    Grice, Dr. David L
Dr. Grice is a CREEP! As a new patient I walked in and proceeded to the sign-in window. The woman sitting in front of the window looked at me several times and never even acknowledged that I was there. Finally said I have a 4:00 appointment and tried handing her my paper work I had filled out before coming in. She very angrily said I'll be with you when I can. After about a 20 minute wait a woman pops out and asks me to come back. She was semi-friendly so I felt a little better as she asked me several questions before leaving the exam room. About 15 minutes later a male assistant walks in and is very friendly and explains he'll ask some questions and he examined me briefly without disrobing even after I told him my melanoma was all over my body. As nice as he was the exam was rushed and very brief and he said the doctor would be in shortly. The doctor finally walks in right past me without even saying hello or intruding himself. This Grice guy takes the prize of any doctor I've ever experienced as the most rude and hostile and the worst bedside manner I've experienced in my 56 years. He never examined me, would not listen to any of my history or previous diagnosis and said he'll decide what my condition is. Talk about a god complex!!! Then he told me to come back for tests. As I approached the desk to pay my co-pay and set up another appointment, the same woman who was so obnoxious was even worse this time. I just told her I'll call back and walked out in a complete daze after what just happened.

He was okay. I am not sure that I would go back to him. I don't have any specifics, I just didn't warm up to him and he didn't seem all that interested. He didn't help me get rid of the rash either, he just asked me to keep a watch on it. It comes back and goes away; I still don't know what it is.

Dr. Hoang provided counseling and analysis in a very efficient and sympathetic manner.  She wrote three prescriptions and provided discount cards for two of them and even distributed two small, sample tubes of the one product.  (One year later) I subsequently discovered that this was very fortunate because the medications were expensive and not completely reimbursed by my insurance company. The nature of skin rashes and the treatment of sun damaged, possible pre-cancerous spots, makes it impossible to provide an accurate estimation of the effectiveness of the treatment plan.  My appointment was only a week ago and the continued treatments must be ongoing for some weeks to come.  My assumption is that both of my skin problems will improve.  (One year later) I have since realized that two of my original complaints were never actually resolved.  I am left with sun damaged areas that still feel rough and I still have what can best be described as a long-term case of "jock itch."   As to the sun damaged areas, they were treated with "freezing" with liquid nitrogen when the medications seemed initially ineffective.  Those freezing treatments took about six minutes and the original billed amount was, I believe, $386!  Since both my office visits and subsequent treatments and the medications were VERY expensive, I have subsequently become disappointed with my overall experience and am revising my original ratings.  I assume that the precancerous lesion which was biopsied and eventually removed is permanently gone. My problems were related to skin pathologies but I guessed from the posters in her waiting rooms that she also deals with beauty or rejuvenation related skin issues.  (One year later)  It may very well be that her practice is more geared toward anti-aging and beauty treatments like Botox injections, etc.  The practice was the recommended provider from my insurance company so I went there without recommendations from any other source or from friends.

The first experience with Joe the PA went OK. My son - 18 years old - had several large, dark moles on his back and had severe sunburns in the past. Joe looked at the moles and stated they looked fine (noncancerous), but then asked what was our concerns. He said we could go ahead and remove the moles so we would not have to worry about them anymore. My son is now 21 and the scars have reduced in visibility slightly, but they are still noticable. Now, after the fact, I wished we did not have the moles removed, but in no way did Joe pressure us to remove the moles - it was our decision. The acne treatment greatly helped. We were given samples and prescriptions - Differin cream for Morning application and BenzaClin for bedtime application and told to wash his face twice a day with a mild cleanser. This regimen made a huge differerence in the appearance of the acne and very quickly. The experience with my second son was with Dr Grice. He very quickly looked at the mole and then focused on the acne. We were given prescriptions and discount coupons for the prescriptions as well as Neutrogena face wash samples. The prescription was for Epiduo cream to apply after washing his face and for Adoxa, an antibiotic pill. This was different - a pill for acne. Dr Grice explained that a particular type of bacteria is often present in acne. The prescription was very expensive - can't remember - but the coupon helped. I don't think this regimen helped nearly as much as the first regimen for my older son. Plus the antibiotic pill was much more expensive. I wanted to go back to discuss other treatments, but my son didn't want to. I can't make him treat his acne and he wanted to just "outgrow it". Overall, both experiences were very positive. Some people might not like have a Physcian's Assistant treat them, but I have no problem with it. This PA was a bit more interactive than most Doctors. He listened to us and asked us questions. As a female and mom, I liked that; my son hated it! We did go back for follow up to check healing on the removed mole sites. We had no problems. The experience with Dr Grice went fine. He was not abrupt, like some Doctors I've seen. He did spend a breif time talking with us and explaining the medications he was prescribing. I definitely recommend Dr Grice for any skin issues. His office, in South Grand Prairie, is very easy to get to from I20. He is the only physcian at this location. The waiting room was never crowded the times I went about 3-4 pm on a weekday.

Dr. RICK WILSON K MD PA
Excellent. Dr. Wislon did a biopsy and was able to make the scar so small you can barely notice it. I feel extremely lucky with the result as I have friends that had similar procedures that left very noticeable scars. The cosmetic side is a big deal to a woman. I highly recommend Dr. Wilson.

He did excellent work. He was recommended to me by another physician. He is a very nice and caring man. His nurses are lovely and very caring. The quality of his work is excellent. He made himself available to me after hours if I needed it. He answers his phone.

    Menter, Dr. Alan
Dr. Alan Menter's is not very personable but his treatment was effective because I haven't had a problem since, he's knowledgeable, and very good at what he does. The staff was nice.

Now I am going to always wear sunscreen when outdoors and I have to go see him once a year for a checkup. But we are glad he was so thorough and made me get it done.
