    Sears Appliance Repair
Repairman was courteous but seemed as if he wasn't too sure of what he was doing. He quoted me a price of $453 + tax for the part and labor would added to that. This is what annoyed me. THE PRICE FOR THE PART WILL BE ONE HALF THE QUOTED PRICE IF YOU PURCHASE THE APPLIANCE WARRANTY. I am sure this is a legal gimmick but it is wrong on every count. It is extortion. I said, no thank you, I will call someone else. The first name on the list of repairmen in the yellow pages came out and did it. He ordered the part which two days to get here and then he fixed it. It took him an hour and a half. Here is the price I paid. $189 for control board. $119 for labor, including tax $333.11. This repairman was confident and acted as if he was sure of what he was doing. He did not use a lap top and follow codes, he just knew what to check. He of course tested everything, although I told him what the previous repairman had said was wrong. Please note that I have no problem with the Sears repairman, although I did think he was not very knowledgeable. My complaint was with the extortionate prices and the warranty scam. I have to pay the sears repairman's service charge; but even adding that to the price paid the independent repairman, I think I still came out ahead by a couple of hundred dollars.

Tom is extremely knowledgeable, skilled and experienced and was highly recommended by another repair company unable to perform the work. I regret we didn't know about him years ago. He's no nonsense, sincere, diligent and can't be beat as far as repairing it correctly the first time. We've had him out only once thus far, but I'd have absolutely no qualms about leaving him unattended in my home in the future. It was a tedious job to repair the problem, but we thought his charge was much more than reasonable and he completely resolved the malfunction with the freezer. We feel fortunate to have stumbled upon him.

Glenn Townsend - Glenn's Appliance Repair
The washing machine stopped advancing to the next part of its cycle this morning (a Saturday). I called Glen based on his Angie's List ratings. He was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and showed up with the correct part just over an hour after I called. Glen made the repair in about 30 minutes. He clearly knows his business and I will happily call him if I need any future repairs.

They gave me a 5 hour window for them to come. I stayed home and they said they would call 30 minutes ahead. I sat here all day waiting for them. At 5 they called and said they would be here in 5 minutes. They were already past the time window. It took him less then 15 minutes to complete the job. They have a labor charge of 125 and an upfront charge of 75 for them to come. They did not send me a email receipt for the work that was done. After several phone calls to them I finally got the email over a week later.

Joe was Running Behind because of Truck Problems and was a week late. When he did arrive he figured the problem in short fashion. He had the part needed on his truck and was about 1/2 hour finishing. Overall Good except Tardiness. Would use again.

    David's Appliance Service
My wife contacted them 3 weeks ago inquiring about a replacing the broken glass in our Oven door.
She was told to call back with the Oven Model Number in order to place an order for the glass.
My wife called back the next day with the Model Number, but have to leave a voice mail.
Since we did not hear from them, my wife call two more times, and left voice mail each time.
10 day later (Monday Sep 15) I called and asked why no calls were return, after getting my information (name, address, etc) the lady on the phone said I am the only one setting appointments and never need the Model Number to do so, then she proceeded to ask me for the the Model Number. Her request really frustrated me and I said, you already have the model number.
At this point she said and quot;sounds like we are not going to get along, you need to call somebody elseand quot;.
They have provided good service on multiple occasions without issues.

Glenn Townsend - Glenn's Appliance Repair
Mr. Townsend nearly figured out what was wrong over the phone. After I answered the questions about model name and number, he had me check the filter, outlet, and cord. Since it wouldn't come on at all, he thought the electrical board must be gone and checked on the availability of the part. Expensive, right?
An hour later, he called and said he'd come by shortly since I was home and see if he could at least get the door to open so my sheets wouldn't mildew.  To make a long story short, he diagnosed my problem as an extension cord that was not heavy-gauge. Got the washer running and told me I needed a 14 guage extension cord from the hardware store so it wouldn't happen again. He spent over an hour and only charged me $50 labor. Quite a deal, I thought.
Be prepared to answer his questions loudly and clearly, over the telephone at least. He's one of the old-time professionals who don't want you to spend more than you have to. I'd call him again anytime!

Both of my refrigerators are back doing what they were doing. One of the parts wasn't covered so I had to pay for it. They had to come back out and now it is doing it again. The freezer is leaking from the bottom into the refrigerator. I have a bowl setting in there and it is turning into ice. The service call was $45 and then I had to pay for a part. I really liked the guy that came out. He was really good. His wife works for him and does all his scheduling. She is really nice. He seemed to be real thorough and I didn't have any problems with him at all. What he did that was covered by Angie's List was good but what was not covered is what is causing me problems. My issue was not resolved but it was not his fault. They were having a new phone system installed at the time I was contacting them.
