Interior Painting reviews in College Station

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Pros: customer service was good, painters were friendly, and the job was able to be scheduled quickly. Cons: price was high for the quality of work that was done (fair - not great but not terrible), paint quality appears to be low grade (flaking and thin), lots of personal clean up and retouching, had to call the guys back right after job to fix a bunch of stuff (overspray on roof and gutters, patch jobs, paint on tile and cabinets, etc.) and will probably have to call again.

  • Went extremely well. The crews were very punctual and professional. Also they were willing to work around other remodeling crews. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing their house painted. Thanks Herb and Marie!

  • The job was performed on time and the finished look was excellent. Skill and experience were evident in the way the job was done. The work was also done quietly, with a minimum of disruption to the household.
    - Ruth H.
  • The painters were courteous, professional and on time. The job was done in the time frame specified. The house looks great. We had weird angles at a great height--not easy at all--and they did a fantastic job.
    - Suzanne R.
  • The outcome was above expectations and the team was courteous and quick, it was apparent that the painters were true professionals making sure they completely understood the expectations and then exceeded them.

  • The crews were always nice and helpful ( especially when i was on crutches!) If there were complications, we were given notice to reschedule. They are friendly, prompt and great to work with. They were helpful with color choices. We have used them for 2 home remodels.

  • I’ve worked with a number of different contractors here in College Station and Circle H has been the best. Jeff does a quality job, at a fair price, all with excellent reliability and great communication!

  • Jeff went above and beyond our expectations with our bathroom remodel. For starters, Jeff is extremely professional, polite and punctual. He gave us a very thorough estimate on costs and the expected time frame to complete our remodel, and kept us in the loop the entire time with any updates or changes that needed to be made. He is extremely detail-oriented and completed each and every task to the highest of standards. We could not be more pleased with his work and his outstanding follow through. Jeff is an absolute star - you will not be let down if you hire Circle H, guaranteed! We now have cell on speed-dial for any and all updates or repairs on our home or any rentals that we own in the area. If you're debating on who to hire, just save yourself the time and call Jeff.

  • I should have known better when it took more than half a year to get an estimate out of them. I had been patient originally, because I called just before the holidays, and they told me that they would not start until February. When I never got an estimate, I thought that I had misunderstood, and that they meant that they would get me the estimate in February. February came, and no estimate. I periodically sent them email, but did not receive a response until much later (probably July) when I sent one last message informing them that I had another estimate and would go with another contractor if I did not hear from them.

The reason that I let it drag out so long is that I am severely physically handicapped and struggling to deal with this was just too much most of the time.

When they did respond, they informed me that their email was down and they had computer and internet issues. They were to use this excuse three times over a period of about eight months, eventually saying that the internet, wifi, and computer were all down over extended periods of time. This began to wear thin as an excuse, especially as those three reside in completely different places and are unlikely to all simultaneously go out at once, and keep going out for nearly a year while the business owners do nothing.

It was particularly galling that it took more than a week and five emails to get the receipt out of them, something that I had been told that I would have "within 5 minutes" via email. A task of minutes took more than a week for them to do, but they had an excuse (computer/wifi/internet not working).

The work itself was of poor quality, and they simply did not finish, despite numerous requests. Specifically, they had painted the top third of the baseboard strip in the garage, but not the bottom two-thirds, had left a 1" wide white strip unpainted on the garage door trim (dark blue over white, so the unpainted strip stood out like a spotlight), had not painted the door from the garage to the house, and had done a terrible job on the garage interior. They also left the garage door itself unpainted on the interior, despite rust that we had wanted to stop.

Only when I informed them that we were going to get two estimates for how much it would take to finish the job, have another contractor finish, then sue them, did they respond and come out and finish. (They again used the no internet/wifi/computer excuse for not having responded.) Even then, they argued that the door to the house was not included, and that it would cost $300 to redo the garage walls, since they had not included the price of retexturing. This was true even though I had very specifically said that we wanted the garage fully repaired, as the wallboard tape was peeling badly. I did not want the wallboard tape simply stuck back into place with caulking, as they suggested.

They were extremely difficult to work with because of the constant procrastination, even though they knew that we are going to do major remodeling on the interior, with new paint, flooring, kitchen, and two bathrooms. I decided that I simply could not deal with the stress of a contractor with such procrastination issues for major interior renovations.

Oh, and when I told them that their rating had fallen online, they said that that was because they did not purchase as many keywords, and that the rating was a function of how many keywords you purchased. Given that other reviewers in the intervening time (I should have gone back to check again) had experienced the same frustrating procrastination, I doubt that that is the case.
