    Roy came by to provide an estimate on 6/13, and he appeared to be very knowledgeable. We agreed on the work to be done, the price, and the start date.  He mentioned that when customers don't pay, they come back and repossess the screens. At the time I found that to be an odd comment, especially as new customer. The installers came on 6/19 and were unable to complete the job, because Roy made a mistake and wrote the wrong percentage down on the measuring sheets. The installers came back on 6/22 and were unable to complete the job because they forgot one of the screens. The job was completed on 6/23. I received the warranty letter on 7/2.
    I am very happy with the solar screens, in that they do keep the house cooler, and look nice. I am extremely disappointed with their customer service, and their mishandling of the install. I sent Roy a text on 6/22 requesting consideration for their mistakes, and if they could toss in 2 additional screens, which would have cost them about $37 each. He did not bother to reply. I called the company line twice and spoke to a guy (didn't catch his name). The first time, he dismissed my concerns, and kept saying "it was an honest mistake".  After the job had been completed, I received a voice mail and called them back, thinking that they were going to offer me a deal. When I called back, I spoke with the same guy, and he asked me about the payment. I told him that I was a man of my word, that unlike them, that I would hold my end of the bargain, and would send payment via check. I then asked him for any consideration due to the company's mishandling of the install, and he started getting rude, and repeating "it was an honest mistake". At one point he told me not to call them back again, to which I replied that the screens have a lifetime warranty, and if I have a problem with them. I would call them. He put Roy on the line, and I asked him if he received my text. He said that he did, and that he referred it to his boss.  As of 8/14, I haven't heard from a company representative.
    Unfortunately, I am unable recommend this company. They have a great product, but the sign of a good company is to step up to satisfy the customer when things don't go well.

    Solar Screens Plus
    Excellent.  Eddie is very professional and communicated quickly on email and phone.  We had to reschedule several times because of weather problems and Eddie had no problems with my schedule. The screen installed on the door (which has wood with a big plane of glass in the middle) is strong and firm. Phifer SunTex 90% with 5/16" x 1" frames were installed and looks perfect with a dark brown color. The frames were installed with nice metal corners (FYI: I was avoiding the plastic corners that one other company proposed because the plastic corners fade and crack in the sun and the inserts are flimsy and can break easily.) With four of the windows and the door facing the west here in Texas I'm sure I'm save this summer.

    We had to wait a couple of weeks from my initial contact with them but that was because of the rain and not the fault of FreeLite.  The men who came to do the job were very polite, worked diligently while they were here and answered all my questions.  Likewise, the lady with whom I spoke on the phone was very friendly and answered my questions without hesitation.  I would not hesitate to recommend them or to use them again if I ever had a need for their services.

    They phoned and arranged a time for the installation and showed up promptly as scheduled. Very professional and courteous. The whole installation took less than an hour and they cleaned up afterwards.
       The only downside:  With the old turbine I could see it turning and knew it was working. This solar one has no visible moving parts and is extremely quiet.  Some sort of indicator that it's working would be nice. Also, I haven't noticed any appreciable reduction of the electric bill. In all fairness, they did tell me, before they installed it, that just the one vent won't make much difference on a house this size and configuration.  I have subsequently had another solar fan installed per their recommendation.  The jury is still out as to electric bill savings.
