Mike really worked with us to get what we needed at the price we could afford. After the first estimate came back over our budget (but still reasonable for what we were asking), Mike allowed us to change our request and adjusted the estimate and work accordingly. Instead of new siding all around, we had them put new siding on one side and caulk and paint three sides of our 1350+SF house that's up on stilts. He made excellent recommendations of materials with good explanations—for example, low E Simonton vinyl windows instead of aluminum. The workers are skilled, polite, and friendly, even when things were tough. This old house didn't want to let its single-pane windows go! And they had to find extra-long ladders to finish the trim around the windows and paint on one side. When impending storms caused a temporary shutdown of the project, they made sure everything would be dry and secure. Communication was good throughout the project—when there was a misunderstanding about what work was to be done, it was quickly cleared up. The pictures below are before, during, and after the project. We're really happy with JP Construction and would use them again.

It took them three months to complete the project. When the sales guy came out for the estimate, the 1st thing I said was that this house was built in 1993 and I know there will need to be a lot of caulking. I m made it very clear I wanted it over caulked..

They got caulk all over the windows and everything else. They used a white caulk so turned dirty right away. There was a lot of areas they didn't get. They wanted to argue with me about what could and couldn't be caulked. They finally called the caulking and painting companies out and they couldn't figure out what the problem was so they re did it.

I understand things go wrong sometimes but what bothers me is they didn't back the work up. The contractors they sent out were sloppy, they had to retouch a lot of areas. It was a sad sad job. I wouldn't recommended them to anyone or use them again. They did end up fixing everything but it took a lot of arguing and bringing people out. It's still not the best.

After what I thought was extensive research to hire the right landscaper, I never could have been so wrong in selecting David. My project was a $50,000 backyard landscape project including stone work, pergola, irrigation and landscaping. He asked for a $5,000 deposit to "get on the schedule" which I paid. He asked for $20,000 when the project started, which I paid. It became clear that he did not have the capital to fund the project. Even worse, he was likely using my funds on other projects to try and keep his cash flow positive. He started showing up less and less and left me to provide direction to the workers effectively becoming the crew boss. He said he was concerned I would not pay my bills, yet I was paying him in advance of the work?? David asked me to pay his contractors directly since he did not have the cash. His workers said they would never work for him again because he bounces checks. At one point I had to call the police because of an altercation between David and a contractor in front of my house (public record available). I paid for all material and labor directly for the second half of the project. In the end he stopped showing up, didn't return text or phone calls and left me with 2 workers to finish the job. To put salt in the wound, there was a bobcat rental invoice that David did not pay and now the vendor is seeking to put a lien on my house to get paid. All through the project David lied about schedules, when workers would show up, material that he said he bought when he did not. The project finished 5 months late and $10,000 over budget. What a disaster. Clearly it was too big for him. I'm sure he has a narrative that is very different, but it would just be more dishonesty.

Everything we have had D & L do was done correctly, on time and competitively priced. I can call Erasmo anytime and he is always quick to respond to anything we need. His work crews are all nice young guys and never seem to mind doing an occasional extra task when I ask them. (Note: I tip them accordingly, however.)

The finished fence and gates are beautiful. The workers showed up at the time promised and were quick, courteous and tidy and Jeff was often there overseeing the work. They even took down the temporary fence I had installed around some of the plants. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

We met with Jeff and a few other fence builders to enclose a large portion of our back yard with wrought iron fencing and to finish off some previously unfinished portions of our deck (railings, gates, etc.).  Jeff gave us a quote right away, his price was very competitive with the others and he seemed to take a lot of pride in his work so we felt most comfortable going with him.  It was around the holidays so it took a couple of weeks for him to get to the job but he finished within a few days once he got started.

The fence and deck look fantastic.  As with any project, we had to make a few small adjustments when they were finished but Jeff was more than happy to take care of everything with no problem at all.  Overall we are extremely happy with the way the fence turned out and our experience with Lago Vista Fence.  We wouldn't hesitate to use him again or refer him to a friend.

Paul came out to give me a quote promptly.  It took over a week to get
the quote (which he did warn me about).  I asked him to do the work.  I
never heard back from him.  I called or emailed twice to try to get the
project moving forward to no avail.  It was very disappointing to see
the total lack of interest in my business or maintaining a professional
approach.  I am a fellow contractor, and I do not like leaving negative
reviews.  Maybe this will serve as a wake up call.  Paul and his office
person did not give me much of a choice.  They never even got back with
me since our last discussion.  Period.  No interest in doing the work, I
guess.  No apologies for wasting my time.  I have another contractor
doing the work for me, now, but much of the work needed to be done
sooner.  Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

Very Professional.  The crew showed up on time,  completed the work in the 4 days as promised.  Not only that, the guys actually like their work.  They did a great job of cleaning up, which seems to be forgotten by most stone masons. The patio and firepit area came out exactly as my wife had envisioned.

The did a great job replacing all my fasia, some of which was rotting.  They used hardi so this should last.  The roof needed to be resecured in areas that the fasia had rotted.  About two weeks after the job was done, I saw high winds lifting the roofing.  They promptly fixed the issue.

Don came over on a Sunday to do our estimate.  He was very plesant and very thorough.  We had already received other bids, but Don's was very good and we liked his attitude.  We called him back and hired him within the hour.  Don and Pete showed up early Monday morning and immediately began work.  Pete was also very plesant and they both were hard workers.  Each evenng they cleaned up any mess and left the house and yard looking good.  We had to go to Dallas before they were finished, but left a house key with our next door neighbor so that Don &/or Pete could get into the house when they needed to.

They finished the job by Friday and when we returned home late Monday we were very pleased with the work that had been done.  Don came by this morning and we thanked him very much and paid him.
We hope to be able to use him next year to paint the interior of our house.
