APitt Crew Garage DoorsBilly returned my call very quickly and arrived at exactly the time we arranged. It was apparent he was very knowledgeable about garage door openers. Even though our opener is original to the house (1991) and the company who made it is no longer in business, Billy worked on it rather than try to sell us a new unit, which I really appreciated. He even drove to a nearby store that carries odd parts to try to find a replacement part, but the store was no longer in business. (He hadn't been in my neighborhood for quite a while.) Without the new part, the door reaches the bottom and starts to go back up, but at least it is functioning again. In order for it to stay closed we just have to hit the button when it reaches the bottom to get the door to stay down. I am just happy it is working again even if it's not perfect. Since Billy felt he did not actually fix the whole issue he did not charge me for the service call even though I attempted to pay him twice. When I get tired of messing with the door opener in its current state, I will definitely call Billy to come and replace the opener all together. I felt he was very honest and reputable.- Ann M.

He found the problem, explained it to me and showed me the broken coupler. He fixed it quickly and then tested the rest of the system (lights and safety features). CWelborn Garage Door IncWe called Wellborn because my driveway triple wide gate wheel had locked up causing the gate to not open & close properly. When tech showed up he tried to convince my wife there was nothing wrong with the wheel. After lengthy conversation he finally agreed to change both wheels. I was called and quoted a price for the work. Next day tech shows up and changes both wheels. On one of the wheels the shaft was about to break (sheer off) because the bearings were cutting into it. My wife paid the tech an amount roughly 20% more than the price I was quoted and agreed to the day before. On a follow-up phone call I was told the price quoted to fix the gate did NOT include the service fee for showing up they day before (and trying to convince us there was nothing wrong with the gate). Proper business protocol is to give a complete price at the time the work is approved. I should not have to ask "are you sure that incudes everything?". I do not think they were being dishonest, just poor communication. After the work by Wellborn the gate works perfectly. This is the 3rd time I have used this company since late Sept 2017. Every time it is a hassle to get someone on the phone, get someone to come out, get prices, etc. Going forward I will find a new gate/garage door opener repair service.- ANTHONY M.

He replaced one of the springs, even though he had to work around a huge car that was parked in a very hot garage. Another repair company had refused to fix the door because of the presemce of the car. The cost was reasonable. I initially called to see if they had a recommendation for someone who worked on gates but was pleasantly surprised when they said that they do and sent someone out right away!
