Transmission Service reviews in Cypress

  • For the second time in as many weeks, Circle D replaced a transmission for me.  Last week they did a phenomenal job on my stepson's truck and this week it was my truck.  The problem showed up on a Friday evening, I received messaged on the dash panel that my transmission was overheating and it was definitely slipping.  Monday morning I took it in to Circle D and Glen called me later that day to tell me that they could not find any error codes showing but they did find fine particulate matter in the pan and filter.  With 168,000 miles on my transmission and the slipping I experienced, I decided to replace it now and save myself headaches later.
They ordered the transmission on Tuesday and had it all in and ready to go on Wednesday.  I picked it up on Thursday and the transmission ran great.  However, I noticed the oil pressure gauge was pegged at 80, even at idle.  I took it back to Glen and they checked it out.  The oil sender is on the top of the engine and was not touched in the replacement of the transmission.  I figure it was just a coincidence that it went out at this time. Glen offered to replace the oil sender unit on Friday and I brought the vehicle back to them on Friday.  The new oil sender was installed at their cost and Glen did not charge any labor for the replacement even though I asked him to.  Circle D was only interested in my happiness in both instances of transmission repairs they have performed for me in the last couple of weeks.
It is hard to find good honest people out there willing to bend over backward for customer support.  This shop and the employees are top notch.  I highly recommend them to anyone that needs transmission work performed.

  • Circle D Transmission was recommended to me by my trusted mechanic. I must say that this shop really does practice customer service. I called and spoke with Glen and told him I may get stuck in traffic and may be past closing.  He told me to call and let him know and he would wait for us.  Upon arrival, Glen told us what the cost would be up front and answered all our questions. he asked us for details of the issue and was able to tell us what he thought the problem would be.  He took the time to give us a tour of their shop and explain transmissions to us. Glen took the time to consider our situation and since this was my stepsons' truck and he may go away to college, a remanufactured transmission with a GM dealer warranty was a better deal for us in this case.  This shop really made us feel like they wanted to earn our business. The repairs were completed when they promised. I found it refreshing to have an itemized bill. This shop has earned my business and I will be returning to have my other vehicles checked out.

  • I paid Circle D to give a diagnosis on what they thought what was wrong with my transmission. Long story short they told me I had burnt clutches and the transmission would have to be replaced. Nothing could be further from the truth. I took my truck to another transmission shop and they checked out my transmission and the computer PCM VSS and VSS Buffer. The problem was the VSS. The part cost me 30.00 from autozone. The other transmission place was much more thorough and correctly diagnosed the problem and was not focused on trying to sell me services I didn't need. THEY WANTED ME TO BUY A 3200.00 transmission. I will NOT go back or recommend Circle D to anyone.

  • Burden is an exceptional Honda service shop, which I found via Angie's List. My engine service light was one and I got varying interpretations from other repair shops, ranging from "don't worry about it, that thing is always coming on" to "you better get rid of that car." I had done enough research online to suspect it was the transmission in this 2002Odyssey with 78K miles. I knew it would cost major bucks, but the car is in great shape so worth the investment. Lisa and the head mechanic were exceptionally professional, gave me a thorough diagnosis, explained the choice between OEM and after-market options (I chose OEM only on the catalytic converter, at their recommendation), and were totally up-front about the cost. The work was done in a timely manner, and their 3 yr-36mo warranty on the tranny is as good as the Honda shop. I'll continue taking my Odyssey to them as long as I have it and/or I live in Cypress.
