    SOUTH DENTON ANIMAL HOSPITAL
I write this review as a warning to anyone considering this vet clinic.  I grew up in Denton and lived in Argyle for many years. I went to South Denton Animal Hospital starting twenty years ago when it had a previous owner.  We had a dog who had an ear problem and we made out first appointment with Cody in October 2018. In total we have made eight trips to his office since last October. He pretty much never did blood work and he never spent more than ten minutes with our dog. We wasted countless hours and hundreds of dollars on these trips. The issue is our dog had an inner ear infection. We got a second opinion after the last trip. He has been assuming falsely that our dog has allergies. He has not once taken blood samples to determine the problem.  He prescribed a very powerful steroid call Prednisolone on January 8th 2019. Once again no blood work, just speculation and more money spent and more time wasted.  One last trip was made on January 12th and yet another five minute meeting where he kept saying he can't fix it as it's allergies.  We got a second opinion as our dog was blind and unable to walk for a week. The new Dr spent 90 minutes with us and did blood work as well as prescribe antibiotics.   Cody in my opinion is all about volume and he doesn't do good work.  I feel like going after him for this massive waste of time and money.   I remember this place when Ned Neighbors was there.  Cody is less than half the Veterinarian that Ned was and you should avoid his practice.

    Peace Love and Paws
I have been using Peace, Love, and Paws for several years now. Most of my trips away from home consist of 3-4 days, and once a year I go away for two weeks. Peace, Love, and Paws assured me, from their first visit with my kitties, that they would be in good hands. Denise, the owner, arranged for an initial interview prior to her first visit to meet my kitties and get a layout of the home, their food dishes, litter boxes, etc. I especially appreciate the text message she sends me with each visit to let me know that all is good with my kitties and my house. She is extremely reliable, and I appreciate her flexibility when last minute changes to the visits schedule come up.

I have a 5 lb yorkie and she has been going to Kyla for 2 years. Kyla is sweet and does a great job. I drop off and pick up within a 3 hour window. You can watch through the glass windows if you are concerned about having your dog groomed. I have never had a problem at this location in Denton, Texas.

    Corinth Animal Hospital
Corinth Animal Hospital failed to check a spot where my dog had previously had cancer in October 2017, although I asked them to. The doctor hides behind the techs and spends as little time in the presence of the owners as possible. The techs do not have the experience and training to convey messages about complex matters. When I expressed frustration to the doctor that they had not checked and x-rayed that spot in October the doctor lied and stated that tumors can't be seen on x-ray. When Corinth Animal Hospital did surgery to remove the lump in 2018, the doctor failed to remove all the cancer and reported falsely that the cancer had grown into the bone. The doctor stated that radiation would start at $7k. Also a lie. They did not help us out to the car and my 100 pound dog who had just had surgery fell trying to get up the ramp. When I got home I discovered that they left a port with a needle in my dog's front leg after the surgery out of carelessness. My dog had a lump in the area of the surgery almost immediately that grew very rapidly. I took my dog back to Corinth Animal Hospital repeatedly about that lump. I have a recording two weeks after the surgery, of them telling me it was just a seroma (sp?), just swelling and spongy tissue. The doctor was not sufficiently competent to aspirate it. About three weeks after surgery, I took my dog for a second opinion with a competent vet that aspirated the lump and diagnosed it as cancer. I took my dog back to Corinth Animal Hospital and told them the diagnosis. They had no plan. I then took my dog to a surgeon who removed all the cancer (which my then was the size of two baseballs) and who showed me the tumor on an x-ray and showed me that the tumor was not in the bone, and stated that that type of tumor does not grow into the bone. I ended up taking my dog to VSNT with twice the scar size (radiation field) that would have been required if my dog had been given proper veterinary care initially at Corinth Animal Hospital. At that stage, radiation would have only cost $2600 (for a four series radiation protocol), not the $7000 the Corinth Animal Hospital doctor lied to me about. It will now cost $6,600 for a twenty series radiation protocol now needed because the tumor got so large during their 4-6 weeks of Corinth Animal Hospital's negligence. They had me giving the dog acupuncture waiting for my dog to die of "bone cancer." All the while they kept saying "trust me" all this is normal. If you can afford better, do better. These people have NO business purporting to treat animals with serious illness let alone cancer. Take your animal somewhere else because it could mean the difference in life and death for your pet. If you love your animal run!!!!

    SOUTHRIDGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL
Id have to agree with a few others on here that Southridge Animal Hospital has become less about personal attention to your pets and more about lining up as many pets as possible (obviously to bring in more $). Wait times for my dogs even when having an appointment have taken as long as 20 minutes after my appointment time (ie getting in 20 minutes after my appointment time to see the vet when I arrive on time or even earlier). In addition, on my previous visit during doggie dental month (which is supposedly discounted 10%) I was initially quoted with a price tag in excess of $500. The staff told me that they plan for the worse case scenario. As declined a number of the services, the price came down to ~$300. As I kept on inquiring and trying to understand what the expenses were for as well as why they were so high, staff/vet appeared to be agitated. I even received a letter from Mr. Jones that quoted usually I terminate clients that question our costs and prices as you did. Which seems kind of odd to me because as customers, you should do your research and question and understand the costs (otherwise, how else do you know the price isnt too high/low). Given that Mr Jones has terminated many clients as he indicated, it seems he doesnt like clients that are financially savvy or that like to save money. Also, Id mention that although I was charged for 14 teeth extractions, only 11 were given back to me with no mention of the other 3, which I never brought up because the staff seemed very agitated with my questions on pricing (where the teeth lost?, were they even extracted?, give me an explanation!) My experience going to South Ridge Animal Hospital hasnt been pleasant and I personally cant recommend South Ridge Animal Hospital, as I get the impression they care more about the cash flow coming in than my dogs.

    SOUTHRIDGE ANIMAL HOSPITAL
They care very much about each individual animal. They really work to try to save the animal. The pet knows the doctor is trying to help and it's always responsive. There are things the dog will not let me do but it's no problem when the doctor does it.

They were very kind. I called around and they had a very fair price, and they had availability that day. If I need that service I would use them again. I have two dogs still and when they need to go to the veterinarian that's where we'll go. Compassionate people.

    PetSmart
I use PetSmart for grooming and I love them. I have two dogs. They're little and I actually just take one who needs to be groomed. She's 6 pounds; she's a little girl. I have it done about every six weeks. The cost was $40. I don't know if the price changes according to your dog's size, but it's a full service groom that includes many things. All my dogs are little. They have a fair price for my sized dog. I would give them an A across the board. Kyla is the girl that I use every time and she's really good with small breeds. She was recommended to me for my little girl and she's just been great with her. I don't think grooming is my dog's favorite thing in the world, but she does okay. I've been going to them for almost 18 months and I've been very happy. I only take one of my dogs; the other one doesn't need to be groomed. The other one just gets a bath at home, but the dog that goes, her hair grows and grows and grows and if I don't take her, she's a shaggy mess. She's a little high maintenance thing. I hope she likes it; she doesn't have a choice.

    AMERICAN PET SPA & RESORT
I used to take my dog to Petsmart, they are ok. A friend recommended this place, and from the first time we came here we fell in love. The people who work there are passionate, and love on the animals. My dog was taken out for walks, play time & pool time! She absolutely LOVES it! And every time she comes home from her stay, she's tired from all the fun she's had. The owner cares so much for all the animals and their owners. He always follows up, and wants to be sure that both your animal and you are been taken care of. Your dog/animal gets a 5-star hotel for the price of a 3-star! Just Awesome! ...Same goes for the grooming! Excellent Service! And bang for the buck! I feel very at ease leaving my dog here for a week, when I"m away for either business or other travel. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this beautiful Pet Spa & Resort.
