    Custom Sheds By Keith
Outstanding experience working with Keith and his crew. The quality of workmanship was excellent, the project was finished ahead of time and on budget, the work site was left very clean. The end result is a beautiful shed built to last decades!

    Custom Sheds By Keith
Ifound Keith's Sheds shortly after I started shopping for sheds.  The price was higher than I wanted to pay.  So I shopped hard for a stock shed in the dimensions and style I wanted.  It didn't exist.  The other problem is that with EVERY other shed I looked at the quality just wasn't there. I would have settled for "okay" quality, but I learned the "stock" shed business is very competitive and they use low-grade building materials to stay competitive.  Even some of the display sheds I looked at were not holding up well.  In the end, I decided to bite the bullet and hire Keith's Sheds to build me exactly what I wanted.

I am accustomed to working with all types of contractors....Home builders, roofers, plumbers, landscapers, etc...I have learned to have very low expectations as far as their ability to communicate.  So I was genuinely impressed with how hard Keith worked to communicate professionally.  He called when he said he would call, he came when he said he would come, the guys showed up when he said they would, there were zero gray areas as to exactly what I was going to get and exactly how much it would cost.  I would classify my custom shed as a large garden shed.  I actually enjoyed having them around for the day.  These guys worked hard.  Having spent years in the home-building business, I know craftsmen when I see them.  These guys were like Amish craftsmen.  Every time I use my shed, I marvel at it's quality.  I have zero doubt that 25 years from now, the doors will still be hanging straight and the shed won't be leaning.

Anyone who is struggling with the decision to spend a little extra, let me give you some advice.  Whatever stock shed you are looking at multiply it's price by 3 then compare it the cost of Keith's shed.  Because Keith's shed will last longer than 3 of those other sheds.  I'm planning to retire in my home so at the end of the day, the decision to buy Keith's was easy.  So glad I did.

    Texas Horse Stalls
My father has hired a company, Texas Horse Stalls, to build a barn on his property. This has been a terrible experience and I would avoid using this company!!!!! He has given us A LOT of empty promises and excuse after excuse. Even after 9 months the job still has not been completed, only slab ( which we had to pay cash directly to the contractor) and some framing. We gave him a deposit of 20k and have hardly seen a days work. He promises to deliver material but then doesn't show up. I'm sure he does this to all his clients and uses their money and doesn't complete work.

    Brotherhood Roofing LLC
Hail storm hit 4/03/14. Called Brotherhood and the next day Sebastian was at my house assessing the damages, worked with my insurance company to get all of the work done. One stop shop. Highly recommend them.

    Chip Jones Remodeling
After 21 days into phase 2, three failed attempts to complete the stain work, multiple problems with the new shower, multiple leaks in our new kitchen ceiling, and significant damage to items in our home, I decided to terminate our contract.   We subsequently learned the shower drain/pan was improperly installed, no certified electrician nor plumber was used, and there was not any contractor insurance as previously advertised.   AND by the way, his team never addressed the punch list from phase 1.
    Total nightmare!!!!!!
After 4 months of trying to find a resolution, which would involve accepting substandard work product.  I'm now having a hard time finding a reputable contractor who is willing to finish the projects without completely redoing the work.

As a summary, I'm now need to redo the kitchen cabinet stain, repair of kitchen ceiling, repair of entry
ceiling, inspection of electrical work, complete rework and materials of shower, repair of poorly performed paint work, replacement of chipped ceramic bathtub (source of 1 or 4 kitchen ceiling leaks caused by contractor), repair and
rework of laundry room countertops/cabinets (example: counter-tops were not mounted to studs), and replacement of damaged items in home (e.g. did not prep kitchen properly before staining which left over-spray on a lot of kitchen items).
After close to $30K spent, I'm now looking at possibly 50% increase to complete the work to a reasonable completion point.

    Northern Paint
    His work is EXCELLENT!!!!
This bedroom was very large and quite difficult to paint.  It has a lot of doors windows, a fireplace, and has very ornate moldings.  His lines are straight and he takes the time to remove light plates and tape moldings.  He did a great job with a difficult room!   He is a true perfectionist.

    Nelson Home Improvements
Rob and his crew were not punctual when they did show up to work and very inconsistent on whether or not they even showed up to work at all.  I had to consistently call after waiting several hours to find out they they were not even coming on several occasions.
There was no order to which they worked on tasks.  For example, Rob and his crew put in wood flooring and half of the space before they added a skylight, did any trim, or stained any trim or woodwork.  They worked on the floor, scratching it with fallen nails, tools, and other debris that built up as they cut additional materials in the space.  Any work debris was left to build up in the space, including materials and garbage.  They left additional piles of debris and work materials in the garage, leaving it unuseable.
The work that was completed is shoddy at best.  Lighting was placed where it was convenient vs. spaced correctly.  The dry wall is uneven and the seams clearly visible.  The wall corners are rounded although where is meets the rooking is squared.  Trim was put up around one skylight, but not the other.  The floors squeak terribly.  The wood floor was only put up in half of the space and Incorrectly at that.  The door into the space is unfinished and rams into the trim on one of the skylights.   I addressed several of these concerns while the work was being completed.  But Rob assured me that it would be perfect, that he was a perfectionist, and that I would be happy when it was all done.  Well, I am NOT HAPPY!!!   I basically have a big unfinished knockout on my interior space into a unfinished mess.
Yet, this is not the worst of my experience with Rob and Nelson Home Improvements.  On 10/15/12, Rob asked for another check to continue the work.  I paid him $3000 and he never showed back up again.  He did not, and has not responded to any of my phone calls.  I have also tried to contact his contact person (Kristin, listed on the Angie's ad) to no avail.  Rob and Nelson Home Improvements took my money and ran, leaving me with a complete disaster!  The work is only halfway finished, if that.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND HIRING NELSON HOME IMPROVEMENTS FOR ANY REASON OR FOR ANY PROJECT!!!

    SNS Home Remodeling
I met with Carlos to get an estimate. He was professional and gave me a reasonable quite to replace my fence, but when it came time to sign the contract he was absent. He did send me a contract via email and the last time I talked to him he assured me that he will check on the materials. This was back in September. Ever since then, he has not respond to my email, calls or text messages.

    STRADCO BUILDERS
Eddie is a wonderful contractor. He is very good about timing and therefore we had work accomplished nearly every single day. He is thorough and good about explaining how the project is going to work. He also understands how a city works and the needed permits that will be required. This was a huge job since we needed an architect, they had to remove the section of roof above the garage, build new walls, do carpentry, add a new A/C unit, etc. Everyone loves our new room and Eddie has had two other families do extensive remodeling due to the fantastic job he did for us. This is actually the third project Eddie has done for us and we will use him again for any other projects we choose in the future. Eddie is also a great guy. He is honest and easy to talk to. Ask him about baseball!

    Manning Remodeling + Construction Inc.
It went great.  I was very pleased.  I would use them again.  The guy was very professional.  He showed up on time.  He kept the project at the price he quoted me.  He even did a little extra work on top of what he said he would do but he kept it at the same price.  He cleaned up after himself.  The shed is still standing.  He is a local person.  He is very professional and he communicates very well.  It was expensive, but the job was expensive.  It was supposed be expensive.
