    Reyes Custom Finish
Cesar is a pleasure to work with - professional, courteous and friendly. His expertise in home renovation was apparent from the first meeting. He was always willing to share best practices with us regarding decor and materials. He was upfront regarding any setbacks (which happens in an older home), and always presented multiple options on how to address them. This is our first home, and we cannot express what his service has meant to us. He transformed our vision for our house into our home. I highly recommend his services, and we will be repeat customers in the future.

We thought the price was reasonable. He was a master at blending paint on the wall to the ceiling. We had some water damage, before we got our roof. He could blend that paint beautifully. You couldn't even tell where it was. It was really amazing. It was he and his son. He did an excellent job on that. We have nothing negative to say about him. The only thing is we've called him and left messages but he has never called back. I don't know if he is just really busy or what. We were going to have some other things done but he hasn't called back to my knowledge. When he was here he was excellent. He and his son were very very nice, very very courteous. We would definitely use him again.

Strange situation and problem, but Emmanuel tackled the job with ease. He thoughtfully analyzed the situation and came up with a solution in record time. The problem was fixed quickly. Spent remainder of hour discussing other work I needed.

I've used Mr. Reyes twice now for a laundry list of repairs in preparation for selling my house, and I'm very pleased with all work! He's well-priced, punctual and VERY responsive, which I really appreciate. Plan to use him a 3rd time.

Dennis paid his first visit and we told him all we wanted to get done. He wrote up an estimate and sent it to us. We had him do it in stages. We agreed to the prices and selected our doors and the crew got to work. They arrived promptly, were professional and efficient. It took several days for the cabinet doors to be made and stained and for the new outside doors to come in but all in all the work went swiftly and there was little inconvenience for us and they cleaned up the mess. They are professionals and yet they were friendly and easy going. And they took care not to let our dog get out of the yard or the house when they installed the front door.
We will do stage 2 in the summer and know we will be as pleased with those results as we are with what they have already done.

Called to request estimate.  Company sent a person to assess the situation.  Was thorough, looked at various options (ladder had to be installed in a very tight space), agreed to perform the work.  Comprehensive explanation of services, billing, bonding, insurance, etc.  Estimate based on man-hours to do the work:  "Probably maximum 3 hours, cost would be c. $400.  If 2 hours, more like $300.  Would rather estimate high and come in under, rather than lowball."  Workers appeared on time, completed the job in one hour at a cost of $218.

Requested estimate to INSTALL an attic ladder.  Received oral estimate of $250.  Arrived on schedule, looked at work to be done:  "Oh, I thought the job was to REPLACE an existing ladder.  This will cost an additional $100."  I declined the "offer."  Subsequently had the job done by another Angie's list provider who completed the job for $218.

    All Quick Repairs
They arrived later than promised, but I figured there would be plenty of time to do the work with two of them there. The lights, ceiling fans and GFCIs were done but the pedestal sink did not get done. There was a part that they needed to finish the job and I had to run to Home Depot to get it for them. They told me they were going to go install a light at another job not far away and would come right back. I was back from Home Depot with the part 20 minutes later, but they never came back. Called the office and the lady on the phone apologized and scheduled them to come out the next day (Saturday) at 3pm. They didn't show.
So as of Monday, I haven't heard from them. The pedestal sink is wobbly and nothing is connected (they attached the faucet hardware but the bolts to the wall are not aligned.  I called this company because they were local and also because they advertised that they did remodeling, so I figured they would be able to set the sink up properly. The bathroom light they installed doesn't align with the sink, either.
Someone else from the company came out to finish the sink. The final product just didn't look very clean - the flexible drain pipe is visible outside of the pedestal and the sink is not bolted strongly to the wall. Due to the issues we had with them, they made a deal with us that we pay for the electric work that was done but weren't charged for the sink install.
Also, we had to have an electrician come out a few months later to redo the GFCIs in the kitchen as the trash compactor stopped working after this company installed the GFCIs.

    American Home Shield Home Warranty
My warranty covers the water heater. After moving in to a new home I discovered a water heater leak. I called and was denied. My realtor new someone at American Home Shield and after further review they accepted my claim. They had a contractor come out and give me a quote which was over 900.00. The contractor added over 400.00 of labor and parts that were completely unnecessary and of course, not covered by the warranty even though they say these are necessary for the install and the warranty covers installation. They basically quoted me 486.00 to replace the copper flex hose and t&p valve. If you are unfamiliar the hose literally screws in to the pipe and then to the heater..... That's it, it is just like attaching a standard water hose. The valve comes with the heater and you just screw it into the drain pipe.... That's it, again it just screws on. I let American Home Shield know that this was the case and that I would like a different contractor to do the work. They refused and said that they would reimburse me a little over 300.00 if I wanted to hire someone myself. Even after I explained to them the dishonest practice from the contractors they still insisted that I use them. This is my first encounter with them but I will be refusing their service on this one and doing the install myself for literally less than 300.00, or almost 200.00 less than what I would pay to get it installed under warranty. They will not reimburse me for doing the work myself which I understand but no one will do the job for a little over 300.00. I will also be submitting a review on the dishonest contractors.

    Rapid Remodeling Inc

This deal was my guilt payment.  I had originally intended to use Jason for a lot of work on the 1980's house I bought recently.  He was very responsive about coming to the house and giving me an evaluation of a couple of issues that cropped up during the house buying process.  We then had back and forth email and text communications regarding the laundry list of things that needed to be done.  Unfortunately, it seemed we never had a total meeting of the minds about the statement of work* so I went in another direction.  It's possible he was relieved, but I don't know.  In any case, he was very pleasant to deal with, and I felt bad about the time he had spent going to the house and giving input so bought this deal to pay him for it.

*My business background has made me very cautious about verbal agreements
