  • !!!!Watch Out!!!! Bait and Switch. They quoted me a price for the surgery. Went to the initial exam, found out the price they gave me did not include eye exam, hospital charges nor anesthesia charges. Original $7,200 quote turned into $12,200! Told them I would go elsewhere and walked out. BEWARE!!

  • Dr. strong is excellent. Office very efficient. She offers all the latest technology including the pictures of your eye rather than having your eyes dilated. We have gone to her for several years since moving to this area and having her recommended. We are so pleased with her, excellent care for me and my husband.

  • I continue to see Dr Strong because she does take excellent care of me. My previous ophthalmologist never checked my eyes with scans or other specialized equipment. She has cared for me by providing routine eye exams and glasses, by diagnosing my need for cataract surgery, by doing all my post cataract care, by providing testing and care related to complications of that surgery,
    determining my need to see a specialist in vitreous and retinal problems. Dr. Strong also spent extra time studying side effects of medications when I was prescribed a medication that caused visual hallucinations. We have been through many situations together. My routine check up reminded me of all she has done and the great care she gives her patients.
    The practice is well organized and efficiently run. Appointments are made with short wait times and in emergencies she will see you immediately and is on call at night. Wait times are minimal.If she is not available her colleague Dr. Knight takes her patients. The staff are friendly, patient, and very helpful. Some staff members help with various testing and are also helpful and knowledgeable. There are certified opticians to assist you in selections of glasses, repairs, adjustments etc. You can visit with the opticians without appointments and have adjustments done without a long wait. I have never had billing problems with this practice. They assist the patient with insurance claims. I recommend this practice without reservation. Several of my relatives now use this practice.

  • The glasses did not work for me, as I could not read documents even signs that were close. The glasses cost me $1,400, $600 the frames and $600 the lenses, each bifocal lens was $300. After a week I returned the glasses and they say they will not return my money and I had to buy a pair of glasses. So the cheapest frame I could buy was $200 and the regular lenses for distance only were still $600. So they only returned to me $600. And it cost me $800 for a useless pair of glasses. Went online and look at the same frames in the manufacturer website and eye trends store had a markup of 200 percent, not mistake I mean the $600 frame sold to me in the manufacturer website were sold for $200. The lenses as we'll were excessively marked up. I went to another optic store and got real progressive lenses, anti scratch, etc. great quality lenses for only $300.

  • I will be turning 65 shortly, and with that I go on Medicare.  My current medical plan (before Medicare) includes VSP, which allows for medically necessary contact lenses, which I have because I have keratoconus.  I have been unable to find any medical plan for retired people which allows for these lenses, UNTIL I discovered a plan that (I thought) did.  I was referred to Dr. Panzer.  When I phoned his Office, I got a friendly receptionist who promptly had me talk to Dr. Panzer himself.  How rare is that!  Dr. Panzer talked to me in depth about scleral lenses and insurance, and I discovered that, no, the new insurance I'd found, is not covered by his Practice.  So while I was unable to succeed in making this new potential insurance work with his Office, I did have a great discussion with a knowledgeable and friendly Doctor.  Because I have not solved my insurance problem, I will probably keep my current eye doctor (I like him also), but I'll keep trying to succeed in this.

  • I had my annual eye exam at Lakewood Vision. I have used them for 5 years (since moving to Houston) and as always the service was good, the reception/waiting area was nice. I did not have a long wait for my exam to begin. The eye exam was conducted professionally by the friendly staff. I went back a few days later (with my wife) to pick out the frames for my new glasses. My insurance covered the majority of the cost ($10 exam, $10 frame and $10 lenses) so my entire visit only cost $32.13.

  • I arrived at my appointment 10 minutes early. I was not seen until 40 minutes following my appointment time. The front desk staff (at the beginning of my appointment) was very helpful and friendly, continued to apologize for delay. While I was waiting to be seen by the doctor, I began to look around their small showroom of frames. I have a wide head and need a wide frame to accommodate it. There had two pair that I was interested in. I was told that their frames salesman was at lunch and would be returning, so I took the frames with me when I went in to see the doctor. The doctor was great. She was so nice, explained everything and even suggested a new contact brand based on my irritation level with contacts. Too bad she partners with such a horrible business. Anyway, after seeing the doctor, I returned to the front desk, where I was told that the salesman was still at lunch. I asked the gentlemen behind the counter to hold the frames for me, as I did not have any more time and would be returning later. He said he would keep them behind the counter and I told him I would be back the following day. The following day, upon returning to Eye Trends to discuss purchasing, the woman behind the counter was unable to find either pair of the frames that I had asked to be held for me. There were not back in the Oakley display case, the lab, behind the desk, etc. I asked her to pull up the notes on my account and see if he had by chance noted them on their. She informed me that he was off that day and I would need to come see him the following day. I couldn't believe the run around at this point. I originally waited 40 minutes past my appointment time to see the dr. then couldn't order my glasses because the salesman was at lunch and then the woman who was their the following day refused to assist me. HMMM are these folks paid on commission? I think so. I left the establishment and went to competitor. When the woman who was assisting me at the competitor went to authorize my insurance for my glasses, my insurance declines saying that there was a pending authorization from Eye Trends. THe insurance representative had to call Eye Trends to verify that I had not purchased anything from them. Finally the situation was resolved and I was able to order my glasses from the competitor. What kind of company authorizes a sale on someone's insurance without having any idea what that person is going to purchase? I mean they didn't even know what frames or lens options I would be using, but they go and authorize my maximum benefit. I will never use Eye Trends nor will I ever recommend them.

  • Dr. Strong has provided me with eye care over a period of time. I find the care to be consistent from visit to visit. I am never rushed and there is adequate time for all my qestions. I like the office organization with short wait times. An assistant performs some of the testing first so that Dr. Strong has all your previoous and current tests on her computer for you to see - such as the photos of your retinas. She discusses any changes in your eyes and recommends what you can do to improve your eye health. They have some evening appts and are open on Saturdays. If you need a change in your glasses there is an excellent certified optician to assist you. I find prices here lower than at the big national chains, although it may take a little longer to get the glasses depending on the options you choose. You can drop by at anytime to have the optician do necessary adjustments. I highly recommend this practice and several of my family members in Houston have changed to this practice also.

  • I saw both Dr. Pham and Dr. Jenkins. My first appointment was good. I liked the eye mapping and that my eyes didn't have to be dialated, even if it cost a little extra. Dr. Pham was a little fast during the lens flipping, but she was very kind when I asked her to slow down some, and even offered to start over from the beginning. Both doctors are very kind, thorough, and willing to talk to you until you understand.
    I received a trial pair of lenses and came back after a week to see Dr. Jenkins. There was some inconvenience because I didn't like the brand of trial lenses and wanted the brand of my old contacts, but I hadn't brought my old prescription with me to the second appointment. The office staff and Dr. Jenkins both worked hard until all my issues were taken care of, and I had a good prescription for what I wanted. The office staff is just as wonderful as the doctors and the waiting room is well decorated and comfortable. I'll come back here for my next exam.
