab facility.

My biggest complaint is that we were only called and notified of his death after he had already passed.  He was fine when we left after visiting him on Saturday.  We were told that he went downhill overnight, he was not able to breath and his blood oxygen levels were low.  We did not get one call that night to let us know how bad he was doing.  At 9:00am Sunday morning, Mom and I are getting ready to go back to visit him and we get a call from a doctor that he has passed.

I am so angry that we were not called so that we could be with him in his final hours.  We were cheated out of being there for him.  And he was left to die alone!!!   Based on the care we saw him recieve during the day, I seriously doubt that they even monitored him overnight or even that a doctor was contacted to come in and see him.

I called to speak to the person in charge of the hospital to give them my complaint.  Someone took a message and said they person I needed to talk to was in a meeting and they would call be back.  Guess what, I have not been called back.

Do not have your loved ones sent here.  They will not recieve the treatment and respect they deserve.

Surgery went well . . recovery was a little spotty . . they released me too early as it turned out and I had to go back to the ER for additional treatment. That may be omore of a Medicare issue than a Hospital issue.
Once thing that stood out was the lack of a GP checking in during my stay . . the Surgeon checked in once, but no other supervision other than nurseing ( which was generally excellent )

It was pretty wonderful experience. I have been there before for physical therapy three times a week. This time I went there for a week, three hours a day. It just gave me a much better start on the rehab. This facility was strictly rehab. The gym was wonderful. The equipment they had was fabulous. It is a huge gym. Their therapists were excellent. The care was good. The food was fine because of course I was really not that sick; so they give regular food, which was really good for hospital food. It was a very good experience. I will recommend them to anyone that needs such kind of service. I saw lot of patients there with different surgeries done on them.

I was going in for surgery very scared. They didn?t seem very professional on many things. I was told to be there at six o?clock in the morning. So we were there at six and the door was locked. They told us to walk around to the other door and I could hardly walk because of my knee. I was in extreme pain. Finally they let us in. They were okay but I felt the staff inside preparing me for the surgery didn?t seem as professional as they should have been. I guess I have been spoilt by the medical center downtown that was just so outstanding. They were as professional as they could have been. When I took off my clothes for the surgery, she took my shoes and set them right on top of my clothes. These shoes of mine, I wear to the dog park and they are really dirty. I told them that I wanted a separate bag to put in my shoes and not put them with my clothes. I was just trying to tell them that I need to keep my clothes clean because after the surgery I can get an infection easily on my knee. I realized that I should not have worn those shoes, but I didn?t realize that and just happened to wear them because I wear them everyday. They were good but not as professional as they should have been. I had to wait for almost a month to get my surgery done. I would use their services again in the future, but they would be my second choice.

Admissions were on time, pre-op was thorough and nursing staff were attentive prior to and following surgery including making snack available immediately following surgery to accommodate diabetic requirements.

It was a day thing and that is the only time I've been here. The hospital was big and beautiful. I was pleased with what they did and the attention I got. I had two attendants that were with me all the time. It was like an operation. They were extremely helpful, nice and pleasant.

Was brought in immediately for assessment but initially get a poor response from the receptionist person. There was no one else waiting in the ER, this was about 930am on a Saturday. Initial assessment went fine with wound inspection and then taken to a treatment room. There was no sense of urgency despite our concerns about getting the would properly cleaned immediately. We waited 15 minutes for medical staff to again look at the wound. It was a drill bit piercing longitudinally up the fore arm 3 inches in a 5 year old. After another 20 minutes a nurse came in to start cleaning and we asked if they were also going to due the bandaging, which the previous person (not a doctor) had said they were going to use a glue bandage. The nurse knew nothing of this so left to find out and in another 10 minutes finally came to clean the wound. All they did was irrigate it out, using no antiseptics, despite our concern for infection due to diabetes. We needed to then go out or our way to insist on an x-ray to assure there was no debris inside the wound. No antibiotic was recommended on check out, nor any detailed instructions on anti-infection procedures. After meeting with our doctor on Monday we were given a prescription for antibiotics due to the doctors concern as well as inspection of the wound and a slight possibility of the start of an infection, the doctor wanted to get a culture but was unable to. Infections for a diabetic child are extremely serious and difficult to treat due to glucose management complications. The hospital never once inspected my childs medic alert bracelet, though they were told repeatedly they were diabetic. All we got from this hospital was a waste of 3 hours time to irrigate and put a glue bandage on. We did know the extent of damage and expected serious bleeding that never materialized thankfully but I do have other alternatives in about the same distance. Next time I'll do this myself and be giving better care. Keep in mind there were NO other emergency patients during this time...I walked the halls all the rooms were empty and lots of staff doing what ever they do, mostly starring at computer screens. No wonder our health care is so expensive and not really dramatically better than other countries. I can't wait to see the bill.

I was scared to be admitted to the ER but my nurse was amazing. Chritianne was my ER nurse and she really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. She even French braided my hair to help me feel better. The ER doctor and staff were very professional but they also had a great bedside manner. I felt like they really cared about my health. Not once did I feel like I was cattle or just the next patient, everyone made me feel like I was important to them. After the ER I was transferred to ICU, which I didn't want to leave the ER staff since they were amazing but it was time. The ICU nurses and staff were just as wonderful as the ER staff. Everyone in this hospital were amazingly wonderful.
