  • We at first thought it went pretty good, then once we got in the bathroom to clean we discovered that the wrong color of grout was used on the repair. We called Dario and told him about this and he apologized and said he would send his uncle out the next day to correct. The next day has never come, nor have we heard from Dario. Also the bathroom was a complete mess with dried grout all over the toilet, which was really hard to get off. They were not very good about cleaning up after themselves.

  • After struggling to find a contractor willing to take on our kitchen remodel, we hired Scott Floyd's company. We are very happy with the results. Our project did not involve expanding the kitchen but rather refashioning it within the specific space to better suit our needs while, at the same time, making it look, to our lights, beautiful. And that, Floyd's Construction and Painting certainly accomplished. Among other things, we had Floyd's remove a built-in oven to add a cabinet drawer and an enclosure for a microwave, replace a built-in stovetop with a slide-in range and range hood, and enlarge the refrigerator cabinet. We also had his crew transform our existing cabinets: they thoroughly removed the walnut stain, sanded them to perfection, and after thorough prepping meticulously painted them a rich gray. In addition, Scott made sure that cabinets selected to house fine china would have glass placed within their doors. Scott also oversaw the installation of snow white guartz countertops and the backsplash of gray and white inverted subway tile. The conscientious painting of the trim, the walls, the pantry, and the ceiling; the suggestions regarding lighting and the door to our patio; the cleaning of our existing floors; the rigorous attention to prepping; the installation of the new appliances; and the thorough cleanup afterwards were among the additional aspects of the project professionally carried out by Scott and his men. After hearing horror stories about how long a kitchen remodel takes etc., we felt throughout that the company's focus remained on our project. He and his crew work steadily and carefully, and if something is not done to the highest standards, Scott, as a matter of professional pride and without prompting, has it redone—and redone again, if need be—until those standards are met. All in all, an impressive business with which to work. I'd have no hesitation in recommending his work to others.

  • Mr. Bledsoe and his crew lived up to the A Rating that they have on Angie's List. After we had sheetrock torn down because of Mold Remediation, we got 3 bids for doing the work. Mr. Bledsoe's came with the best recommendation via Angie's List and was also the most affordable despite him saying that his was likely to be higher than others because they specialize in painting. Mr. Bledsoe actually had his schedule open up and they started about 10 days earlier than we'd originally planned. The guys came in each day and got right to work. They removed old wallpaper, put up new drywall and were able to match with near perfection the texture of the rest of the walls. The painting was fast, precise and looks amazing. I will definitely be hiring Paint Ovations again when it comes time to repaint other parts of the house.

  • Terrific! Tony and crew arrived on time, got right to work and finished the job in one day when we thought it might take a day and a half. They even did a couple of extra things that we had not discussed and they did them because they noticed that they needed doing and not because we asked them. Would definitely hire again and will definitely recommend them.

  • I was given an appointment for 4/14/18 between the hours of 12:00-12:30 pm for an estimate. At 12:51pm I called and left a voicemail message at this company stating I have an appointment with them that day, and that if no-one shows up by 1pm that I would have to leave because I have errands to take care of. After 1pm, no-one showed. This company did not have the decency to let me know ahead of time that either they're running late, or that they changed their mind because they have better jobs out there. I'm not sure I can rely on contractors at Angies List. I'm not impressed so far. This contractor seems very undependable and lacked professionalism when it comes to customer service. In the end, I found a painter elsewhere, and my garage is now painted.

  • When we purchased a new Tesla we decided our existing two-car garage was not adequate to accommodate two cars with sufficient clearance for easy access along with the storage space we wanted. Our plan was to build a new attached garage over the existing driveway, effectively lengthening the existing garage. The driveway was sufficiently long to allow a 20-foot extension to the garage while preserving 20 feet of driveway to the alley. The addition would be about three feet wider than the existing garage to allow for additional side-to-side clearance for opening car doors. The contractor we had used previously for extensive home remodeling was no longer in business, so we began a search for an alternative. After contacting multiple local contractors (all from Angie's List), only two expressed interest. We prepared detailed sketches and a statement of work to reflect our (very specific) needs. We began working with both interested contractors to get quotes and a good understanding of their relative experience levels. It was soon apparent that one, although significantly more expensive based on initial quotes, was far more knowledgeable and experienced in the many details of the job. We chose Coxco Construction to do the work, and owner John Cox supervised the work on-site on an almost-daily basis. The work specified included: (1) Removal of the existing concrete driveway, to be replaced with a reinforced concrete garage slab and a new shorter but wider driveway (2) Construction of the new garage, to include insulated walls and attic space and brick siding (3) Roofing of the addition to match existing house roofing (4) Finishing of interior walls of both existing and new garage, to include texturing, painting and installation of baseboards (5) Installation of new electrical outlets and LED light fixtures (6) Installation of a new 100A electric service panel and Tesla charging unit (7) Replacement of backyard fencing, some of which was removed to make space for the addition and the wider driveway Other elements suggested by John included: (1) Construction of a temporary wall (with lockable door) replacing the removed garage door for security during construction (2) Addition of a "porta potty" on the construction site to support the various crews at work there (3) Replacement of our current, hail-damaged roof (more below). Demolition and construction spanned almost three calendar months. This was more-or-less consistent with estimates. There was very little idle time during that period, mostly for curing of concrete, waiting for city inspectors, weather problems and other routine events. Crews were available when needed, and backup crews were available if scheduling conflicts arose. In the process of bidding the job, John noticed significant hail damage to our roof. At his request, we contacted our insurance company and scheduled an adjuster to evaluate it. John worked with the adjuster to identify all damage, including damage to plywood underlayment that was not apparent from a surface inspection. Damage to window frames, fencing and garage door was also noted. After an initial rejection of most of the claim as "cosmetic damage," John provided additional supporting data, including a second expert's assessment, and the claim was approved. Thus we were able to complete the garage addition and reroof the existing house at the same time, yielding one contiguous roof over all. All roofing work (replacement and new addition) was completed in a single day with crew of about ten to avoid potential damage from expected rain storms while the attic was exposed. The garage structure included custom-built trusses manufactured off-site to support the roof and satisfy code requirements for survival in high wind conditions. The trusses were designed by a local engineering firm to assure adequate strength while preserving the low-profile roof design of the existing house. City inspections (foundation, structural, electrical) all went smoothly, with only minor issues that were quickly addressed. All inspectors were very complimentary of the quality of the work. Fencing was done using clear cedar. This is not readily available locally, and required some work on John's part to locate the materials needed. The finished fence addition perfectly matches the structure and style of the existing fence. Matching the brick of the new addition to the existing brick was a challenge, since the existing brick was discontinued many years ago. John gave us some suggestions for brick dealers and left us to make the rounds and select what we wanted. Our choice was found at a dealer John was unfamiliar with, but a quick phone call to John was all that was needed to complete the purchase and coordinate delivery of the bricks. As work neared completion, we allowed for a bit of "creeping elegance." The temporary wall that John created for security as noted above was retained and ehanced (but moved a bit) to create two areas within the now 40-foot-long garage. Thus, we have both garage and shop/storage areas. Other added touches (both initially unplanned) were a heat pump and an epoxy coating on the floor. Work is now complete, and all meets or exceeds our high standards. We are already planning our next remodeling job, and Coxco will be at the top of our list for that work.

  • "We were guaranteed a one-coat coverage and when the painters were painting, they decided on their own, without advising me or the project manager that they were going to do a 2nd coat. That is fine, but they only did the 2nd coat with the roller and had already taken all the tape and edging off. It look absolutely horrible when they said they were done. After consulting with my project manager, Bobby, he made sure to not charge me for the 2nd coat and they did end up going back through all the edging but they did not retape, so it still looks choppy on the edging. They made quite a mess on different parts of our carpet and throughout the house. I am very disappointed in the quality of the work that was done." After following-up with me based on my Angie's List review, they did come back and fix everything to my satisfaction. I appreciate them working with me to do so.

  • It went well considering we were having the carpet removed in all rooms but the kitchen and bathrooms and replaced with wood flooring. The situation caused multiple moves of the furniture. Between the flooring workers and the painting crew the whole thing went as well as could be expected but we wouldn't do it that way again. Installation of the flooring required removal of the baseboards which required painting - decision time, paint or floor first.

  • Paul and co. did an excellent job. This was our second time working with Paul and we highly recommend him and his crew. They gave us a firm price and were very responsive. Also, they were extremely professional and friendly. I do believe that he and his son will be our contractors for a very long time. Very pleased with the results.
