    Better Built Companies, LLC.
We closed on our home on 3/8/2013 and Better Built was on the site at 7:00AM on 3/9/2013!! Although this was a new home for us, it was built in 1984 and was in disparate need of repair and remodeling.
Penny and Robert Guice own and operate their business so when they come out in the beginning to view the property they are the ones that will be with you throughout the entire project. They meet with you and get your thoughts and ideas of what you are wanting to accomplish. They quote/bid the job and set the budget and timeline, Penny and Robert are with you EVERY step of the way. Every question throughout the project is answered by Penny or Robert. They will hold your hand all the way through the process.
Every day I was told who would be in and out of our home and the work the crew would be preforming. Everyone that entered our home was professional, clean and respectful of our home. They were curtious and considerate.
Remodeling can be a challange since the home owner usually has a "vision" of what they are wanting, Penny and Robert were wonderful at expanding that vision and making it become a reality.
I can not say enough wonderful things about Better Built. The project was complete on 4/11/2013! This is remarkable for the amount of work that was done to the house. Whenever an obsticle would occur (and with any construction project obsticles will occur) they would already have a plan of action to resolve the issue before contacting us with the problem.
Another plus about hiring Better Built is Penny and Robert really want to help you throughout the process. Although they are not decorators or designers they will help you pick out paint colors or tile or carpet or ANYTHING you want or need help with, they will take time out of their day to help you make decisions. Penny and Robert are a wonderful husband and wife team that truly want to make your remodel process as easy and fun as possible. They always have the customers best intrest in mind.
Robert and Penny with Better Built really love what they do and it shows, they are dedicated and hard working and strive for perfection. I truly appreciate them and they made our house into a home that we love and are proud of.

    Home Performance Concepts
It was easy to get an appointment for an estimate and Jerry provided a detailed estimate with all costs and it was very reasonable compared to Efficient Attic Systems, who were twice as much. They arrived on time and I'm happy with the results, I have saved some money on my electric bill. I gave them a C on performance because when they removed the old soffit vents, some of the paint tore off with the outside vents. They didn't bring this to my attention or repair it. Additionally, and this is rather serious, when they added insulation to an attic wall they dislodged the vent/piping for our water heater. If I'm right this could have led to carbon monoxide poisoning. They also left the attic a mess, they didn't clean up after themselves. I did not follow up with them on my concerns so I don't know how they would have responded. I would use them again, but I would keep a watchful eye.

I have chosen them to do my solar panels. We are getting a good offer from another place for the solar panels. It is about a third of the percentage that it costs normally and they are offering to pay for that. It would be $125000 when put together. We are not going to be doing it right away but we will get it done probably by September. They were very competitive. They quoted us the lowest price and were the best. The panels were rated for how much energy they create. We were looking at a 180 from another company and they came up with a 230 watt solar panel and at a really great price. They also completed all the paperwork for us. They have done a really great job. I worked with a guy named Shelby. I worked with 3 different companies and Shelby?s bid was the least compared to the other companies. They are very active in Austin and San Antonio. They are also looking out to open a branch here. I told them that once the panel is installed and we see it, then we will be able to show how much energy will be saved. I also told them that we could even put it in the newspaper since we don?t have a lot of people here in my town having solar panels. We had first installed a radiant barrier. It is like a blanket and not the kind you spread. That was installed in the last week by another company and we think that there is a big difference this week. The price for the solar panel depends on the size. However, Solar Community was lower in terms of their pricing and they were good. The guy who we dealt with took time to explain when we asked him questions and to modify. We also talked about solar attic filters and I ordered those from another store for a very good price. So Solar Community is going to install those also. They were very quick and good. They were very professional too.

Energy Q LLC Radiant Barrier Installation
Mark Delgado is the owner of the company. They put in a blanket which is much more effective and it?s something new that has been created. It?s good especially for second story houses. They did a great job and the house was much cooler within two days. They first gave me an estimate on Wednesday. It cost us $2679 for about 4000 square feet. The estimate was for both tax and labor. There was a 30% off with tax credit. They were great. I didn?t compare their price with any other company. I was referred to them by one of the other people from whom I had got an estimate for solar panels and they had recommended this type of treatment. They told me that it was better than the spray and insulation. I found couple of other people with this and they were very happy. They have a really nice brochure that talks about as to how they actually came up with it. It?s a silvery kind of material and it?s not paper. It?s much thicker than paper. I am happy with the price that they quoted. It took about two day for everything to be fine. They were very quick and were here at 7 o?clock in the morning. They were very professional too. I would definitely use their services in the future too.

Overall, it went well. A sales guy comes first; looks at the windows. Gives you an estimate of the cost. If you like the price, then he schedules you in with about a three day lag. then a second guy comes and measures the windows. And then two days later he puts them up for you. I liked the price. So they came and did the work as promised and for the price promised. One small window was cracked. They promised to back out here to fix it with a few days They also have a full coverage warranty. I liked that and the good price.
