    Leak Trackers
LeakDetectors promptly scheduled with me and came to my house at the scheduled time.  I explained what I needed to have done and they agreed it was a small job that they could easily handle.  One mason got busy with the work I contracted for.  The other gentleman said that their main line of work was assessing fault points where water could enter my home and went about assessing my home.  Because my job was small, I didn't complain for him doing that (I paid for 2 men performing work for an hour each, not one man doing work while another gave me a bid on other work).  After almost an hour, I went outside to look at the work (it was fine) because I had a conference call in the next few minutes.  I will say that they did seal around my door and sidelights because they and seen that the caulk was looking ragged. I appreciated that.  What I did not appreciate was being told that I owed a $75 "materials" fee.  I informed him that I had not agreed to any materials fee and had prepaid for the work contracted via Angie's List.  He said: "I don't really know if the materials fee is listed on the Angie's List Storefront."  (Huh?  You don't know your own listing?)  When I pulled it up on my iPad and showed him there was no mention of a "materials fee," he did agree to waive the fee.  What was truly unbelievable was the "water proofing" he bid on my home was almost $12,000!  I do have a window filled house, that's true, but almost $12,000?  I could replace most of my windows for $12,000!  And the "bid" for $12,000 was on a sheet of notebook paper pulled out of a notebook (ragged edges and all), with 3 lines scrawled on it, for the Grand Total.  I was not impressed with that kind of professionalism.  Bottom line: I got the job I needed done, but because of the "materials fee" issue and the highly priced, unprofessional "bid, I wouldn't do business with this company again.  They are really looking for much more lucrative work than masonry repair work.  I wish them good luck.

Cirilo Perez Torres Stoneworks & Brick Repairs
Cirilo showed up the same day I requested for an estimate. I was able to explain the work required and he was quite thorough with the estimate.
His team of 2 came by the house 2 days later and worked quite efficiently to complete the work. The concrete matches what we have now and the team made sure that there were no problems by getting into the roof and attic and testing the work that was done on the chimney. I wouldn't be so confident today if they hadn't done the verification. Cirilo guarantees the masonry work and will come back in case of future issues up to 2 years.
Overall I would give a thumbs up for this company's responsiveness, quality and price !!!

    Brick Doctor
The service request was for patching brick work on the chimney. The estimate was done 3 weeks after it was requested (due to high volume of work they were experiencing at the time) and it was very high.
Even if we had gone through with the service we would have had to wait for 8-10 weeks for the actual work to be done.
I understand high quality and price but you have to refuse when it is too high.

    Agape Home Services
I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience with Agape was!  From the first moment I spoke with Becky on the phone, met her for the project planning, met her son Jerry for further bidding and planning, through the interactions with the project lead and employees on my project - all was just perfect.  Becky was exceptionally responsive anytime I had a question or wanted to make a change to the project (which I did several times and she never became exasperated with me at all). When the actual work began, the project lead Bill met me at the house with a folder full of details he went over with me to make sure everything was as I wanted. Their terms were spelled out in advance and I thought that was fair - everything from when I would be expected to pay for what, any supplies they needed from me, how they would handle change orders, etc. They were beyond professional - arriving on time each day, working straight through the day and leaving no earlier than 4 or 4:30. All their workers are employees - not contractors - and this shows! I wasn't living in the house while the work was being done - but even as such they cleaned up after themselves every day and were very careful to be respectful of noise or mess. My project took about 9 days. They didn't mind if I sat and stared at them while they worked - or if I never even showed up the whole day. When the work was done, Bill walked through everything with me, gave me a whole additional day to look over everything my self and give them a punch list of anything I wanted touched up or that wasn't to my liking. Funny thing was that I didn't have a single thing to add - the job had been done as requested, on time, and perfectly.  The quality of the work was exemplary.  I will admit that their quoted price was higher than any other contractor but I had a feeling that the level of professionalism, quality, and communication would be worth it to reduce my stress on this project and I was right.  You definitely get what you pay for.  Thank you Becky and Jerry.  You will be doing work for me again!!

Cirilo Perez Torres Stoneworks & Brick Repairs
Not sure I got the date of service right, but I believe it was around June 10th or so.  I called Cirillo during the extensive rains in early June.  He answered promptly and promised to come out and inspect my problem later in the week.  He did so and gave me an estimate of $1300.  We negotiated to a price of $1200. He was very busy because his jobs had all been delayed by the incessant rains. Nonetheless, about a week later, he came and completed the job over two days.  His work is uniformly superb.  My home was constructed in 1978.  The sandy brick masonry walls are nicely weathered, but the brick is soft and crumbly.  Fortunately I had about 70 bricks from the original construction that were never used. Cirillo used these bricks and matched the mortar perfectly. There is no visible evidence that I have even had to repair the walls.
I would not hesitate to recommend Cirillo.

Cirilo Perez Torres Stoneworks & Brick Repairs
Mr Perez came to my home and provided an estimate the same day I contacted him about the work. He arrived on time, completed the work as stated and it looks good. He matched the brick well, and they completed the work quickly.

    Tecton Stoneworks
Aaron and team were friendly, professional, on time and clean. They did an outstanding job. I couldn't be happier. I called 5 different vendors and selected Aaron based on responsiveness, quality, and cost. I had a small problem and Aaron came back the next day to fix one stone. A++

Have to redo over 50% of what they did on the exterior of my home. Poor application of the product, parts of my exterior are just crumbling away. Did not seal the area, have water damage inside my home due to leaks that came from behind the application. Cost me double to get the exterior of my home done beause I have to redo it!!! I could go on, but unless you can Project Manage them and know about how to seal properly, don't use them. Not happy customer.

    Durkins-Fdt Chimney Service
This began as a $99 chimney cleaning offer.  The employee actually showed up ahead of schedule, which was not a problem.  He informed us that our chimney was not in need of cleaning, but that he noticed the cracks we had on the inside of the fireplace.  He offered to apply the Deal price to the repair of the fireplace, and offered us a reflective shield for the back which would help project more heat into the room instead of out the chimney.  He said it was normally a $249 job, but would apply the $99 we already paid, and only charge $100 for the extra service.  We agreed, and he immediately perfomed the services.  He took care of all cleanup.

    Artistic Masons
I was at work, but they called when they completed the job (it took several hours) - and since I work close by, I came home and inspected it. There were two guys there, and the lead worker (really nice guy) on the job took me around the perimeter of my home, and showed me where they completed the work. They were very thorough, and the work was of high quality. In comparison to the places that Sal had shown me where work had been done before, this company's craftsmanship was significantly better. The color of the mortar matched up very closely with the existing mortar - really, unless I had known where the work was done, I wouldn't have been able to tell.
I was also impressed with the clean-up that they did. Again, very thorough. I'd definitely use these guys again - a small business with friendly, honest people? and very good workmanship for a price that I thought was fair.
