Door Installation reviews in Cedar Hill

    Statewide Energy Solutions Inc
I'm very happy with the job that Statewide Energy Solutions did on my house. I purchased windows for the front of my house as well as a new storm door and new front door. The windows seem to be energy efficient and are larger than the windows I replaced, so more natural light comes in and really brightens up the rooms and gives them an airy feeling. The windows have a slight tint to them and blocks out heat which is important in these hot Texas summers. I was also very impressed by the care and craftsmanship of the installer who did a great job putting on the new doors and windows on my house. When the work was complete, there was no mess left behind and was left better than when he started. A very positive experience with Statewide that I hope to use them in the future

Dennis paid his first visit and we told him all we wanted to get done. He wrote up an estimate and sent it to us. We had him do it in stages. We agreed to the prices and selected our doors and the crew got to work. They arrived promptly, were professional and efficient. It took several days for the cabinet doors to be made and stained and for the new outside doors to come in but all in all the work went swiftly and there was little inconvenience for us and they cleaned up the mess. They are professionals and yet they were friendly and easy going. And they took care not to let our dog get out of the yard or the house when they installed the front door.
We will do stage 2 in the summer and know we will be as pleased with those results as we are with what they have already done.

Rick was great to work with - he handled all of the details via email, made arrangements and quote based on the photos I sent him, and was even able to come out on a Sunday to get the job handled before the painters came in.  I would recommend him for any door service you might need.

    Affordable Siding & Windows
It was an extremely stressful time when I discovered the state of disrepair of my first rental property.  The siding was extremely rotted and the window and door trim was beginning to just fall off the house.  Worst of all, the enclosed second story patio was sagging and obviously a huge liability.  I knew the whole process was going to be expensive and painful and was not looking forward to it.
I contacted Jessie (the owner) back in the beginning of August, I believe, to come give me a siding quote on my rental property.  He quoted me $8200, including tax, and told me it wouldn't go up throughout the job, that that was the final price.  He was very personal and professional.  He told me about his past work experience and made me feel a lot better about the whole ordeal.  He even quoted me on the extreme carpentry repairs (jacking up the patio, removing rotted supports, adding beefier supports and more rafters) for the enclosed patio.  This also includes a 10 year (or 15 I've already forgot) labor warranty and a lifetime warranty on the Mastic vinyl siding.
This being my first siding quote I contacted another (bigger) company on here to at least get two.  They sent a salesman out (I can't stand salesmen) and quoted the exact same quality of work (using screws, replacing rotted wood before installing the siding, etc.), except this company also was going to install a Tyvek weather barrier under the foam paneling that has to be installed under the vinyl siding.  They quoted me $17k, and wouldn't even let me keep the quote papers.  As soon as that quote was done, I called Jessie and scheduled the siding for October (the soonest he had available).
I didn't hear from him for awhile, which worried me a little.  I contacted him in September just to touch base and he assured me everything was still on track.  I knew Jessie was a pretty busy guy, but what I didn't realize was that it's just him and his crew doing these jobs, one at a time.  He's truly a small (Christian) business, and he's hands on during the entire job.
The day before he came to start the work, a storm blew a fence panel down.  The next day I went out there to give him the down payment, ready to put the panel back up.  He and his crew had been using the gap in the fence to bring in materials, and he said they would put it back up at the end of the job for me.  He even let me borrow a ladder to get on top of and inspect the roof.
He sent me some pictures along the way and entertained my many (and I'm sure annoying) texts about the job.  When I went out to inspect the final product I was very pleasantly surprised.  The thing that I had been fretting about for two months was over and it looked fantastic!  He did little touches that I hadn't even asked for like painting the front and garage doors and installed a new doorbell.  The structural repairs were top notch, permanent and made me feel very secure about the future of the house.  I spotted a small issue with wires protruding out of a piece of siding in a way that rain could easily get behind it and he came out the next week and fixed it, honoring his labor warranty.
As someone who is very loyal to a company when treated right, and who doesn't like hiring people to do work in the first place (I'm very DIY), I am extremely pleased with the quality of work done on my rental.  I know the tenants can enjoy a nicer, safer house and I can enjoy an almost maintenance free exterior.  I will be recommending and using Jessie from now on.

    Chuck Hart's Energy Connection
They provided very bad customer service. I had to call every day for two weeks and they never returned my calls. I googled the business and got a different number, they finally answered, and advised that they had been terminated from Angie's List and that he would not be able to honor the deal purchased from Angie's List, and told me that was it.

    Family Christian Doors
The installers were very prompt, and fast.  They had the old garage door off before I could say hello.
Everyone I spoke to was very friendly from the front office to the installers.

We had a new custom patio door installed from a home supply store installer.  The craftsmanship of the door was very poor, as well as the installation.  The door leaked much worse than the original door we replaced.  We ordered a new custom patio door and had it installed by Tom.  He did an excellent job installing the door.  During removal of the first door, Tom discovered rotten wood in the existing frame that the previous installer had covered up.  Tom replaced the rotten wood and installed the new door.  He also went out of his way to pick up the new door from the supplier, as well as return the defective door to the supplier.  He is very meticulous and made certain the new door operated correctly before he left.  He did not rush at all and cleaned up the work area very well when he was finished.  A few days after the installation, we discovered the door had settled and needed some adjustment.  Tom did not hesitate to come back the same day we called him to make certain the door was closing properly.  We highly recommend this service provider.

Jonathan did a faboulus job painting and repairing our master bedroom. The color turned out awesome. I am so very happy with the work. He was on time and professional, he covered all our carpet and furniture in the room so no paint or drywall would get on it. He also covered the ceiling fan when he painted the ceiling. I will refer him to my family and friends.

    Contract Labor Inc
We had a very different experience from other members.  We found this contractor very difficult to work with, although he was highly recommended to us.  The first problem was when we wanted an new patio door that was not white.  Ron said doors are supposed to be white.  After insisting, we got to see color samples, and picked a color that matched our brick.

Getting Ron to agree to install double-locking deadbolts was another major struggle.  Only after several unpleasant conversations and our signing a waiver would they install the locks we provided.

The new $2,100 door arrived with brass hinges, which clashed with all the other hardware in our home.  We had not been given a choice of hinge colors.  They promptly replaced the brass hinges.  Unfortunately, tiny 1/12 inch screws were then used on this very heavy door.  Less than two weeks later the door failed, and separated from the frame, nearly falling away from the house.

Ron did not return our emergency call over the weekend.  He did look at the door Monday, and had the hinges repaired Tuesday.

They were back out a couple of months ago to repair the door after it became difficult to use when the weather had changed.

The grout repair done with the new door installation started breaking apart almost as soon as it dried, and has yet to be repaired.  They have been notified about the grout problem twice now.

It wasn’t a good experience. They were late. I had holes in the house. They actually needed to secure the doors. We had to have the door locked. He had only couple of workers who worked for him. He sub contracted the garage door. What I was doing is just writing the blank cheques. I didn’t know who was doing the work. Their pricing was fair. I would not use them in the future.
