    CareNow Urgent Care
    We're usually in and out of there in an hour or two. They've got at least two doctors and a couple of nurses. Their staff is very good. They're very attentive. They can be slow when they get busy, which is standard for an urgent care place. But generally, you're in and out. You can go in and check in and leave your phone number and they'll call you when they have an opening for you to come back in. You don't have to wait in the lobby. That's extremely convenient for an urgent care type of place. You're always going to have a line there. But, you don't have to wait.

    I don't ever really want to go back. The doctor decided that he knew more about everything in life than I did and was quite condescending. It was not entirely the staff's fault but two of the doctors over there. The office staff, working in the front counter, were actually fairly nice. The nurses and the doctors were quite rude. Everything was always taking longer than it should have. The doctors and the nurses, neither one, was very good at communicating. They were actually pretty good about the billing and the other stuff. Those people actually knew what they were doing. As a matter of fact one of the doctors was quoting me DOT regulations that didn't exist.

    They almost bankrupted me. The service was good but the bill was $34,000. The thing is that it wasn't my expectation. They should say I am going to spend $14,000 for this MRI. Maybe they should tell me before I spend $14,000. I don't mind paying for services but they could have at least told me the cost of the services. Their response was that they didn't want anyone to make a medical decision based on the price. After some negotiation, they negotiated down to $5,000 or $6,000. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the bill. They should have told me that we were spending that kind of money. The actual medical service was good, but the fact that they didn't tell me what the price of anything was until after they gave me the bill was terrible. The fact that they negotiated the bill was still extremely high for what they did. I wouldn't spend any of that money if I did know. I'll never set foot in one of those ever again if I know the cost.

    They have a 24-hour service. It's always a good service. They carry a variety of things in the store which is also open 24 hours. I've just always had good service there. They're friendly and they're accurate. The only one complaint I have is that sometimes slow with the pharmacy because there's a long line to wait. It's worth the wait.

    Harris Methodist Hospital
    This was an outpatient gallbladder removal with a local general surgeon. The staff at Harris Methodist on the day of the surgery was great. Every person I dealt with did a spectacular job. I was kept very comfortable. My surgeon was a little behind, but I had an afternoon surgery so I expected that. The desk nurses were nice when I would ask for updates on his schedule. The Harris staff was all punctual with their tasks. The pre-op nurse did great with my I.V. insertion. The recovery nurse was also great and helped me get ready to go home at the pace I needed. I rate the out-patient surgery experience an A.
    The only issue I have had was with the Business Office rep that called a month later to set up a billing plan. She was very rude and pushy despite the fact I told her my bill would be paid in full within one month. I can imagine her reducing a young, financially-struggling person to tears with her methods. I emailed my payment plan to the business office and never received an acknowledgement or response. The Business Office should invest in some sensitivity training to teach these people to communicate without intimidation. I'm sure they are not all like this rep, but this experience soured an otherwise good experience.

    The experience at Ron's Apothecary Shop was good. My sister went in to get the medicine for me, while I waited in the car. Everything went smoothly. The medicine was correct.
