  • Austin Overhead Door Company installed our LiftMaster Elite with WIFI and Battery backup in February of 2017. I was skeptical on whether I would really need WIFI for a garage door opener. Well I was sooo wrong. The LiftMaster App is awesome. I can open the door remotely from anywhere. We never have to worry about going on a trip and wondering if we close the garage door. I just open the app and check. Austin Overhead Door Company came out today to look at the keypad in the garage. It started having power issues out of the blue. Well they came out, I opened garage remotely (no need to give them PIN for outdoor keypad) and Bill went in and fixed the item. No charge, warranty covered the fix of a broken wire. Austin Overhead Door Company does a GREAT job again! They put their customers first and are the real professionals in the garage door market!

  • We reached out to Jodi because she is a Horticulture Therapist and I wanted some advice on good things to do for my back issues and easy access so I can garden. She brought not only her design and Landscaping expertise, but she's a Holistic person too and gave me a great plan for diet, improving my sleep, and dealing with stress. Definitely gonna use her again. Am learning a lot and glad she extended her services.

  • Contracted to have the spring replaced. Allan arrived on time and called ahead to let us know he would be there soon. Repair was completed very quickly. Not only did Allan replace the spring as requested, he checked all bolts, lubricated all friction areas, checked all components and even checked and adjusted the garage door opener. Not only did he not try to sell me parts that I did not need, he gave me tips to extend the life of all the parts. I have dealt with other garage door companies in the past and by far this was the best experience I have had. Here is a key for you: When you compare this company to others on Angie's list, don't just compare the satisfied comments but compare the prices charged. You will find some with consistent good comments and satisfaction but look to see if what they have charged is consistently high or are there many cases where the price is low. That will tell you as it did with me on this company that they are not replacing parts that do not need replaced. I am very pleased I choose All Area Overhead!!

  • Excellent work on the patio. The problem I had was that they over sprayed onto my siding and have not returned to correct the problem though they have been contacted twice and said they would come and fix the situation. Their inaction with this problem after almost two years has skewed my responses in my rating.

  • Bottom line is that I think we ended up with a good fence and the pricing was fair. Communication was lacking and there was some inattention to detail that I ended up addressing myself. I believe that DBC is capable of quality work but dealing with them can be time consuming due to poor communication and follow-up. You'll need to have a lot of patience and be sure to carefully inspect your fence before the crew leaves your property. I have more fencing work to be done in the near future and I'm undecided whether to use them again. The whole reason for hiring fencing contractors was because I just don't have time to do the work myself. In the end we are happy with the fence they built but it would have been nice if things had gone smoother with scheduling and keeping us in the loop.
    The good:
DBC Fence replaced the fencing along the front of our home. The existing cedar picket fence was falling apart due to age and storm damage. Two new gates were built and wooden posts were replaced with steel posts. The quoted price was fair and competitive with other quotes we received, particularly considering the gates. The demolition and rebuild was done quickly once the crew was onsite. The crew was polite, answered questions, and did a decent job of keeping the working area clean and free of debris. It looked like they dug post holes nice and deep and mixed concrete onsite using a generous amount. The materials appeared to be good quality, the fence looked great when they were done and the gates opened smoothly.
    The not so good:
Communication wasn't the greatest with this company. While someone arrived in a timely manner to do measurements the actual written quote took over a week to arrive due to "computer problems." That wasn't a huge deal since it wasn't an emergency but it turned out to be indicative of future communication. There were some delays in getting our project started due to weather, no fault of DBC. On the day our job was supposed to start, we weren't given an estimated arrival time and my wife waited around the house all day until the crew finally arrived near the end of the day. On the first day new posts were set and the crew said they would be back on Saturday to finish. I didn't expect anyone to work over the weekend but that was their call. For some reason they stacked all the old fence panels by the street in front of our house before leaving. No idea why they didn't do the haul away but I figured no big deal if they were coming back the next day. We waited until late afternoon Saturday and called to check in. We were told that the crew would return Sunday instead. Odd, but OK. So we waited around the house Sunday and that didn't happen either. The crew ultimately didn't return until late Monday and the old fence debris was on our front lawn the whole weekend and most of Monday. Monday evening the fence was complete and looked OK on initial inspection. The next weekend I went to water seal the fence and and noticed a couple of things that bothered me. First, the pickets were secured to 3 cross beams and the middle of the pickets were nailed with a single nail while the top and bottom received the usual two nails. I don't know if this is a big deal but it seemed odd. Conserving nails? Second, I noticed that there appeared to be quite a few lag screws missing on the brackets that secured the cross beams to the metal posts. There  are two holes for screws on the brackets and about half the holes only a single screw was used. The use of one vs two screws was kind of haphazard. Again, I don't know it this is a big deal but it seemed sloppy. I emailed DBC initially and didn't get a response after about a week. I called and left a voice mail and didn't get a response after a few days. I called again and got a hold of Steve the owner. He apologized and said he'd come back out that Friday and take a look. Friday came and went and nobody came out. I called and left another message. I got a call back from Rachel a few days later saying that the guys would come out that morning. Nope, nobody came out. I decided it was going to be easier to just address it myself. It only took about 15 minutes and I used about 40 screws. Not a huge deal and maybe it doesn't affect structural integrity of the fence - I don't know. It seemed like we got blown off on this issue. Considering that DBC knew we were planning on doing more fence work (they quoted for the additional work to be done later in the year) I'm puzzled by this. I'm left not certain I'd hire them to do the next fence section.

  • Only problem was they somehow left me off the schedule the day of my appointment. Waited until 4:30 and called them. They did get someone out to my house before 6 pm. Technician was super nice and apologized for the appointment error. Service was fine once he got here.

  • Eddie was very responsive when initially contacted. It seems that he was definitely motivated and wanted to get the job done ASAP. I was a little concerned at that time but now, I see it as a bad omen that I should have stopped there.  After negotiating a price, I gave the down payment to Eddie as a check made out to him (versus the business). He claimed that he was in the middle of a divorce and that's why the check would need to be made out to him. He contacts me later saying that he can't cash it and needs me to write another check, to another person. I did and the date was set. So, in all fairness, Eddie lined up the job very quickly and, on the day of the pour/finish showed up and asked for the final check as the concrete was being poured. He assured me that his team would finish the job and that several days after they would come back and remove the forms/cleanup.  Well, that's when things went south. The crew (of which none spoke English well enough to communicate) messed up the salt finish in the middle of the biggest part (no hiding it) and the crew failed to make one of the crack joints,   I notified Eddie immediately and was told, and I quote, "I stand by my work. It will be fixed".  The crew returned to remove the forms and cleanup but left without removing the stakes, left behind rebar and wire and didn't finish the concrete (i.e. the overpour). Then the Texas Flood of 2015 occurred. I believe that I was very patient and understanding during this time and after two weeks of no communication, I finally reached out. After numerous attempts of reaching Eddie with either no response or an excuse when it did suit him to respond, I'm pretty certain that I'm going to have to contact an attorney or file a claim to get this resolved
Overall, a very simple job, poorly executed and with no followup/customer service. While I do have another 803 sq ft of patio that looks "ok", the job site still needs to be cleaned up and the concrete that doesn't have the same finish as the rest.  If he does so, I'll be happy to up my rating.

  • We're so happy to finally have a garage door opener!  Ishmael was right on time for the install appointment.  He was professional, very personable, and completed the installation quickly.  Fantastic experience!

  • We bought the package for roller replacement but ended up needing new doors all together. If you think you might need new doors, have them out first - the package doesn't allow for transfers so I lost the $99 spent for roller replacement and tune-up.

  • After purchasing this deal, I phoned the service provider to discuss the work I needed complete. I spoke with Oscar who quotes the cost for the work  will be over $3500 more. I was very confused on the extra cost , due to  the fine print did not state anything he was discussing, and the job had not been reviewed. He explained that there was going to be an  extra fee for demolition, although the deal I purchased included demolition with the cost. I decided not to use this service provider for this deal due to the extra cost and the lack of honesty.
