For vehicle repairs the last time we used Pep Boys. We had a problem with the air conditioner, we had a problem with the starter, we had a problem with the radiator and something else. Anyway, we had four things go wrong, but it (the car) is a 2002 so they repaired all that.
It was pretty expensive, but he took care of everything. I paid it off this month. They were alright, but it was very expensive. I found out the mechanics get a commission on any parts they recommend. They kept recommending more and more parts. I didn't realize that in the beginning. They did a good job. It must have been over the Memorial holiday because they said they would have a part on Saturday, but of course it ended up they didn't get the part until Tuesday late. My son handled all this, but it was kind of a slow job. I guess they were alright on professionalism. He was just a little put out because it took so long. He (my son) was on a storm alert -- he works with companies that go out, like when we have storms and stuff like that and they had called him about one he had to go to at Austin so he paid extra so they would hurry up and get it done then they ended up not having the part which he paid extra for something that he still had to wait for to get it done but he was able to drive the car anyway. He was pretty aggravated by that situation. The problem is sometimes you need cars repaired over the weekend and they were the only ones we were aware of that were open on the weekend. Before I would use them again we would do more checking around.
