  • Wonderful! As a 2nd opinion, I was very impressed. He mentioned pros and cons for the previous doctor's opinion, then personally made a recommendation for a different surgery that was less-invasive and would not alter my visual appearance (yea - no bigger nose!) They were very clear about what procedure they recommended, how it would work, possible side effects, recovery time, financials etc. I scheduled a surgery within 2 weeks and recovery (About 1 week) was as to be expected. Now having a few months to see the true effects of the surgery, I am blown away at the improvement! I can now smell things I've never smelt before (which can be a good and bad thing!). Food tastes richer and I have found I enjoy more things, and even my hearing has improved. They performed the balloon surgery that widens your sinuses and cleaned everything out in all cavities. Absolutely recommend it to anyone they suggest.

  • I have been a patient of Amanda Troyer, AuD at Rosewood ENT for more than 2 years now. I am hearing impaired in both ears and wear hearing aids. Dr Troyer provides prompt, professional, thorough, friendly service every time I visit. She is very knowledgable, performs thorough hearing tests and evaluations, and takes time to adjust my hearing aids if needed. She has helped me understand how to use them to maximum benefit. On mutiple occasions she has allowed me to try out the latest demonstration model hearing aids and accessories. I highly recommend Dr Troyer at Rosewood ENT.

  • I had an appointment for 3:20pm; I did not even get *into the exam room* until an hour afterwards. Of course, it was about 15-20 minute after that that I actually saw a doctor.
    I explained that I have sinus issues and that my singing voice has changed, and that my Nurse Practitioner at my college's clinic had diagnosed me with GERD/EERD and referred me to an ENT. Dr. Prichard said that he was going to look at my vocal cords, and needed to spray medicine in my nose and leave it for a few moments. He did so, then left.
    He returned a few moments later, put a hose through each of my nostrils. This was extremely painful, so much so that tears welled in my eyes--the pain lasted until the next morning. I wasn't warned the pain would last that long, or would be that severe.
    He said that luckily he saw no issues with my throat, but wanted to get a CAT scan to check out my sinuses, as he didn't feel the sinus film I'd had done at the recommendation of my university clinic was enough.
    On my way out, the Nurse apologized for the long wait (until this point I had thought this was standard for them, as no one had acknowledged this until this point). The Nurse said that the patient before me had to have a procedure done--but wouldn't they have known that in advance and not scheduled this time slot?
    Until this point, I may have rated this visit a C. What brings it down to an F for me is what happened when I went to check out. My insurance co-pay is $50 for specialists. The receptionist gets my folder, tallies everything up, and tells me that my bill is $260 (approximate...I do not remember the exact number, I was in too much shock).
    I told her that my co-pay is $50, thinking she was billing me for the entire visit instead a co-pay. She says that she knows this, but that the procedure I had was approximately $300, and that my insurance only covered $100.
    Procedure? When I ask her what she's talking about, she says the and quot;scope that I had doneand quot; is only partially covered.
    The and quot;I'm going to take a look at your throatand quot; procedure. These are the exact words the doctor used.
    I've never had a doctor do anything that wasn't covered by my insurance without first telling me, in detail, what it was, why he or she thought I needed it, and what they would recommend instead if I couldn't afford it. Maybe I've just been very very fortunate in the past and doctors are not actually required to do this--but the whole thing left a very bad taste in my mouth.
    When I told the receptionist that I could only pay the $50 that day, and that Dr. Prichard did not tell me that the visit was going to cost an extra $300, she shrugged, and at first would not hand over my debit card. This makes me feel like this has happened before, and people had gotten very upset/refused to pay. Not wanting to make a scene (or yell at her--it wasn't her fault) I told her to send me a bill for the rest. I was so shocked and upset; I just wanted to get out of there.
    The bottom line is that I will not return to Dr. Prichard because do not feel that I can trust him. I don't even know if I actually need a CAT scan done on my sinuses--maybe this is just another and quot;up-selland quot;? It may not be, but I'd rather hear that from a doctor that I feel like I can trust. Unfortunately, I did not find that here. This was a very disappointing experience.

  • My husband visited with Lauren, who fitted him for a hearing aid. For the past 2 years, Lauren has taken care of any challenges that have come up. She is flexible and will even meet my husband in the parking lot to pick up the hearing aid, so he doesn't have to do a lot of walking (has balance issues). Lauren goes above and beyond the normal. We would recommend Lauren to anyone!
