Tree Service reviews in Frankston

  • I had a disappointing experience w/ Arbor Tex Tree Services.

    1) He did not follow my instructions AFTER confirming verbally, several times the first morning, he would do what I said. (Did not want him to haul off 2 of 8 trees. They hauled off 1 of the 2 trees I wanted left behind.) Then, when I called him w/in an hour after they left, at the end of the 1st day, I had to argue with him to get him to compensate me for his error. Obviously they had split the tree, for burning, on my property, on my time, since he could not just return the log.  [I had to leave for a couple of hours and did not return until they were leaving that first day.)

    2) When he was leaving my property [the 2nd day] he said he would do two more quick trimmings on his way out but he did not do them.

I find Arbor Tex Tree Services does not care to follow instructions nor are they honorable, since they do not do what they say they are going to do. I felt he would do what he said, on his way out, especially after the incident & my disappointment with the 1 small 10" tree that was hauled off, the day before.  Then, before he left my property, he gave me a plug for his additional services (stone/brick patios, retaining walls, etc). I thought he would do the additional trimming because of HIS mess-up re the 10" tree and with the hope [I would hire him for additional work] and show of good faith on his part, by doing the LITTLE bit of additional trimming on his way out.  But no, it was not done.

Also, I could tell they hauled off both the 1st & 2nd day lots of trimmings although they were suppose to leave ALL trimmings from the cedar & pine trees.  My generosity in not calling them on this. I'm not convinced they left all the cedar chips they could. I did witness the 2nd day them putting cedar trimmings in a truck and there was at least 2nd (if not a 3rd) truck with additional greenery in it [as well as the day before, when they were leaving.]  David's explanation was the chipper wasn't working, but surprisingly they left a box load of pine chips before they left the 2nd day.

Note: We had some posts, that WE were taking out from a deck, I let them use one of them to get the larger cedar logs on their truck. [They hadn't brought sufficient tools to accomplish the task.]  One of the guys mentioned to me he could use some of the posts to build a dog house.  I allowed him to take what he wanted AT not charge on my part. It took him all of 5 minutes to whack what he wanted, with a chain saw.  [My show of generosity, again, in spite of the day before's disappointment.]  I find these facts need to be shared with potential clients prior to hiring Arbor Tex Tree Services.  They need to be watched like a hawk.  What is also interesting is that they have the Tyler BBB logo all over their trucks.

Arbor Tex Tree Services could not give me definitive times he would be at the property so I could ensure to be there in time to unlock the gate. The 1st of 2 mornings I waited way over 1 hour for their arrival.  When I called re the tree they hauled off, that evening, he couldn't tell me when he'd be there, the next day, so I wasn't in a hurry to get to the property the 2nd morning, [David said he couldn't tell me when he'd get there since he had to unload the trucks]. When I called him the 2nd morning, he was already there so he did have to wait for me the 2nd morning. [He was at the property 1/2 hour before he said he would be there the 1st day.]

David did provide a sufficient crew to accomplish the job in 2 days. Thank goodness they did seem to clean-up their debris (lunch containers and many, many water bottles. I did mention to David to ensure clean-up, before they left.  I did have to rescue one water bottle that was almost covered by mulch. [Water bottles are nasty non- biodegradable matter.]  Hopefully I won't find other bottles haphazardly disposed of throughout the property.

  • I contacted David Diaz of Arbor Tex on Thursday, June 26th to get an estimate on removing a tree that fell and another one that was dangerously close to my house.  David and his brother were out at my house the next evening at 6pm to give an estimate.  They weren't cheap, but they were consistant with what others were charging.  We agreed on a price and their crew was out the very next morning and worked the whole day.  We live out on Lake Palestine and the Hickory tree had falled right on our dock.  Their crew did an amazing job of removing this large tree without causing any damage.
