Abandoned, scared, alone, and deceived! I am afraid to go back there. I have been made to feel unimportant and unwelcomed due to the questions I have had in regards to my after care. I will try to make this as short as possible.
    * I had an EGD prior to my surgery. I have never had a procedure where your family member was not allowed to come back while you waited for your procedure to be done. It was like an assembly line, very uncomfortable feeling. Another first for me was the doctor not talking to you and your family member after the procedure. We had to ask to talk to Dr. Frenzel, and even at that it was as if we were imposing.
    * Day of surgery, August 6th 2014. I saw Dr. Frenzel just before my procedure, prior to going under. I have NOT seen or talked to him since, regardless of the number of times we have called, and problems I have had.
    * After the surgery my family was never called back to the recovery room; like we were told would happen. I honestly believe it was due to an over abundance of anesthesia. It took over three hours for me to come to; and even longer to be coherent.
    * I was having a horrible reaction while in the hospital, something was wrong. However the nurse just kept telling me that nothing was wrong, it was all in my head, and it's just part of having surgery. I could not convince her that something was wrong, she just kept ignoring my concerns. Shortly after that I had some sort of bad spell or reaction while Dr. Frenzel's associate physician was there. Right after that the nurse comes back in with a shot to put in my IV and says, and quot;man you must be really bad, she never gives this to anyone...I mean never.and quot; Just another example of being ignored, and dismissed.
    * Before the surgery Dr. Frenzel told my husband and I that I would have a scan prior to being released from the hospital; to make sure everything was ok and all went well, no leaks or anything. I never had a scan and never saw Dr. Frenzel...stil. My release from the hospital was the associate physician and quot;callingand quot; me on the phone and asking me if I wanted to go home. I never saw her again after the spell I had. I have no idea if I had/have leaks or not, I was never tested like Dr. Frenzel said I would be. Again, no care or concern for the patient. And not getting what I paid for; no telling how much that cost. Remember I paid in full in advance.
    * I ended up going to the ER three different times within the three days after my release from the hospital. My husband called Dr. Frenzel several times, but never got to talk to him. It was either his assistant, or nurse. This went on for THREE DAYS!! We were very nervous and scared! Dr. Frenzel never called us back to see how I was doing or anything. An evident display of no bedside manners, or concern.
    * I went through pure he_l during the first two weeks and I had no one to call. It was useless calling Dr. Frenzel; and his assistant, Roya, was cold and callous. After my very short encounter with her on the phone I realized the conversation was not heading in a positive manner. I had been belittled enough during this terrible process; I ended the conversation with a and quot;thank you for your time, you have a good day, good bye.and quot; Roya did eventually call back, and her first comment was and quot;you hung up on me.and quot; My comment was and quot;I told you to have a good day, and I ended the conversation.and quot; There is a difference. I explained to her how I had been treated, and how my concerns have been dismissed, and that I wasnt feeling well and I just didnt feel like going through it again.
    * My follow up appointment with and quot;Dr. Frenzeland quot; was just an extension of the lack of care I have received all along. I called the office on August 20th to confirm my appointment on August 22nd WITH Dr. Frenzel. I was told yes that they had me down. I said and quot;with Dr. Frenzel?and quot; And she said yes. I asked twice to make sure it was with him. I STILL have not talked to him or seen him since they put me under for the procedure. Then about a day or so later their office called and asked if I could come in early, I obliged. My husband and I got there early as we stated we would. After we got in the room a lady comes in and stretches out her hand and says hello. I shook her hand and said hello back. She never introduced herself, I had no idea who she was. Come to find out it was Dr. Frenzels assistant, Roya. I found this out after I asked her if she is the one who told me over the phone that 99 is not a fever. I asked her if I was going to have to repeat everything to Dr. Frenzel when he got in the room. She said and quot;you want to see Dr. Frenzel?and quot; I said and quot;yes, that's who my appointment was with.and quot; She said well he's here but hes busy, he's in a meeting with a lawyer. I said and quot;but I called ahead of time to confirm my appointment would be with him.and quot; She said well he's busy. I said and quot;we also came in early due to yalls request. Would it have made any difference if we would have kept our original appointment time?and quot; She said no. I just looked at her in total bewilderment. I could'nt believe what was happening. She finally said and quot;do you want me to see if Dr. Frenzel can see you?and quot; I siad and quot;yes, please.and quot; It was almost as if she just walked out of the room and walked right back in, then she said and quot;no he can't see you.and quot; I was shocked to say the least! I then asked her and quot;does Dr. Frenzel even know all the times we have called, all the issues I have had, that I never got my scan before leaving the hospital, etc.?and quot; Her response was and quot;I dont know.and quot; In my opinion I believe she gave me a false statement. She is one of his assistants, how could she not know? Why the secrecy, why the confrontational attitude, why the avoidance from my doctor? It just leads me to believe that maybe something went wrong during surgery and he's avoiding me. Why else would your physician intentinally avoid their patient? As we were in the room talking to Roya (I apologize for the informality, but that's all I know her as) my husband was trying to explain to her about the length of time it took me to come out of the anestheia. He was trying to find the words, and he said anesthetic. She had a smug look on her face and came back with an arrogant attitude of and quot;you mean anesthia?and quot; It's pretty plain what he meant, no need to be haughty. After watching her facial expressions, and listening to her, I finally just said and quot;she doesn't care, none of them care.and quot; And as we got up to leave, her silence was admittance to me that she did'nt care.
    * I am still alone medically during my recovery process. I have questions and concersn, and no one to turn to. I have had anxiety and crying spells, not to mention worry over what to do. I have already paid up front for everything, I can't just go to another doctor, and I can't rely on Dr. Frenzel. I can't even see him or talk to him. It has been over a month now since my surgery and I dont know if I have any leaks since the procedure, I don't know if any of my symptoms are normal or a concern, I don't feel like I can call them. I did what the paperwork said to do that they gave me; if you have such and such symptoms call your doctor; I did, my doctor does'nt care. So where does that leave me? Right where I am, alone.
    * And if it's not bad enough that I have paid for services I have not received, and that I won't receive, I am being billed for service dates of which I never even at their office! I should not be receiving a bill AT ALL, much less for dates that I was at home. I have not paid the bills, but I did send a letter inquiring as to what the bill is for. Unfortunantly I believe whole heartedly that my letter will be over looked, and I will more than likely continue to receive bills from Dr. Frenzel's office, and/or associates.
    * Not only am I receiving bills, Dr. Frenzel's office has refused me the opportunity to get paid by my employer. I was off of work for three weeks and my employer gave me some paper work to be completed by my doctor so I could get paid for my time off. I faxed the papers in to his office with the required due date requested by my employer; they have not returned them. So due to their lack of care, or unorganization, I will not get paid. And why? It should'nt take an act of congress just to simply have paperwork completed and faxed back in.
    * Dr. Frenzel's advertisements say he is with you the whole step of the way, and his staff is so caring. You tell me, does it sound like he is with you; or that his staff cares? Is he really this uncaring, unaware of what his patients are dealing with? I don't know, I sure hope not. But I only have my experience to go by. I'm not a patient to them, I'm just another number. I need my post-op care, and I can't even go there. I feel I am just a nuisance to them and unwelcomed. I can't handle that type of treatment, it's not worth the anxiety it puts me through.
    * At this point all I want is to be reimbursed for the services I did not receive; ie the post-op scan. I want reimbursement for all of the follow up post-op. I need these finances to find another doctor. Also, I do not want anymore bills sent to me; I have paid enough financially and emotionally. They have already caused me to miss two and a half weeks of pay because of paperwork. How in the world can something like that be totally dismissed?
    * The reason form my scoring.
    1. F - Obvious
    2. F - I can not see or talk to my doctor
    3. C - The office is old and crampt, but the front desk people are nice
    4. C - Most of the time I did not have to wait too long
    5. D - One assistant was decent over the phone, the other uncaring
    6. F - Very lacking in bedside manner all around
    7. F - No communication
    8. C - This could possibly be an and quot;Aand quot; but I have not been checked out, I don't know. Dr. Frenzel may have performed a great surgery, I honestly can't say. I am doing much better now, but that does not negate the lack of care I have endured
    9. F - Im getting bills; and paper work not turned in
