  • While Life Time Fitness is always one of the more expensive gyms/clubs you will find, I have tried MANY others and can testify there is a good reason they cost a little more. To be brief - there is an abundance of weight machines, extensive Pilates equipment, stair climbing machines, treadmills, stationary bikes and other machines. There is a good variety of free weights but they could use more for the busier times of the day. More importantly, each location seems to have their own on-site staff that performs preventive maintenance and repairs so broken equipment is unusual and often only results from the staff not being aware of a particular issue. There are many mats and equipment to stretch out as well. Everything is very clean - to include not only bathroom areas but also saunas and hot tubs. Pools and particularly hot tubs/whirlpools are always an area of concern for me as that environment can quickly become out of balance and harbor viruses and/or bacteria. Life Time Fitness does a better job than any other gym I know of to maintain the water related areas as well as possible, maintaining proper pH and chlorine levels and completely draining and cleaning one or the other of the two whirlpools regularly. Locker rooms, showers and grooming areas are well maintained. The personal trainers and classes are top-notch and many group classes are free to attend with your membership. While the personal training is a little expensive, it is all relative and the results made the time I contracted with my trainers more than justified the results. I just need to be realistic and take the lessons learned and incorporate them into a permanent lifestyle. If this is a challenge, they do offer great TEAM classes to keep you motivated and in-shape.

  • We go to Lifetime Fitness.  I was there last night.  They have a really nice kids center and that is why we go.  It's a nice facility but it's pricey.  The thing that stands out is the fact that they have one.

  • We both belong to Lifetime Fitness. It it clean and there is plenty of room, you aren't cramped. They have wonderful Yoga classes. I love it. My husband works out but this gives him the flexibility. To me that's wonderful. They have all kinds of things. They even have some things for kids and their swimming things are fun. They have bicycles in the pool, they do all kinds of things. It's really a good place. They have a hair and nail salon that I also use. They have a great little coffee shop. It's one stop shopping.

  • This is the letter I sent to the management...ultimately after 5 separate e-mails, I offered to pay $200 if they left me alone and I never had to hear from them again. "I joined your facility in 12/06. Shortly thereafter, I moved from the area, and was not able to use the gym...furthermore, the facility was understaffed and I frequently had to wait for my trainer. Last year, I stopped in to cancel my membership. A young man (at the desk) informed me that the gym had changed owners, but that he would take care of it. He called the next day, asking for my credit card # which I gave him... The charges never ended. I then went through my credit card agency, American Express, to try to terminate this (now VERY expensive endeavor)...the resolution dept. at the AmEx sent a letter to me saying that despite some demands from your company, the charges would cease, although I would not be able to recoup any of my losses. Mind you, I have not entered your facility since 1/03 except to cancel my membership. AmEx wrote that you would stop charging me, but that it might take a month or so...That was 5 months ago, and I STILL WAS CHARGED ON 3/3/09. PLEASE TERMINATE MY CONTRACT WITH YOUR COMPANY EFFICTIVE IMMEDIATELY. I was told to give you my cancellation code of 4060GW. I do not want to have to take this to court, but after the 2 years of payment, I am prepared to do so. Please contact me with information about my termination."" Stacy N. Broun

  • Private Workout is great in my opinion. Have tried your traditional gyms previously with limited success. They offer a high intensity workout in private with no waiting, no one watching and where you can expect maximum results. Another aspect which makes them so appealing is that they are Certified Personal Trainers (certified by the Cooper Institute). Private Workout has several locations which makes it convenient too.

  • I pay $108 per month for two people since 2006. It is an excellent facility. The only drawback I have is that some of their physical training staff could be a little bit more social.

  • Great results. I haven't lost a lot of weight but added muscle. I get many complements asking if I have lost weight.
