  • We went to A & E for a transmission leak, he fixed it WAY below what other estimates were for this type of work and spent time explaining everything to me so I would understand. Then we had another leak development and thought perhaps it was the transmission again. He had us come right over and put the car up on the rack to view the problem with my husband and I present. It turned out to be a different problem and they fixed that as well. Prompt and polite.

  • Was told by a mechanic that I should take my son's car to a transmission shop.  The owner/manager was very knowledgeable and worked up an estimate on his computer.  They took the car in that afternoon and had it fixed very quickly.  The only "odd" thing was I had to pay for the parts in advance.  Their quality of work was excellent.

  • They were a horrible experience. The 3 day job turned into a 3 week job and it costed me thousands of dollars. They're still trying to make me a satisfied customer by only refunding me $150. I would tell them do what you say you're going to do when you say you're going to do it.

  • The quality of work seems good at this time,and will have a scheduled check on the transmission in two weeks to make sure there are no leaks,etc.The work took a few days longer than expected,but that is to be expected.

  • The staff was friendlly, and the work was done quickly.  On previous occasions, when were were having major work done we generally scheduled our visit, but this time was a drop-in, and the work was done in about 15 minutes.

  • Rather than a transmission flush, which does nothing unless the tranny pan is dropped, they pulled the pan and changed the fluid and filter.
    They did not try to sell me anything else, e.g., they did not show me the residue in the tranny pan and tell me my transmission dead.
    The service was prompt, the people friendly, and I've experienced no problems with the transmission.

  • When I first walked in to the store I was immediately greeted by the Shop Manager, Kirk, and the Sales Rep, Annette, who were both hospitable and courteous.  They quickly told me about their military discounts, free inspection, and quick turnaround time on any repair.  While I decided not to get my truck fixed because my wife and I are closing on a house, I will go back to them to repair my transmission in the near future.  I would recommend Cottman Transmissions to anybody in the Corpus area.

  • At first me experience with Dubs Garage went very good. My vehicle was ready when promised. After I picked up my vehicle
    I started to notice a shake or wobble when I let out the clutch from a dead stop, as time went on it got worse. I took my vehicle back in for them to take a look at it and right off I noticed that the Service Rep (Clark) was not to happy with the fact that I came back in with potential problems with the work that they had performed. Right off the bat he slammed my vehicle into reverse to back out for the test drive. When he took off in 1st gear I pointed out the shake in the drive train when the clutch was let out. He then told me, "What did I expect from a vehicle (Mine) that has 135,000 miles on it", there's nothing wrong, he started getting upset with my concerns. The more we talked about it the more irritated he got.
    From this point I new this was going no where so I was happy to get back to the shop. I decided at this point I wouldn't leave my vehicle for them to check out, I'll go somewhere else. This guy acted like a real JERK!
    My conclusion is as long as you walk into that shop as new business you will be treated good, but have a concern with anything they do, then they have no time for you!
    I found out a couple of days later that the shake I was getting when letting out the clutch was that my vehicle had a broken transmission mount. So there was a problem. I fixed it and my vehicle drives perfect. The clutch job that Dubs did for me was OK, the mechanic did a good job. The facts are that there was a problem with my vehicle, not with the work that Dubs did for me, but there was a problem. If Clark would have acted civil, his offer to check it out would have been granted, but after he acted like a JERK,  I wasn't about to leave my vehicle there again, they would have found that it was in fact my Transmission Mount that was the issue, and not the work that they performed, I would have let them put on the new Transmission Mount.
    If you can't talk to a Business about the work they performed for you without them getting upset, that's the day that I will never return to them!
    My only problem with Dubs was the Service Adviser, other than that they did a good job.
