Honesty & Integrity - "F" We hired Five-Points Construction to complete a garage concrete slab and driveway. Shortly after paying the 10% deposit and 50% of the total project cost ($13,380) it was identified the bid did not include some key elements of the engineered plan, as well we decided the slab should be smaller. In short, once they had our deposit, they took every opportunity to identify ways to increase costs. They would verbally tell us they would "make it happen within the original budget", but once forced to put it in writing we were presented with a price increase. We were unable to reach agreement with Five Points Construction on the revised pricing for the smaller plan and cancelled the project. Now Five Points Construction (or individual) refuses to refund our Project Deposit. The facts are simple; ** the project never started and no costs were incurred by Five Points ** The project was cancelled ** They have not returned the deposit.....$13K ** I am now having to engage legal council, at additional expense, to assist in getting my funds back. What type of Company / individual takes your money when they provide no services? Is this someone you want to do business with??

The ground for my shop was very unlevel with a 36 inch drop across the pad site. I interviewed 3 other contractors to get competitive bids and their recommendations how to deal with the unlevel site. 2 of those contractors did not even follow up with a proposal! The third contractor's recommendation was to bring a lot of fill, but it was up to me to sure the fill did not wash away over time. TLC came out an knew exactly how to handle the situation. Tim (the owner) is very experienced and knowledgeable. He recommended some specific grading and adding some piers to make this project a success for the long term. After speaking with TIm for 10 minutes, I knew he had the right answer for my dilema. The DFW area has experienced some extreme rainfall which slowed us down a little. TIm kept in touch with me until there was a break in the weather. Once he got started, the project went fairly smooth (a little more rain hit the area). TLC was well prepared for the job. He had all the equipment (Bobcat's, excavator, etc) and crews to take on this job and bigger commercial jobs as well. Tim's crew's are very experienced, friendly, and kept the site organized. The day concrete was poured was a little cool and the concrete trucks were running very late. Tim's crew was working well into the night to be sure the job was done correctly. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the work and would highly recommend TLC.

Sublime always does good work. It takes a long time to get on their schedule, but the pond guys are great. Dan did an excellent job of helping us change our existing koi pond to a smaller pond from a huge one and helped us reorganize our existing space. The guys on his crew really worked hard because this was a very physically demanding re-do. They know their stuff on pond work and we are very satisfied with all they did. Pond work is just very expensive...and there are not a lot of folks that know what they are doing. Sublime Water Gardens does!!!

I could not be more pleased with Fast Fix Garage Door. Steve called ahead and showed up exactly when he was scheduled. I thought I was only going to be receiving an estimate, however, he was able to make the repairs at that same visit. He was incredibly courteous, demonstrated his knowledge while giving me tips to maintain the doors myself, and even serviced my other door before leaving. I would and will recommend Fast Fix Garage Door to everyone.

Steve did a great job! He quickly responded to our request for an estimate. We had one other estimate and his was more thorough and less than the rep from a larger company. His work included more parts to insure safety and stability. He was able to return to do the work within a few days. I feel very comfortable recommending him to friends.

It went great. They showed up on time and were very professional. Most companies rush in and out, however Arnie Morales took his time to answer all of my questions, even though some were not related to the repair. I would highly recommend.

I had a retaining wall built from railroad ties that was installed by the contractor that built the house. After 16 years it was starting to show its age and needed to be replaced. I wanted to go with something more durable, such as stone, and contacted several companies for quotes on what I wanted done. Unfortunately, the quotes ranged from higher than I expected to extremely high and, in many cases, I was not that impressed with the materials they would use or their approach to building the wall. I had just about given up when a friend mentioned Clients First Landscape Solutions. I gave them a call and Zach came out, reviewed what needed to be done and made the most reasonable quote I had received so far. Most important, his description of how the wall would be built and the materials used impressed me more than any of the other contractors. I decided to give them a try and am very glad I did - the workmanship is outstanding and I now have a great looking retaining wall that should last for a very long time. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to have work done around the house.

The paving project looks very good. However, due to questionable business practices, we will not use their services again. They originally gave an estimate of $4,500. After multiple attempts to contact them James finally came out and looked. He said there was no way to get his machinery into the playground area, and all work would have to be done by hand, needing several additional people, a lot of extra labor time, and at an additional cost of $1,200. So he stated that the cost of the project would be $5,700 and I agreed to that.Looking at the old pavement, he mentioned that periodic sealing would make it last much longer. That was the only mention of sealing. No mention that sealing was an extra. No mention of any extra cost. No estimate. Nothing.Saturday morning they show up between 9 and 9:30 am and begin work. I look out later and see two men riding a large asphalt paving machine, another on a large skid loader with bucket dumping asphalt in the hopper, and another riding a rolling machine. Good, I thought. He was able to use his machinery after all and I would not incur the additional $1,200 costs. They finished about noon. I happened by and he said the guys were taking a (long) break and would continue later. I went back by later and he showed me how they were applying the sealer and were already over half way completed at that point. As we were walking away he mentioned how the sealer cost $29 per gallon and not sure how many gallons he would use. Since he had never mentioned any extra cost for sealing, I assumed he was just making conversation and that was the standard last step in the project. He said they had extra asphalt left over and noticed our drive entries needed repair. He said he could use the left over asphalt to pave those. I said OK thinking this was a good deal for him to get rid of the extra asphalt and for me to get the entries paved. My fault. He did not mention he was going to hit me for an extra $2,200. I did not ask and can only blame myself. Still???When they finished, another guy (James had left) presented the invoice. Imagine my shock to see the $5,700 price still there for "doing it all by hand", nearly $2,000 for sealing, and another $2,200 for the drive entries.I asked why the $5,700 since they used machinery instead of "doing it all by hand". He said they had two extra guys working. TWO GUYS! FOR $1,200. FOR 3 HOURS. REALLY? There was a small amount of hand spreading/screeding around four poles and two corners near a door. I would expect that there would be some amount of hand work on most any project.I asked why the $2,000 for sealing. He said he had heard James telling me that it cost $29 per gallon. Yes, but James had never told me it was extra cost for me, had never asked if I wanted it, and had never given me an estimate to do it.After everyone left, I picked up drink cups and bottles left in the work area. They had taken a water hose from the playground to use in the parking lot for water. The hose was left laying in the parking lot area. They opened the back gate for access for their machines. The gate was still standing wide open where they left it.And I later found they had damaged some retaining walls around a play area that they conveniently forgot to tell us about. An e-mail to them has gone unanswered. I texted pictures to James and that has gone unanswered. The original estimate form we received an e-mail came with the heading Cates Paving Services. In a reply from them the same estimate form came with a heading of Gentry Paving Group.

This was a horrible experience that was supposed to be a good/fun experience.  I have given Joe Downs/Texas Horse Stalls over 22k and only have a slab and 8 outer posts for 10 months of work.  I have given the guy more than enough chances and have been more than fair, which is nothing but excuse after excuse.  Empty promises that others have dealt with as well.  I have communicated with him through texts for 10 months and will post the conversation at a later date.  My attorney's letter will go out tomorrow 7/27/2016 and hopefully I will get my money back and never have to deal with this guy again.  I have another contractor that built my brothers barn and he has told me that he can start in 3 weeks and finish it in 3 days.  I initially was going to use this contractor, but he was back logged by months and Joel Downs told me that he could finish it in 4 to 6 weeks depending on weather.  I understand that there has been weather delays and I will give him that, but 10 months later I have almost nothing.  I have seen the new contractors work and he does a great job and delivers what is requested unlike Joel Downs and Texas Horse Stalls.
