    Flooring Direct
I was impressed from start to finish with Flooring Direct. Bill from sales was knowledgable and friendly. Miguel and his team who did the install were very friendly and did an amazing job. They removed and installed about 1300 sq ft in 3 days. I think they only took lunch break one day. Miguel pointed out to me a very high spot in the kitchen that would have taken 1/2 inch of leveling cement throughout the rest of the house to get it to same level. That would have been very expensive so he assured me that the floor would look fine but I might notice a slight rise there. I appreciated the fact that he was honest and showed me the potential problem area. In the end, the floor looks perfect and we don't see the rise in the floor at all.

    Kitchen & Bath Renovations
Stan and his crew were easy to work with and were willing to take on additional projects around the house. They were very patient with our sometimes last minute changes. Stan even went out his way to meet us at the flooring store (after Sunday church), to help us make sense of all the crazy choices available. The end result was better quality and less expensive than a larger contracting firm had originally quoted. We were so pleased, that we asked Stan to give us a bid to re-model the kitchen.

    ATC Construction
BEST CONTRACTOR EVER!!! Peter was amazing at everything he touched during the home remodeling. Upon first encounter he was thorough and professional. His friendly demeanor and budget-friendly project estimate won me over as a 1st time home renovator. Throughout the project he was very communicative and quite helpful in handling all miscellaneous quests and small details. My home received an overhaul, including: new roof, full painting (interior/exterior), all new countertops in kitchen and 2 bathrooms, all new hardware and fixtures (knobs, handles, faucets), brand new cabinet door refacing. Peter did everything on-time and under-budget. Highly recommended as an A+ professional.

    Empire Today
Overall, Im generally satisfied despite it being a bit pricey. You get what you pay for. You get the convenience of dealing with one person should something go wrong. Or so I thought! First, its important to understand their business model. They hire subcontractors to do the installation. Which means you are inserting a middle man into the process. Which means an additional markup because nothing is free. The salesperson shows up at your home with samples. He or she quotes you a total price. They dont tell you the square footage so you can comparison shop. Ours wasnt a high-pressure sales pitch but looking back, I wish wed comparison shopped. The allure and the convenience of having the samples on-hand sucks you in. Our problems began the minute the contract was signed and the salesperson departed. Subsequently, we asked our salesperson a few questions via text message about the upcoming installations. When she did reply her answers seemed perfunctory. I wrote it off to her being a millennial. But on two occasions she didnt bother to answer: first, when the tile installer showed up short of tile and was unable to tile a closet (it was subsequently carpeted); second, when we tried to get extra laminate and tiles (as promised) in case of future damage. We later found out from Customer Service that Empire Today doesnt do that. Ask yourself, for the amount of money paid (in our case approx. $17K) you should get a few extra pieces, right? Wrong! Lastly, I had one installer tell me they werent paid to move furniture when my contract stipulates. They did move the furniture, however. I would like give a shout out to the installers. They were top notch and I would highly recommend them. Bottom line, should you choose Empire Today then expect to pay a little more and be treated like a number. After all, they are a high-volume business. I post this in the hope Empire Today improves its service. Good luck!

    L&D Painting and Remodeling
It went well, it took longer than I expected (2 1/2 weeks) but I am very happy with how it all turned out. We were painting old cabinets and after the 1st coat of paint you could see dents in the wood. When I pointed that out they filled in the dents and repainted. They try very hard to make the customer happy.

    Rapid Remodeling Inc
They moved the refrigerator from the kitchen and moved it back when they were finished.  Removed all the damaged subflooring and replaced it with stronger material.  Installed new oak laminate flooring in the kitchen/dining rooms and in the hallway.  Replaced the baseboards and caulked everything.  They even finished in two days instead of three as originally estimated.  My sister now has a beautiful and level, I might add, floor in her kitchen/dining room.  She said it was so nice to have one contractor that could repair both the subflooring and install the new flooring.  It made it so much easier for her.

    Wayne Scott
I will hire Wayne for all future repair or remodel needs. The result is excellent, everything was done in a timely manner, and he is priced fairly. He came very close to his original quote on bath 2 and came in under the quote a smidge on bath 1 (he was good at predicting cost). He communicated with me every day of the project and was on-site every day or almost every day that someone was there (he didn't stay the whole time, but came by and looked things over). He is very professional and friendly. At several points in the project, he did extra little things, too, like trim something out better than I knew to ask, added shelves to the bath wall (he offered to remove them if I didn't like them, but they're great!), and just did a wonderful job. None of his crew left a mess at all and they kept their materials neatly stacked and out of our walking spaces overnights. He went above what I expected in helping me resolve a couple of issues with The Home Depot. Both bathrooms look and function great, no more leaks anywhere, and I just couldn't be any happier. (Also, it was nice that he was so kind in dealing with my mother, who lives with me and was home during every stage of the work. He never failed to have a conversation with her. He is respectful toward his crew, too. There is nothing arrogant about this man. He's just a good guy with a heart of gold, but he also knows what he's doing and is in the right business.)

Empire General Contracting of Texas, LLC
Carlos and his team were very professional, friendly, hardworking, and punctual. They did an excellent job and my house felt like a new house once they were done. The work was very precise and done correctly with no shortcuts. When they were done it was left very clean and presentable. Carlos is honest about what to expect with a job and will give options and explain any pros or cons to any questions before the work is done.

    Five Star Flooring
Ken examined the damaged areas of flooring in the living room and kitchen and also looked at the flooring throughout the rest of our home. We discussed options for repair and restoration and Ken measured all rooms involved and sketched a rough floor plan. Ken indicated that he would prepare a bid for the work and email it to me by the end of the week. When I had not heard form Ken, I sent him an email on 1/25/16 asking for an update on the promised price quote. When I still had not received a quote or any communication I sent a message to then company via the Angie's List system on 2/2/16 asking what the status of the promised quote was. They responded today finally via Angie's List mail and indicated that they felt our job would be extensive and that they were currently busy with another major job and would not be able to provide the work desired.

As an independent businessman myself, I certainly believe it is their right to choose not to take on the job we need done. My complaint is that they knew the size and scope of the job before they left my home on the 19th of January. They were given the secondary option to decline the job on 1/25 when I contacted them for an update on the status of the bid. It took them 2 weeks to decide to decline service and only notified me because I pestered them for an answer. I guess I should be grateful that I learned of their poor ability to communicate with clients with out having to experience it during an actual restoration project. I can not in any way judge their quality of work....it may be superior and very cost effective. My scores in the review are based on their total lack of punctuality, poor responsiveness to communications and their total lack of professionalism in working with us.

    Fred Webb's Remodeling
We hired Fred Webb for what we considered to be a very substantial remodel to our home.  The job started on 5/27 and was projected to last 30 days, although there were a few very understandable delays, and we did add a few tasks to the list as things progressed.  There were some things we were very happy with, and others that were not delivered with the quality workmanship that was promised, and ultimately we took over and finished the job ourselves.  As time has passed we've noticed more and more "shortcuts" that were taken that don't match the quality that was promised, and we are also making those "fixes" out of pocket. Bottom line, Fred is a very nice man but I would not hire him again or recommend him to anyone else for a job of this magnitude.
