    AJ Locksmith and Security
The main problem was that the dispatcher didn't communicate well with the locksmith. It took nearly 3 hours before he got here. When he got here, the locksmith was apologetic, polite, and professional. He fixed the lock quickly at a reasonable price. He gave me a $20 discount because of the lateness. Also, the name on the locksmith's shirt and on the receipt was different from the name given on Angie's List.

Brent was the tech that was assigned to me and he was awesome. He went straight to work and assessed my doors and as he was changing my locks noticed that they were not properly locking, so he fixed the situation. He also was giving me security tips and showing me how the locks / door knobs actual work. I was thankful to get this information. I would recommend Michael's Keys to anyone and everyone.

Back in December I used this company right after we moved into a new home. After we moved in, I took some time off work so the fact that they came out an hour late didn't affect me as much. This morning, as soon as they opened, I called to set up an appointment to have the three doors re-keyed. I was given a window of two hours between 2:00-4:00 PM on April 12th. I left work early to be home for them so that they could come do what they had to. At 3:50 PM I received a call, exactly like last December, letting me know that they were running behind and that they would be at my home around 5:30 PM. This time, however, it is extremely frustrating that they were late especially since I made extra effort to be at the house on time for them. Yet again, they used the excuse of "we're running behind" to explain away not showing up when they said they would. During this conversation, I challenged the technician who called saying that this is exactly what happened last time. I also explained that this time it affected me badly as I had to leave work early to be there on time. After saying this, the technician through the phone down and cut the call off. I feel that this company should be held accountable for their schedule. They need to realize that working customers make time from their schedules too. Continued missed appointment windows are costly and frustration for customers. Because of this, I would not recommend this company nor would I use them again.

He was extremely courteous. Called 30 min before the appointment window to let us know that he's appointments were running late. Came and changed the locks in no time! Very professional and well prepared. We wanted to make last minute changes and he was able to deliver! You won't go wrong with these guys.

Overall was a great experience.  Seemed a bit expensive considering how long it took and how quickly he did it, but considering how long it would take me to replace 5 locks myself and the cost of buying locks at a home depot or lowes, it was well worth it.  I explained what I needed done, where the locks were, and that I even needed a strike plate adjusted on the back door and he was very quick to get the job done which I appreciate with everything going on with other things being done at our new home.  Thank you again and would highly recommend you again to others!

The service went well. They were responsive and came out the day after I called. One technician came out and got everything taken car of in one day. He made sure everything was working correctly. He was nice, efficient and neat in his work. He completed the job in about an hour and a half.

We purchased a new home and bought new locks and deadbolts. They came out within an hour of calling them and installed the new locks and deadbolts and re-keyed everything to one key.
Fantastic customer service. I had used them before and will use them again.

It went pretty well. It was a good experience. He did really quality work. He came back and checked on it. It took a little while because he did different layers on the door and would let them dry. He was pretty good. We split the quote up a little bit as he did the certain jobs. He was really professional.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was awesome. He was a good guy. He helped me out. I asked him a bunch of questions and he pretty much answered most of my questions. I purchased additional stuff from him while he was here so I spent an additional $100.

    Best Locksmith

I have rental property and the tenant had just moved out. My wife called A Star Locksmith and Rafael showed up right on time on the same day of the call. Rafael provided an estimate of the work before he arrived. Rafael was very personable and professional and completed the work and made sure I reviewed and approved the quality of his work. I had numerous questions about possibly installing other types of locks (Internet/wireless, Bluetooth, Home Security enabled) and Rafael was very knowledgeable was a great resource to understand what's out on the market from various vendors and his own experience with which brands seem to have the most issues from his experience and customer feedback. When deciding to write this review with Angie's list I did notice one reviewer that rated Rafael an "F" and made some extremely disturbing accusations. I have been an avid user of Angie's list for the past year as I have various rental property and rely on Angie's list to find quality providers that I can trust. I was so surprised at this Subscriber's disturbing review that I decided to further investigate Rafael on my own via Intellisus which is a background investigation tool which I use to screen my tenant applicants. I found no issues with Rafael. No past criminal history. No past litigations. Rafael's background was spotless. Because I care about the quality and authenticity of reviews posted on Angie's list, I decided to post a concern to Angie's list for that particular Subscriber comment. Below was my post to Angie's list (I would encourage other reviewers like me to post their concerns to Angie's list regarding this particular subscriber's suspiciously in authentic "F" review:

I am an Angies List subscriber and have used Angies List for over the past year and have had great success in finding quality companies that deliver quality services and products. Unfortunately clearly bogus posts and unverified accusations can unfairly destroy the reputation of a quality company. I have recently procured services from A Star Locksmith and met the owner Rafael and he in no way resembles the depiction portrayed by this suspicious user. I have no doubt that the review posted by this user is false and slanderous. I would urge Angies List to either investigate this issue and verify the claims of this user are true or remove the post as it clearly and unfairly creating a sense of fear and at the very least unreasonable doubt for potential consumers reviewing and thinking about procuring services from A Star Locksmith. Just some observations about this post by this user: 1) The user states that they paid over $1000.00 upfront before any work was started. I find this very hard to believe that anyone would pay any contractor the entire fee upfront before any work is even started. My experience with A Star Locksmith as well as another Locksmith I recently used in Rockville, Maryland was that payment to the locksmith is provided after the work is reviewed and completed. 2) The user claims to be an Attorney, if this user was truly an Attorney there would be civil charges filed against A Star Locksmith or at the very least a Small Claims court case seeking recovery of damages of which neither exists in the public record when conducting a background investigation using Intelisus 3) For me the final proof that this user's claim is bogus is that their is no complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau website and A Star Locksmith has an A rating. Again, I would urge Angie's list to further investigate and remove this user's review as it is misleading subscribers and doing a disservice to consumers that are relying on authentic reviews to make an educated decision on verifiable and truthful reviews.
