    D&C Woodworks
Work was well done. Very happy with the work that was done. We flooded during Harvey and they did the bulk of the work to get us back in our home and my family and I will be forever grateful. Thanks guys.

    Morningstar Restoration Inc.
Its with great appreciation that I recommend the work that Morningstar Restoration has done for our family. The Dickinson house had 29 of water from Hurricane Harvey. Prior to getting with Morningstar, we were only able to get some initial remediation done by other sources, and it was not done very well. After Morningstar and Luis Aguilar, Project Manager, got involved professional work began! Our situation was quite complicated, to say the least (extensive damage, someone still living in the house unadvisedly, the persons responsible for coordinating the work living out of town, etc.), but Luis was extremely cooperative in communicating with us, scheduling meetings to accommodate out of town travel, and providing samples of materials from which we might choose. Morningstar did extensive mold remediation work that enabled us to get a passing independent mold inspection prior to beginning the actual restoration work. Mr. Aguilars method of detailing the scope of work was very extensive and specific, coordinating very precisely with the system used by the insurance company. The work was beautifully done! All the cabinetry was custom made; and the floor tile installation and painting were precisely done, as well as all the plumbing and appliance installation. He was always willing to accommodate the additional work we decided to include after we saw how well his own crews (not contracted crews) completed their work. The value of the work that was done was exceptional! We did have an estimate from another contractor and know that what we got from Morningstar was substantially more extensive and superior to what would have been obtained elsewhere. It was also very reassuring the way payments were made. There was never any concern that Morningstar was going to run off with a huge prepaid amount. Fairly early on, we paid $5,000 to cover the ordering of the floor tile that would be used. After certain amounts of work were done, Mr. Aguilar would notify us that we needed to cover that work (usually a $10,000 payment). Then at project completion, the final balance was paid. Our dealings with Mrs. Mercedes Aguilar in the office were also very good. Anyone should feel confident of the work done by Morningstar Restoration and Luis Aguilar! This is an honest, competent, and skilled company that can manage an extensive project that has numerous associated difficulties. We are very pleased and thankful!

    J&D Total Home Care
J&D responded quickly by text and phone to schedule an inspection for cost and work requirements. It was agreed to for the Sheetrock to be removed, insulation to be removed, carpet with padding to be removed, all trash hauled and disposed of, two mold killing treatments, a damage report, and a repair estimate to support my insurance claim. J&D completed the Sheetrock and flooring removal with all the material stacked in front of my home. The first mold treatment was done per the business owner, Mr. Don Wilkerson. From this point Wilkerson was onto other work. I called and text messaged Wilkerson several several times asking for the trash to be removed from my yard, asking when will the second mold treatment be done and where is my insurance report and repair estimates. The trash was finally hauled away, the second mold treatment was done and I got my insurance damage report. Never received a estimate to repair the damage. J&D Total Home Care and the Owner Don Wilkerson, never arrived on time at any appointment, even had a few to many no show days, even after agreed too plans confirmed the night before. Wilkerson has a real problem making his commitments and handling follow up work appointsments. To me this is a very unprofessional manner and no way to operate a business. I strongly recommend you seek a more professional contractor!

    Woodlands Home Renovator
He is there when he says he is going to be there. He gives you an estimate on the cost of the project. He was in the range usually a little lower to the the estimate. He has a good demeanor and explains everything to you. He explains it in a way that someone that isn't handy would understand.

NIGHTMARE! RIPOFF! EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! Ryan Miller "carpenter." Agreed to designing, handcrafting and installing within 4 - 6 weeks time. Hired in March, it is not September 1st. Upon initial payment for work to be done we were encouraged to pay initial payment on entertainment center also, and advised it would speed up the process. We fell for this and paid initial payment on all three projects. Ryan brought 1/4 of the office at the end of July after months of aggregation and sob stories. At that time he collected another $1,000.00. Then he took another month off and not until August 30 & 31, did he bring the bedroom unit 80% complete and in pieces. In the process he spilled paint all over the street, worked on the unit outside in the rain. Then before leaving moved the unit to our garage and spilled white paint on our epoxy coated flekked garage floor. Might I also add that he never works before 2:00 p.m. And usually leaves by 7:00. And might I also add he has physically worked at our house a total of 4 days in the last 5 months. So I have paid in over $7,000.00 on an $11,000.00 combined project. I have 1/4 of an office with no drawers, no glass, no lighting installed, the unit is useless! I have a bedroom set which has been left in pieces and because I got fed up with all the waiting I installed the cabinets myself this afternoon rather than leave caving doors laying all over my daughters bedroom. Ryan drilled holes where pegs can be inserted and a shelf placed on top. The peg holes are not even lined up correctly on an entire side of the unit. That piece has to be replaced and redrilled in order for it to be usable. The cabinets are too short and in order for me to adjust them so that they close flush with each other there is a gap created which looks very unprofessional. He left plastic covers off of all of the electrical outlets and then shoved the unit up against all of the outlets without recovering them, and made cut outs in the unit so that later the face mount can be moved. My 9 yr old daughter was reaching her hand through one of the cut outs to turn out the light and could have severely been injured or killed. He told my wife he was going to bolt down the heavy pieces on the top portion of the unit before he left last night. He never did, and these pieces are insecure and very heavy and can fall on my children or their friends if they rough house in the room and bump into the unit. He left last night without telling anyone he was leaving. Today I received a demand letter which stated if I don't pay him an additional $1,800.00 he will not continue the project any further and will move on to other endeavors. So he wants $9,000.00 in hand on an $11,000.00 job when I don't even have one single project even remotely complete or he is going to discontinue working. He sold us on the job by offering a good deal and sweetened the deal by offering to throw in the hardware. Because he is frustrated with his progress and our empathy not meeting his satisfaction for his excuses, he has included in his letter his recanting of his offer to include the said hardware. In addition he holds me at fault for "13" NSF fees for not receiving payment on time when he was 2 months behind on delivering even a single board to our house. Says will not continue working on my job until I pay for his NSF fees. Then too add more gumption to his claim he says I need to pay him for the time it took him to design our projects! The Nerve of this guy! I'm a landscape contractor and I charge $600 to do a design for someone. If I don't charge them for the design in the beginning, I certainly don't demand compensation after the job has began. This guy is a total looser and out of his mind. Sueing him tomorrow. DO NOT USE THIS GUY! His own family won't even back him up! He acts like a druggy. He is very temperamental, a major whinner, and his business ethic is God aweful. I feel sorry for him as a person, they should be ashamed of themselves for leaving things this way.

    Evans Construction Svc
Came out to survey the project, promptly. Was a little slow to get back with an estimate. And after agreeing on a contract price of $1945, I paid $850 down to start the project. Things looked like they were going to go well. He showed up on the next Saturday, unannounced, with hi polite young son(10-12yo) in tow. So when I asked what he was doing there, as he was supposed to start Monday, he said he was just doing a double check for materials and that this job should be able to be completed very quickly because it was unoccupied, enabling him to come early and stay late with out worrying about occupants. Great!!!! I thought.... I go to work around 7:30 in the morning, he was never there when I went to work. I get home from work around 4:30 in the evening, he was there one time over a week and a half. I questioned him about the slow pace things weren't getting done, got the usual contractor response, "Well I had a couple other jobs that needed my attention", though the reason I hired him was that he had just finished two jobs and was able to dedicate himself to this job. I was unhappy with the quality of some things he had done up to that point. But then he installed the bathroom vent and cut a hole significantly larger than the faceplate would cover, I don't know what he was thinking, but I terminated him the next morning. He had "completed???" roughly $650 of the project to that point, so I agreed to let him keep the other $200 from the down payment in order to get him to sign a PAID IN FULL agreement. All I can say is Mr. Brian Evans does POOR quality work, what work was actually done.

    All American Construction
Santos is a very hard-working and honest man. I originally gave him glowing reviews on Angie's List, because I feel like he is one of the best subs I have seen during the construction of my home, pool, and landscaping my yard the last year. When I had an  issue that needed his attention, unfortunately the landscaper who hired him (He was a sub-contractor to my landscaper.) to install my flagstone pulled him off of my job and left me "high and dry" for two weeks. I then posted a negative review when I was afraid Santos would not come back to correct the problem at my house. Fortunately, he showed up this morning and has worked hard to correct the problem. I do realize he was only doing as his boss instructed him when he did not tend to my problem over the last two weeks. Would I use him again? Yes I would use him again. But I would hire him DIRECTLY and not put him in the position of being torn between two jobs. I would also recommend him if you hire him DIRECTLY. He has recently moved from California and is trying to build up his business. Since I appreciate honesty, intelligence and someone with a strong work ethic, I assured him I would try to spread the word to others who are looking for someone to do stone work or any general contracting work. He is very conscientious and wants to make sure his clients are happy. If not, he will work until they are.

    Building Line Construction
hired Dale Faltysek to remodel part of my house, after starting the project 2-1/2 months ago he couldn't seem to get back and finish, leaving my home a total mess, every week he would lie saying "I'll be there tomorrow", also i gave him $4,000 to purchase wood flooring and he will not return my call, deliver my flooring or return my money, so I am in the process of filing suit against him. I would never use him ever again!!
