Electrician reviews in Cedar Park

  • F
We hired Gary based on his reviews and his price was over $200 less than the other estimate, so we felt very happy with our decision. He scheduled our work and told us it would take 2 days to complete. my husband was home while I was at work, so I wasn't there during the project, but I reviewed it when I got home. In order for him to replace the flooring where the wall used to be, he had to take the flooring up all the way across the room. He took the quarter rounds off of the baseboards to do this, and in doing so the quarter rounds were chipped and broken in a few places. They attempted to repair with a terrible caulking job. The nails that were used to attach the quarter rounds back to the baseboards were not below the surface of the wood, allowing for a clean patch job. Some of the nails were actually bent and folded down on the outside of the quarter round. We had to pull those out ourselves, patch, sand, re-caulk and paint the baseboards and quarter rounds ourselves. They removed the wall and replaced the drywall. The next day they sprayed the texture and replaced the baseboards and quarter rounds on the other wall where the partial wall used to be, but when I got home from work that day, after they had already left and been paid, I could see that the baseboards were set at an angle with a difference of 1/2" from one end to the other, and making them higher than the baseboards on the other side of the room. Because they cut away the quarter rounds from the baseboards and did not reset them properly, the caulking was horrendous. I called Gary and told him of this problem. He acknowledged the problem like he knew exactly why it looked that way, because when he replaced the baseboard, it was resting on top of a piece of the flooring on one end, instead of below on the other end. He said that he would come out the next day to fix it, but my problem lies in the fact that he knew what the problem was. Then why not fix it before replacing the baseboards in the first place? I was there this time to make sure things were done properly. I also pointed out the fact that they had sprayed the texture onto my curtains, the front door, the wreath on my front door and my entryway. He also cleaned out the sprayer on my grass, leaving a large area that we had to rake and clean up so we didn't have a dead patch. After he removed the baseboards and reset them to the correct level, there was a line on two walls where the baseboards had been. Some of the drywall and texture came off as well, requiring me to patch, sand and repaint. Once we finish patching, caulking and painting the final effect will be very nice, but my husband and I had to "fix" his work. This was a very frustrating experience. Gary was apologetic and did come back to fix things, but he never should have left the job that way. I also feel that he was messy in his work, and had a disregard for my property. He should have draped plastic over anything that could have been sprayed by the texture. We have several other projects that need to be done, but this left a bad taste in our mouths about hiring someone else. We will most likely do it ourselves, but if we do have to hire someone, we will not use Gary or recommend him to anyone.

    Malco Electric Inc
I called Malco Electric, the scheduler put me down for the following day. Then the tech called back, said he had a window in his schedule, could he do the work today? Of course! He was in transit about 40 min., but showed up ready to do the job. He asked a few questions, got right to the work. We're now ready for the dryer delivery

    Fixed Maintenance and Repair
Fixed Maintenance answered the call quickly and professionally. Scheduled at first availability. Electrician was early (on time), great conversation and understood the issues that I described. He checked and rechecked potential solutions, called the Master Electrician to verify a few unusual problems. Finally, he was honest that the solutions were simple and described exactly how they could be fixed. Only cost the basic "surprises". I'll use them again!

    Remedy Electric
This family owned business is well run, caring and one we will call on again! Michael was professional, and did a good job educating us on so many things we knew nothing about, working four hours until the job was done. He guided us re: what kind of blubs to purchase and why. (he wasn't trying to sell us the bulbs, he made recommendations where to buy them too.) It's a good feeling to have quality work done by knowledgeable people you can trust.

    Truetelligent Services Inc.
Great experience with Steven and his team from start to finish. Steven was responsive, had great suggestions and met all of our requests and expectations. Steven managed the entire project to completion in less than one (1) week. The agreed-upon costs were established up front and there was no scope/cost creep.

    Malco Electric Inc
Invoiced for CAT6 Ethernet but got CAT5, did not install terminators just pulled wire, Same for COAX, no ends installed. Materials were 4-5 times the cost at home depot. Much of the extra time I was billed for was for the owner and the tech deciding how much to rip me off for on the phone while I was standing there and heard the owner being very abusive to the tech. I called and emailed a number of time to schedule them to finish the job and no answer.

    Instant Repair Service
I called Ralph on a Saturday, the security light on our garage was out. He called me back the same day. I explained my situation, coming home late at night, I needed the light to work for safety reasons. Ralph came over assessed the situation, tested the light for power, checked the breaker, basic trouble shooting. He replaced the bulb after trouble shooting it first. Since it was a dusk to dawn light, we had to wait until that evening to see if the problem was solved. He told me that if the bulb replacement didn't work he would come back the next day to replace the light. Happily, the light worked that evening. I am very satisfied with his service, promptness, and attention to detail. Also, it says a lot about his character that he did his due diligence and did not over charge me by replacing a light that wasn't broken. I will call him again for my next repair.

    Russell Electric
Thomas was very polite and punctual. The day of first appointment, it was a driving rainstorm, and after trying to wait it out for 15 minutes to see if things would let up and give him access to the outdoor breaker box. We rescheduled for the following Saturday, and he arrived right on time. He installed the 240v outlet in my garage for my new EVSE (car charger). That was a flat $500 fee. Then we moved inside and he was able to installed a pair of vanity lights in the master bathroom in about an hour, which was an additional $100. All-in-all, I think it was good value for the services performed, and I am happy with the results. Thomas was pleasant and professional, and I enjoyed conversation with him while he worked. I would hire him again and would recommend to others.
