I didn't hear from him or anyone else for 3 weeks, I called, he didn't return my call, so I sent an e-mail that no one responded to  and I was pretty worried when a few days later I got a call from a guy named Dave telling me my pendant was ready! I was shocked because I had no idea what it was going to look like. It had been promised in 4 weeks, it twice that.

He had been told to return any unused stones. So I went ahead and paid him. When it arrived I opened the box and thought "oh no". It was very large (I'm a tiny woman) and it had way too many diamonds on it. It was made in his signature design and in the box it was quite a sight, but on me,it was awful. The placement of the diamonds was a problem, every open space there was a diamond stuck there it was gaudy. It drew everyone's eye, the look on their face said it all, they just looked away.

I looked at the appraisal and the diamonds had been downgraded in quality  and some diamonds were returned in a bag marked "chipped" with no explanation. I called Dave and he offered to re-do the appraisal to match the other 2 that I had but when I received that he had over valued them and I was very suspicious of this. I also asked him if I could send it back to be re-styled and he said yes.

. I wanted to see mark in person to do this so I waited until they came back to town but I was sick that weekend and I couldn't get off the couch so I had to call him. I was worried about hurting his feelings. He told me he couldn't discuss a new design until I sent back the piece so he could see what he was working with.  I sent it back with a detailed note of what I wanted and a photo of one of his own designs asking for that one made to my specifications. I asked to speak with him directly and not have to go through other people.

3 weeks went by I finally sent an e-mail and some time later it was responded to by someone name Paula. She said she had received the piece but had told her assistant to contact me. Having asked to speak to Mark directly, this was starting off poorly. She promised to call me on Monday, but didn't. She stonewalled me for over two months. E-mails went unanswered. Mark did call once and said I couldn't have that design because my diamonds were too big which made no sense.  He sent some odd sketches that looked like cartoons, I had asked them to be done to scale. I finally crossed out what he put, replaced it with what I wanted, it was very clear. It took him 2 weeks to respond to that and he still acted like he had no idea what materials he was working with.

My letter stated that I would pay him again for his labor, and after almost 3 months he told me it would be another 6 weeks. My husband said we'd waited long enough and texted him to return the piece to us and we'd go elsewhere. Mark got right back to my husband and said he now knew what I wanted and he would do it for free of charge, so we agreed.

All of the pieces I traded in were sentimental to me and after all this waiting and unsatisfactory customer service the jewelry I finally received is not what I chose. The diamonds in the pendant are not my diamonds, they are much smaller and inferior in quality. I'm missing a whole carat full of diamonds. I've had some of them for many years, I paid insurance premiums for many years . The bale on the pendant is so small I can't get my chain through it. The diamond in the earring is chipped. The earrings are just weird because they are two different patterns and sizes. What woman wears earrings that don't make a set? In my letter I said I didn't want the earrings to match the pendant exactly, not each other!

Every time I opened his FB page, he was posting new items, but he was too busy to make mine.

He's been less than truthful and very unprofessional. When I spoke my mind about all of this, he refused to satisfy me in any way. Instead, he threatened to sue me for harassment if I spoke of his company again or even attempted to contact him again. I am $4000 upside down on this transaction.

He can't take my property and do as he wishes with it. I feel like I have been robbed at gunpoint. I'm stuck with ugly jewelry that looks like it was made by a 12 year old. The "pendant" and the earrings are unwearable. His brochure says "wearable art". He is a fraud and a liar.

I'm sharing this experience because I can't be the first person he has done this to and I hope no one else has to go through this.

After visiting other Jewelers that quoted the damage to my wife's ring at around $400-500, we searched and found March Jewelers. The ring was slightly bent out of shape and one of the side stones was knocked out; we believe it all happened from a sonic jewelry cleaner. But when we walked into March Jewelers, they looked at the ring with confidence said it could be repaired in 30-40 minutes and for only the price of replacing the small side stone - $45 - WOW. We promptly returned after about 30 minutes and the ring was completely fixed and looked like new. Others had quoted us expensive prices and that it would take 1-2 weeks to complete, but March Jewelers came through it a GREAT WAY! They were awesome and I would return again with repairs for jewelry.
