Juan and crew arrived as scheduled. Discussions throughout the installation were brief and few because they are, as the company name states, experienced installers. They were very courteous and very respectful of our home. They did a great job cleaning up each day. We had purchased the tile, supplies, and their delivery from another source which miscalculated the quantities needed. Juan notified us as soon as it became apparent to him a few more supplies would be needed. We appreciate the concern he showed for a situation that he and his crew did not create. We are thrilled with the installation. Without a doubt Juan and his crew have the technical aspects down pat. What raises their work to another level is an eye for design. Each large tile is unique and they knew exactly how to place each one to achieve the most beautiful outcome overall.

    Flooring Direct
I am very impressed with Flooring Direct. All their employees were very friendly, professional and responsive. When I mentioned that my older cat sometimes throws up, and the cat food stain is difficult to remove, they recommended a "speckled" carpet that will make any stain less visible, and it looks great. Their pricing is very reasonable, and the new flooring looks great.

    Texas Build Construction
Everything went well. I provided the laminate flooring and just needed someone that knew what they were doing to install it. The team that came in was very courteous and polite the whole time they were in our home. It was a medium size room and surprisingly enough it was done very precise and in a very timely manner. I will absolutely be calling Texas Build Construction back for more work in the future.

    Lawton Construction Co
Neal Lawton did a fantastic job. All of my neighbors are very impressed at how structurally solid, how professional and how good it looks. After I put the sliding glass door in leading to the balcony deck, Neal came out after and finished up matching the trimming and flashing to the sliding glass door. I'll hire Neal again this year for my carport and restain my fence.

A1 Eagle Eye Pro Contractor LLC
Bob and his crew remodeled an entire bathroom, installed new ceramic flooring in the living room and kitchen, and painted the main room area. The project took about 6 weeks, but the work was well performed and the results were beautiful. He has a good painting and floor installation team. The results are beautiful.

    Final Touch Flooring
Final Touch removed the glue down floor in our upstairs hallway that had been damaged and replaced the subfloor and installed new wood flooring we had already purchased. They also replaced most of the molding. It was a fairly small job for them and I"m grateful they did it for us because we were desperate for help when Home Depot installation services bailed on us after seeing the job (on the day they were supposed to do the work!). We were so happy with the service, work and experience with Final Touch. When we're ready to do the next big project (kitchen floors and bathroom remodel) we'll be calling Clayton!

    Final Touch Flooring
I STRONGLY recommend staying away from Clayton and Final Touch!!! There were mostly minor issues throughout all of the 6 weeks this project lasted (originally told 10 working days). Clayton has a good crew but unfortunately he's the one that ruined my experience with his company. I was willing to and did overlook a lot during the job that I normally would have found issue with (repeated delays, nickel and diming on pricing, paint throughout the house is chipped unlike any remodel I've done on numerous houses before, broken light globe, broken tile, repeated delays with materials, damaged materials) because the team was working so hard and our relationships were so good. When I selected them to do the work before we started Clayton increased the price at the last minute saying he accidentally quoted with the wrong type of wood. It was a few hundred dollars on a very large bid (21k) so I let it slide. Much later I found the same flooring from the same manufacturer for less than the 'discounted' price he gave me at Nebraska Furniture. Only a day or so into demo of the existing glue down flooring Clayton let me know that he was surprised by the type of sub floor and needed me to pay to replace it (extra $1200). That would be understandable but there were numerous spots in the living room where the sub floor was fully view-able where cabinetry had been removed and he did look at it on his first and second visit to the home. I agreed to pay the additional cost even though it didn't feel like something a pro should miss and be surprised by. During demo his full time employees were great and paid attention to the needs of the 4 animals living through the construction noise. They do also use day laborers (hourly workers picked up on a corner in Arlington) that I did find coming into my bedroom before work began in that area of the house. One also broke tile on my fireplace but he was fired and that tile was repaired. At the start of the job I repeatedly told Clayton that the only reason I was doing the job was to level out the upstairs floor that experienced settling with prior foundation work. I understood it couldn't be fully level but we agreed and he was confident he could make it totally flat (no high or low spots). They got pretty close but he wasn't able to smooth out a ridge in one area. I finally gave up and let the slight slope remain but for the price it shouldn't be there. Installation of the floors was done by two subcontractors except for the staircases which Clayton did himself with either a day laborer or new employee as he was training him while they worked. The subcontractors did pretty good work. I only noticed two small areas that the seems had separated and with some dark caulk are not noticeable. Sadly the work Clayton didn't let them do was the staircases and it didn't come out near as well. His cuts have gaps that even after filling look awful. I'm an amateur but can do a better job at fitting edges and angles than he did. It's not like he didn't have enough material to fix issues. I asked him to order 2 extra boxes of flooring in case i needed extra in the future. Somehow I ended up with 7 unopened boxes and two partially used boxes that he would not credit me for or let me return. Also, initially I had planned to tile a half bathroom but Clayton explained that wood in a half bath is done all the time and convinced me to continue the wood in that room. Once it was installed he told me he hadn't added in reinstalling the toilet and that I needed to pay him extra or call a plumber. How do you bid a job where you have to install flooring under a toilet and not plan to reinstall it??? I've done many bathrooms and never had this come up. In the other bathroom he was only removing flooring and not reinstalling. Again he said he didn't include removing the toilet so they just cut a section around the toilet since I didn't want to pay an additional few hundred dollars. I did ask for a change in the trim work on the staircase for which we did a change order for the increase in cost. I spent a weekend getting staircase skirt and molding done in time for the crew to be back on Monday. They didn't come back for many days so I pulled some late nights for no reason. I asked his crew if the trim needed any adjustments and they said it was great and they always work around trim anyway. Clayton on the other hand used the molding as a continual excuse for why he was having trouble getting the stairs right. I've since had a professional carpenter on site and he commented that the trim work was better than most he sees and the baseboards that Clayton's team installed. After seeing the price I was paying for the floor glue and doing a bit a research I was able to buy the same stuff at floor and decor for a lot less than his supposed cost at Clayton's supplier. Clayton came to me on a couple of occasions asking for an advance on payment. We had agreed 50% up front and 50% on completion. He said he was struggling to make payroll for his employees so I decided to help him out. At the end of the job I made the mistake of paying the final balance before a number of details were remedied as he said he'd send the team out the next day to finish. The floor had a lot of glue still stuck to it, the finish was cloudy from some type of cleaner they used, the baseboards were only partially caulked (claims this is something he never does but its always been included in other wood floor installs I've done), gaps in the stair cuts and different colors of filler used, a board with a finish issue, some baseboards to still install and caulk, and furniture not moved back yet. It was late and I trusted Clayton to follow through. He did send the crew back to do some cleaning but didn't want to remove all of the glue or finish caulking the baseboards. I ended up on my hands and knees over about 2000 sq/ft cleaning all of the floors myself. While awaiting the crew to return to finish the details I went to hook my home theater back up and discovered that an in wall hdmi cable had been damaged. I had warned them about it and they assured me all the wiring would be protected and fine. Clayton sent his guys to try to fix it but they couldn't. He then thought he'd get a friend to splice it somehow to fix it since its behind the wall. He messaged me that his crew would come and fix the outstanding issues the next day. They did fill the many gaps on the stairs and fix the broken fireplace tile but nothing was done about the hdmi cable. Clayton showed up later in the day and presented me with an invoice for over $1,000 more. He had previously added charges but each time discussed them up front and we completed a change order. I was really taken aback and told him I wasn't paying more than we'd agreed to. He was trying to charge more for things that were just ridiculous.....stair risers were higher than he expected (uhhhh he saw them and measured before doing his bid), baseboards were taller than expected and his saw didn't have the capability of cutting them in one pass (he was presented with a sample before doing his bid and my home depot miter saw cuts them just fine in one pass), adding expansion foam around a door (it was done the first week of the job, wasn't pointed out as an extra charge, was completed before I even knew it was occurring), moving furniture multiple times (the job was supposed to take 10 days but took over 6 weeks, i didn't request that everything be put back but the beds so we could sleep and after many weeks asked to have seating in the living room again, it was like camping indoors for months, not to mention if he'd planned to only move things once then he'd planned to store everything outside as most of the living/dining was moved to a deck). Needless to say I didn't pay the invoice and he said he understood shook my hand and said our relationship was fine and that he'd follow up with me on the remaining issues including the hdmi cable. He did make sure to point out he was positive his crew didn't do it. I didn't want to argue the point as he'd already agreed to fix it but I'm fairly certain I saw it occur. When I was working my internet connection dropped as I saw a new member of his team step on the wires. The wifi disconnected and I had to go over and reattach them. I didn't think to check for damages at the time but I would imagine this is when it occurred. I kept waiting for Clayton to fix the issue and in the meantime did some research and called some home theater experts on the hdmi cable who said there is no trusted way to repair this type of cable. It simply has to be removed and replaced. I shared this with Clayton and he just stopped answering my calls or texts. He had agreed to take care of the issue, buy a new cable, etc but just went radio silent. I've been calling and messaging for more than a month and he refuses to respond AT ALL. I asked about the warranty and the board finish issues I still have and he still won't respond. I guess he won't even honor that. I am extremely disappointed with how things went but most of all that I was repeatedly flexible and understanding but he walked away from his commitments. I don't think most people would have been near as understanding through this nightmare of a job and STRONGLY recommend finding another company with an owner that is trustworthy to give your business to. Oh and Clayton also didn't honor the discount for Angies List.

    Joe's Floor Shop
The materials showed up exactly as scheduled, the two installers came on the time/day they were scheduled. The installers were clean, pleasant, courteous and excellent installers. Our daughter actually enjoyed having them in her home! The work was finished a day ahead of schedule and the workmanship is perfect. Altogether they installed ceramic tile in a large bath area, laminate in the master bedroom, removed existing flooring in the hall and 2 smaller bedrooms and installed new laminate. Our daughter is delighted with the finished product as are we. Bottom line: Jose did what he said he would do in a timely, professional manner. We couldn't ask for a more positive experience and outcome. We would recommend and use him with no hesitation and, no, we aren't related!
