Chris and his crew did an amazing job in building our retaining wall in backyard! Chris came on few times to look at work and answered all the questions/concerns we had. He is very knowledgeable and professional and very easy to work with, best part is he responds with few minutes you call. His crew is very good and amazing; they used to clean up every day after their work. We are definitely going to hire him for our future projects and would highly recommend.

Grow It Land Designs & Garden Center
Clean up of yard was adequate but a large number of plants were removed. The french drain was very poorly installed, soil sunk around walkway exposing supporting bricks and potential collapse they refused to correct citing no responsibility, too small a job minimum futher charge of $1500+ and I should do it myself. Cypress trees died after pruning .

The owner (Stephen Mickey) was great to deal with--he gave us an estimate quickly, then was flexible with his installation dates to coordinate with another crew that we had working installing stonework. He communicated with us to let us know exactly when the driveway would be installed. The crew showed up when they said they would, did a great job, and the owner's son worked on the crew and directed them. Mickey also came by to oversee the project. We are very pleased.

    Blaney Stonework And Landscape Inc
Forrest Blaney (a licensed landscape architect) is extremely professional and takes pride in his (and his crew's) work. He came up with a wonderful landscape design for our very plain large corner lot. The stonework project was quite extensive and took about 5 weeks to complete. His stone masons have worked with him for many years and are a very hardworking, dedicated bunch. The most surprising thing of all is that Forrest himself worked almost all day every day along with his crew--he didn't just show up for a few minutes and then leave. He was eager to talk with us each and every day to discuss how the work was progressing and made sure that we were pleased. People are constantly driving and/or walking by and complimenting the work. We could not be happier and plan to use them again in a few months for our backyard (new patio, retaining wall, etc.)

    Heritage Stonecraft LLC

Remodeling our kitchen scared us so much it took a year of hand wringing before we made our decision.  Based on reviews I read here, we went with Heritage.

I have to say I think this was the least stressful, most enjoyable large project I've ever experienced.  Everyone that we interacted with was awesome. They tore out the old counter top and tile quickly and professionally, and installed the new granite the same day.  The tile work started the next day and took 2 days because it was way more than just a backsplash.  We tiled the whole connecting bar with two columns.  They had to cut every tile.  They didn't just slap it up and there and make it work. They carefully aligned the tiles and cut as needed to make it perfect.

The whole thing is beautiful. Not a single issue.  Not one.  I can't believe it.  That might be because they schedule and handle every aspect.  I wasn't dealing with a lot of different people or different companies.  And there were a lot of little details on this project and they got everything right.  The little mural behind the stove was even numbered incorrectly by the artist - and they caught the error. The didn't just blindly put them  on the wall.  That would have been bad.

    Thanks Heritage Stonecraft!!!

    Stenson Landscape & Irrigation, Inc.

My water hungry front lawn was replaced with climate friendly plants and ground cover in new beds with beautiful stone borders.  The design was perfect for my needs and the installation crew was great.  They showed up as scheduled, explained everything as they worked on the project and cleaned up all mess.   The new plant beds look great.  Thank you.

    Metro Marble & Granite Inc
Levi Walker and Metro Marble & Granite, Inc. damaged our master bath!  We paid them about 10K and they essentially damaged our Masterbath.  We took Levi Walker and Metro Marble & Granite to Small Claims Court and we won a 10K Judgement on both of them.
He refuses to pay us the judgement but we'll keep trying for the next 40 years or so.
I have filed judgements with major counties in Texas and I will continue to file and fight to get our money paid.
I do not recommend Levi Walker and/or Metro Marble & Granite!

    Backyard Creations LLC
The small backyard of our house we bought just contained a concrete slab and gras, and a wooden fence that had come to the end of its lifetime.
Did a research on Angie's List, and send an email requiring information about backyard alteration for a small space and making it a way that the Texas heat makes it easy to maintain. The only company that actually responded was Backyard Creations.
The first meeting went well, and actually our schedule was accomodated as we only had time on the weekends. Rich did an excellent job in getting to know who we are in order to get a design that fits us. And yes, the design plan just hit the spot and was perfect regarding design, plant selection and stone selection (natural stone).
Now there was the issue that the HOA had to approve all, and this took time. Until then we didn't have to put a deposit down since we didn't know how the HOA will decide. The HOA took forever and I am very happy that Rich did hang in there with us, patiently waiting until we did get the ok, and still giving us all discounts we had previously agreed on even if the timeframe for that was exceeded.
Once we had the approval, everything went very quick and within 2 weeks we now have our dream backyard.
The fence and stonework contractors were doing an awesome job, very good craftsmanship, cleaning up after their work, so it wasn't even noticable outside on the common lawn. Long story short, Backyard Creations was the right choice for us. Rich and Backyard Creations are professional, curtious and the contractors do excellent work. I appreciated that Rich kept us uptodate with his schedules, and was always available to discuss questions. As well after every job, he called to make sure everything was done ok and we were content with the work. Yes, we were in good hands.

    Tecton Stoneworks
The overall experience was FANTASTIC!! Aaron is the owner of the company and not only does he come out to give you a quote, he is the lead in completing and overseeing the project every day.   Aaron came out to our house and was very professional, friendly, honest, thorough, precise, and hard working. He explained in detail everything that needed to be done and the price break down of each item. The price was more than fair for all the work completed.
He took extreme care in doing the very best job.  He matched the mortar color perfectly and was very meticulous in taking care of all the details.  I cannot say enough nice things about Aaron and his crew.  They did an amazing job!! Our house looks completely different after they finished with it.  It is like brand new!! What a gift they have given us with their craftsmanship! You will not be disappointed if you use this company!!  I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone.  I promise you will be so happy with the entire experience from start to finish!!!

    Wilson Landscape Design
DJ from Wilson Landscape Design visited my house on Saturday, 9/1/2012 to give a quote. I did not receive a quote from him for quite some time, so I followed up with him about 1.5 weeks later. DJ kept telling me he would provide it later that day or the next. After another week, I reached out the Wilson Landscape Design, and finally received my quote in about 24-48 hours on Thursday, 9/20/2012 (almost 3 weeks after the initial visit). This should have been a clue that DJ would not be responsive during the process, and I should have went with another company then. Hindsight is 20/20.
So on 9/20 and 9/21, I exchange emails and text with DJ. I asked him for a different option for the stone on 9/21. He finally gave me a stone option on 10/15 (more than 3 weeks later). During that time, DJ kept saying that he would send it to me the next day, etc.
During that time (approximately during the first week of October), although we had not selected a stone option, DJ and I scheduled for the work to begin on the morning of Saturday, 10/27/2012. DJ mentioned that they do not typically work Saturdays, but that in this case he would make an exception. We had confirmed this by phone and by text. On Friday, 10/26/2012, at 12:24pm, I received the following text from DJ: " Stone company just called me that they can not make deliver of stone. They are having problems with truck. We will have to reschedule. I sorry for this delay." Please keep in mind this is less than 24 hours before the scheduled work. I've already cleared out my Saturday for this, but I understand that perhaps this was out of Wilson Landscape's control.
So we trade a few more texts. I ask him how soon we could reschedule. DJ sends me the following text: " I am trying to get another stone yard to make the delivery but no luck so far. It would be next Saturday." Please remember this text from DJ, as it will come up again later.
In any event, I can't schedule for that Saturday (I got married that day), so I write him this text: " I am getting married next Saturday, so that doesn't work for me. Please keep trying on the stone yards. Worst case, could we schedule it for 11/10?"
DJ responds via text: " Congratulations... No problem on 11/10.. I have a few calls in to suppliers of ours.. If there is one day during the week between then and now I will squeeze you in.."
So on Wednesday 11/7, I call DJ to confirm again for Saturday, 11/10 (we had already confirmed by the texts you see above, where DJ says "No problem on 11/10"). On Thursday 11/8 at 12:54pm, DJ sends me the following text: " Can not do Saturday.. I will ck the schedule when I get to office to see if 12th is opeb." This is less than 48 hours from the scheduled start time. Another last minute cancellation from DJ and Wilson Landscape Design.
I send him a few texts, including: "Please make the 12th work by any means necessary. You can imagine my disappointment after clearing two saturdays for this, with my wedding in between."
I get this response from DJ, which is extremely unprofessional, especially given our appointments that he confirmed (this is where the earlier text I noted comes into play): "I told you from day one that we do not work on Saturday.. I had it scheduled for two weeks ago and the stone company could not deliver.. I have no control of them.. I will see when I get to office if Monday is available
So instead of an apology, I get that text. So my last text to DJ at Wilson Landscape Design was: " You did mention you don't typically do Saturdays, but in both cases you said you would make it work and scheduled those dates with me. Let me know ASAP pls."
Needless to say, I won't be proceeding with Wilson Landscape Design. They gave me a reasonable quote (it took them almost 3 weeks for the quote), but after two months of getting the run-around, plus with the lack of professionalism exhibited by DJ, I will have to pass. It seems that many are happy with their work, but if you are reading this, I hope you will reconsider whether or not you should even call them. An apology from DJ and or Wilson Landscape Design would be nice, but it's still two months later and I need to restart the process of getting quotes.
