Pain Management Treatment reviews in Corpus Christi

  • I have been seeing Dr. T now for around 8 months and have had four procedures preformed by him.  He is a great pain doctor and one I trust.  His staff is very friendly and stay on top of your insurance for you.  The office and procedure rooms are great and you feel very comfortable there for an office visit or a procedure.

  • It seems people looking for pain management in CC either have a good experience or a terrible one. I saw Dr. "T" twice. The first time he gave me nerve block injections which did very little, the second time was lumbar steroid injections. I don't remember talking with the Dr. about either of these procedures, but bare in mind I was in severe pain and looking for relief. Both were done under local anesthesia. After the lumbar injections I couldn't feel my leg for about 8 hrs, my foot for 12 - which was fine with me. What bothered me was this: I was told after the lumber inj's it would take 2-3 days to a week for any relief. They called after 10 days or so and asked how I was feeling. I told them I was still in severe pain and they said sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks for relief. They called again a week later - still severe pain. They said sometimes it can take a month. Enough already! They kept moving the goalposts. I wanted to speak to the Dr... sure - make an appointment. That was it for me. I took my pain to a neurosurgeon in San Antonio. Best decision ever. I ended up having a microdiscectomy for a ruptured disc. (disc protrudes and presses on the spinal nerve). I saw the same MRI the others did, and it was clear as could be what needed to happen, and it wasn't a lifetime of injections. This is just my opinion, but it seemed to me like these pain Drs want to keep you coming back. $$$

  • Dr. Potter and his surgical staff do great work. This review is not a reflection of them, but of the administrative and billing staff. We were not pleased to hear just prior to my wife's procedure that there was an outstanding balance on her account from last year. They claim that they send out bills every other month, but nothing was ever received from them. Payment in the office is inefficient as well. Some payments are accepted at the window in the main office. But, other payments are taken in the office next door. Received no explanation from the personnel in the billing office other than blank stares.

  • My primary Dr. sent a referral with all the paperwork/records to the office on about this date, possibly a little before. I never received a phone call from their office. I called them to speak to the person that handles referrals and she had no record of receiving anything. I checked with my Dr. and they had a fax receipt - strike #1. I asked them to re-fax and they did. No call... After about a week I called again for an appointment and the girl said Dr. Lopez didn't have a chance to review my file yet. More waiting, more pain, and after 3-4 more days no call. I called again a few days later and he still hadn't reviewed my file, but she did say his partner Dr. Liu said there was nothing he could do. I found this pretty strange as #1: I didn't know who Dr. Liu was, and #2: THIS IS WHAT THEY DO! I had no idea that Dr.'s could keep you waiting for an appointment and then decide they don't want to see you. I told the girl I needed a decision by that Friday or I would have to make other arrangements. She said OK and that was the last time I heard from that office.

I have no idea if Lopez ever saw my records. I have a feeling that if you rub the staff the wrong way your file could end up on the bottom of the pile. This is just my opinion and has no basis in fact.

  • Dr. Potter knows his medications and the most up to date treatments that may be helpful. He has worked with me for over two years. He has helped me to prolong the surgery that I know I will have to have in time. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a pain management provider. He cares about his patients and he understands when the pain doesn't go away and keeps trying to help his patients rather than dismissing them like it's their fault that they didn't get relief from the treatment. His staff is very friendly and caring with his established patients. I've never had to wait more than a few days when I call for an appt.

  • I do not like the wait time, sometimes up to three hours for an appointment. Plus it is hard to get into see either one, Pop Moody or her PA. Three to four month wait to get in after already being a patient.

  • It is just a well-run practice.  It is mainly for injections for my back; pain management, steroid injections and that kind of thing.  They are timely.  They get me in quickly and I don’t spend a lot of time in the waiting room.  When I needed to get on the table because of pain and get that injection, they accommodated me very quickly.  Dr. Tschickardt is the only doctor there.

  • His staff that greets me isn't that professional; but as far as, the people that works directly for him are wonderful.  He pays attention and he actually listens.  He does a thorough examination.  He has done things that another guy didn't even check for.  He explains to me exactly what he is checking me for.  He takes everything that I tell him into consideration.  One side worked and one side didn't for the treatment he gave me.

  • Dr. T has the bedside manner of a pile of dirt. The man doesn't look you in the eye and offers nothing in the way of sympathy for your condition. All he wants to do is perform tests that are pricey, painful, and not needed. According to their billing department, they don't bill "globally" so a follow-up visit is another $50 or more, depending on your insurance. The estimated cost (paid up front) for my nerve block was almost $100 more than my insurance allows. I sent a letter requesting the overpayment be returned...they only cut credit checks on a bi-weekly basis. I'm waiting to see how long it takes to get my money back.
