    Blessed Air & Refrigeration
HE KICKED MY 9 MONTH OLD PUPPY!!! When Terry came to my house, my 9 month old puppy was jumping up on him so he shoved her away with his leg twice! The third time, he actually KICKED her! He was in my bedroom and I saw him, and could hear the sound of his foot making contact with her! I was in utter disbelief as to what I witnessed that I was paralyzed to move! I kept doubting that what I saw was real! By the time I was going to my bedroom, he was up in the attic. At that point, I wasn't going to climb up the ladder to kick him out. When he was finished, he said "are you ok, lady?" I said, "no I'm not, you kicked my dog!" He said, "no I didn't." I told him I saw him, and he said, " she was scratching me and it hurt." My puppy was 25 lbs at the time, how bad could that hurt? I was so upset and he knew he made a big mistake. I asked him what I owed him, and he said "nothing lady, I didn't come al the way out here to upset you." Too late for that! On a prior visit, he was going to charge me $20 for a fee to put it on my credit card. Do not use this animal abusing, unprofessional man. None if this is ok in any way..

    ACAR Inc Air and Heating
Outstanding.  They were early, which was good because I had told them that a bird had died in one of my vents and was stinking up the master bathroom.  Alex Castelan made a lot of sense when he discussed possible costs and what it would take to evaluate and correct the problem.  His initial estimate was $450 but was clear that it could easily go much higher if the birds had gotten elsewhere in the attic, or if the duct work was going to be inaccessible or complex.  However, upon inspection he saw that the project was going to be close to his initial estimate of $450 and so stuck to that.  He clearly explained what he was doing and why and showed me what he was doing.  I believe he did only the work that was necessary.  I had spoken to over a dozen HVAC and duct cleaning companies, and the next lowest estimate that made practical sense to me was $1000.  Work was completed in a timely manner, only about 5 hours from knocking on my door to pulling away in his truck.  The demeanor of the work team was professional and friendly.  Alex even went an extra step and prepared a small bird house for no extra charge in an attempt to save a bird nest and the hatchlings he found in one of my vents.  I will definitely use ACAR in the future for all of my HVAC needs.  Thanks also to Angie's list for allowing me to find this gem of a contractor.

    A Affordable Appliance Services
The quick version is, my fridge was on the fritz and wasn't cooling. I knew where to go, Angie's list. Found Joe and looked at some reviews, and they were very high so I make the call. Later that day after the purchase of the service, I got an appointment the next day......this was awesome!
Yesterday was the day of service. Joe came did his magic and my fridge is working and keeping things cold.
    Joe, you NAILED IT!
I am real picky about service and Joe and his team made my day. THANK YOU SIR!

    1st Class Heat & Air
After two days of my AC barely working, I called about half a dozen companies to come out and diagnose the problem. 1st class was the only one that would come out to my house in Celina even though it was slightly out of their normal service area. Chip showed up and gave me the bad news - my 3 year old builder grade Yorks were on their last legs. He gave me some options: a $4000 band aid that would probably last between 1 and 3 years, or a completely new system. We decided to bite the bullet and get the new ones. At the time I was 9 months pregnant with the baby due at any moment, so Chip got the new systems to my house and completely installed the SAME DAY! The installation crews (yes, they sent two crews to my house) stayed until 12:30 that night to get it all done. I was very impressed with how hard they all worked to take care of us. They even gave us credit for the old units on our final bill. What potentially could have been a horrible experience turned out extremely well thanks to 1st class.

    Prosper Air
It very well. They came the same day that I contacted them. They were friendly and efficient. He took the time to answer all our questions and explain what he did and how the system worked. They were reasonably priced.

    Heat Busters
Todd gave me a ballpark estimate on the phone (which by the way, was pretty close) but came by to take a look and give me a proper written estimate. On the morning of the scheduled installation, Todd arrived ahead of the installers so he would be able to introduce me rather than just having people I'd never seen before turn up to do work inside my house. (I appreciated that - it made me feel far more comfortable about having people in the house.) Then he showed them the access points to the attic and left them to it. Before he left he told me I could call him if I had any questions about what was going on. It took a little longer than anticipated (I have an older house with lots of nooks and crannies) but it wasn't a problem, they finished it the next morning. I could feel the house getting cooler almost immediately. Very glad we had this done.

Bill Joplin's Air Conditoning & Heating
I requested Joplins to come out and inspect my heating and air units after I moved into an 8 year old house. I was previously told by Airmax (a local competitor) that I needed an entire new system for approximately $5400. Since I recently had the house inspected before I purchased it and was told the units were in good working order I suspected foul play. Joplins cleaned some of the air intakes and performed some general maintenance and also informed me that someone had turned off the breaker switch which was why my unit stopped working. I suppose it is possible that the circuit breaker flipped but Airmax did not inform me of that and then simply suggested a complete replacement. I was totally shocked by how Airmax treated me, but was relieved to find a A/C company that was more interested in helping me than in make a quick buck. I am thankful to Angies LIst for having other positive feedback on Joplins which lead me to the decision to call them after the first fiasco.

Airmax did a terrible job. I requested a simple maintenance check after I moved into a new home (resale 8 years old). I had the house inspected before I purchased it and the heating and air systems were all in normal working order. I noticed after moving in that the air was not as cold as the first night. I called Airmax out and then "inspected" they system and told me I needed a new one. My wife agreed to have them come out the next day to install a $5400 system but I called them to delay the install and told them I wanted to get some competitive bids and the manager on duty immediately said they could do the work that day for a reduced price if I agreed. I did not agree and told them I would let them know. I called a contractor I found on Angies list and scheduled them to come out the following Tuesday (it was Thursday afternoon). Airmax called again and wanted to come out on Saturday to explain a new quote so I agreed and they came out with an even higher quote for a "more efficient" system. The second contractor (Joplins) informed me that the circuit breaker was turned off and when they turned it back on and cleaned out a few return vents and oiled the system it worked like a charm and it only cost me $300 vs the total replacement that Airmax had told me I needed. I still can't believe that companies that lie like that are still in business.

Checked both systems; upon finding a filter that needed replacing, offered to order it and make another service call to replace it -- and suggested where I might purchase it and do it myself! To the penny same charge as in 2007!
