    Southwest Interiors Window Coverings
We love our new shutters and wish that we had them installed years ago. David came to the house. He was very professional and made some great suggestions. Our installer, Billy, was easy to work with and very respectful. I have already recommended Southwest to our daughter who recently moved into a new home. I highly recommend anyone wanting some awesome shutters to call David at Southwest.

    DECORATORS DELIGHT
Excellently! Decorators Delight's Sandy Grimes reviewed our needs, made recommendations, ordered the needed shutters and piloted an on-time, very professional installation. We are very pleased with the outcome and find Angie's List's plaudits, relating to Decorators Delight, well deserved!

    DECORATORS DELIGHT
Great. Shutters look awesome from both inside and outside. Couldn't ask for more better. The service was excellent as well. It look a little longer but worth the wait. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

    Rita's Custom Drapery LLC
Rita was very friendly on the phone, and offered to come to my house to look over my patio and figure out the best way to meet my needs.  She showed up right on time, and was a delight to talk with.  She made numerous suggestions regarding the best way to proceed, and make extensive measurements to be sure everything would fit properly.  She gave me several pricing options, and once we settled on a design, she gave me a turnaround time estimate of several weeks.  I gave her a deposit of half the total cost, and she delivered the finished curtains back to me on the short side of the time frame she had given me.  Rita is a joy to work with and really knows what she's doing.  She pays attention to detail and obviously wants the job done right.  I would certainly use her again, and would recommend her highly.

    Sewell Shutters Inc
Overall it was a good experience.  All the people I dealt with were terrific. They did what they said they were going to do and at the time they promised.  Excellent to work with.  Would highly recommend.
One suggestion though - Steve could benefit from some training on how to work with everyone and exhibit slightly less arrogance.

    DraperyKing
We are very pleased with the final products:  Seven 4 1/2-inch white shutters in the Dining Room and Breakfast Area and one white 2 1/2-inch wood blind in the Kitchen.  The shutters especially are beautiful, fit and operate perfectly, and appear very well made.  David was wonderful throughout the entire process, responding promptly to my many emails.  Most aspects of the ordering, measuring, and installation process went very well.  The wood blinds were delivered and installed within one week.  The biggest problem was the delivery time for the shutters.  We were told 6 to 8 weeks delivery time because the shutters are manufactured in China, but it actually took 3 whole months for the shutters to arrive.  This was apparently due to the problem with a workers strike on the docks of the entire West Coast and the resulting backup of container deliveries.  While I hope those workers improved their lives, it was very frustrating to us to have to wait so long to cover our naked windows.  This was not Drapery King's fault, and David was as frustrated as we were.  We love David and would not hesitate to order from Drapery King again.  In fact, I am sure that we will.

    Solar Screens Plus
Excellent.  Eddie is very professional and communicated quickly on email and phone.  We had to reschedule several times because of weather problems and Eddie had no problems with my schedule. The screen installed on the door (which has wood with a big plane of glass in the middle) is strong and firm. Phifer SunTex 90% with 5/16" x 1" frames were installed and looks perfect with a dark brown color. The frames were installed with nice metal corners (FYI: I was avoiding the plastic corners that one other company proposed because the plastic corners fade and crack in the sun and the inserts are flimsy and can break easily.) With four of the windows and the door facing the west here in Texas I'm sure I'm save this summer.

    Decorating on a Shoe String
I WOULD NOT recommend Ginny Andrews of Decorating on a Shoe String for any design/decorating/remodeling/etc. work.  She bills herself as someone who has "morphed" into turn-key residential remodeling and commercial design.  If you are looking for reputable and warrantied remodeling work, hire a licensed, experienced contractor.  We had problems every step of the way with Ginny and her "sub-contractors" after we purchased a 30 year old home that needed updating and remodeling....to the tune of over $25,000 by the time we were done with Ginny.  She was rarely present to oversee or "sign-off" on the work done in our home.....carpentry work, wood floor, electrical fixture and bathroom vent installation, tile backsplash installation and custom plantation shutters.  Her carpenter built "custom" mirrors for our bathrooms on walls that were not level and added shelves and clothes rods and doors for the master closet.  The mirrors had to be re-done 3 times, and we were left with huge mirrors that are now pulling away from the walls and coming apart at the seams and have a distorted reflection - much like a fun house. We were also left with holes in the wall where the mirrors were removed and reattached to the wall.  We were told to have our painters (not hired by Ginny - we wised up by that time) to repair the holes and to also fill in the cracks at the mirror corners (not mitered well!), even though the painter had nothing to do with those issues.  We waited three weeks for a transition to be made from the new wood closet floor to the existing travertine in the master bath, and then Ginny tried to pass off white, textured, raised tile as matching the travertine tile in our bathrooms - which was tan/brown and flat - completely different tile.  Plus, using tile to do the transition would have necessitated tearing up existing tile (more money for Ginny) when we specifically asked for a wood transition (no tile tear-up, less money for Ginny).  We won that battle but it took another week of staining and re-staining the transition to get it right.  It was up to us to inspect work as it was completed, and when it wasn't done well, Ginny always supported the sub contractors and made excuses for them rather than supporting her paying clients.  She demanded pay for overseeing shutter installation that she was not present for and never called to check on.  Her carpenter (Dean) refused to complete agreed upon work on our baseboards because he "simply wasn't willing to do it" per Ginny.  My understanding is that he wasn't pleased that we had issues with his shoddy work.  We now have wood floor boards that have cracked, but Ginny refuses to put me in contact with the floor guy (Jay Bryant Floors).  I have tried to contact him myself but I'm sure he has been told by Ginny not to return our calls.  I have asked for the warranty information on the floors and other work that was done, but Ginny will not supply that information to us.  My perception is that Ginny is upset or angry that we were not pleased with some of the work done and after a while we found other sub contractors to do some of the work - painting and windows, which she wasn't happy about since she wouldn't make money off them, I suppose.   I believe that because we were unhappy clients, Ginny refuses to communicate with us and supply us with warranty information.  Basically, she does not stand by her work.  Ginny's bookkeeping and accounting skills were also called into question when she asked for a $2000 payment towards some of the work that I had already paid, two weeks prior.  After my stating that the check had cleared the bank, she admitted that the check had been credited to another client.  We also returned from vacation to find our air conditioner thermostat turned down to 60 degrees, the unit running continuously, but the house temp was nearly 90.  Ginny's  floor installers had turned it down while they were working, left it turned down and the unit broke.  Of course that was our fault, not sure why, but it was.   My husband had tools taken from the house, our pool cleaning unit was clogged and subsequently broke from rag covered in tile grout that was tossed into our pool and the tile powder and left over grout was dumped inside our fence near the pool to "flow" into the alley, rather than disposed of properly.  Ginny said this was standard procedure.  Every "sub contractor" Ginny had in our home left a huge mess when they were done - saw dust everywhere, masking tape residue all over the counter tops, grout on tiles...Ginny said I might want to hire a professional cleaning service if I wanted the house clean after all work was done.  This is a very long review, I could make it longer, there were so many issues, but I'll just say if you are looking for quality, reputable work and someone who stands by their work, do not use Ginny Andrews.

    Rita's Custom Drapery LLC
Rita was very professional and punctual with our appointments for both the initial consultation visit (including measurements & pricing) as well as the installation appointment (she was present and assisted with the installation as well). She made sure everything was done to our satisfaction and we were very pleased -- beautiful work!  I would definitely recommend her and we will use her if/when we have future needs.

    Christy's Draperies
We went to Christy's Draperies in Plano and picked out the drapes we wanted for our master bedroom.  We worked with Gail who provided us with excellent service. The room darkening drapes covering the four windows were provided using our measurements and were ready to pickup at the store's location in less than 2 weeks.  Using the installer suggested by Gail we then had the drapes professionally installed on 8/11/2014.  The entire process was flawless and we would certainly recommend .Christy's to anyone needing this service. Our drapes look fantastic!
