    South Austin Appliance Repair
    Two days later the fridge was not cooling again. I called them and they returned to diagnose it and determined it that they had missed a component part ( fan) and that they will order it and return to install it and complete the repair job. It has been three weeks since the part was ordered and they have not returned to finish the job. We have called them several times and even went to their location and left a note to call us to no avail. I would not use this company ever again and will not recommend it to anyone in the South Austin, Kyle, and Buda area.

    Installer burned up the electric plug while installing. The installer told me I would need to call an I did. The electrician replaced the plug. The appliance store brought a new dryer because the old one had a burn mark from the spark of the plug. Installed it. It worked fine. They refuse to pay for the electric bill which was $200. They also will not return my calls. My land lord hired the electrician who is asking me to pay the bill. When I call they are very rude. I had to call on an unknown phone before they would even pick up. The owner refuses to speak to me. The appliances work fine but the service is awful and the customer treatment is even worse. They ignore you.

    SAAR was not the first repair company I called about my washing machine. To cut a long story short, the first company tried to rip me off by misdiagnosing the problem with my washer as a bad control board to the tune of $250. I decided to discontinue doing business with the first company because of their poor customer service. I still didn't know that I had a perfectly working washer. I contacted SAAR. I was pleased with them at the beginning, because they worked around my schedule. My appoint was on a Saturday. The technician was running late because his previous job ran longer than expected. I was just happy he fulfilled his commitment and showed up and didn't blow me off. because I was desperate to get my washer up and running again and he

    The next day Tim calls to tell me he has ordered the control board and should arrive next week.    I asked him for the cost of the control board and labor.  He quoted me $250.00.  $140 for the control board and the remaining amount is labor.   The part arrived and Ronnie (Tim's wife and scheduler) put me on the schedule. After leaving work early and waiting 2 hours for Tim to arrive, Ronnie called informing me Tim will not be able to make it to my house. He was working in North Austin and his previous appointment lasted longer than expected. For some reason, Ronnie thinks it's a good idea to schedule far North Austin and Buda/Kyle customers on the same day. However after some thought and annoyance, I called her back and left a message explaining to her that I will no longer need her services.   The lasting impression she gave me from her communication was I work around her time and my time isn't as valuable as hers. .   Despite my experience with T&P Appliance, it was the best thing that happened to me!   Because the next day, I called South Austin Appliance.   They actually try to work with your schedule so that was great.  The technician arrived at my house.  He looked at my washing machine.  After inspecting it, he said there is nothing wrong with this washing machine.  Your control board is perfectly fine.  He removed the panel in the back of the washer and showed me the green light.  He told me to put a load of laundry in the washer and start it.  I did and it worked fine.  He told me after a power surge to unplug the washer for an hour, plug it back in.  It will reboot the washer.  I should only call him if after I reboot it, I get a F# error.   The visit cost me $80.   So for two weeks, I thought my washer was broken.  I was so disappointed that I could have paid $250 repairing a perfectly working washing machine. And would have been none the wiser!

    Tony was scheduled to come in the afternoon but surprised us with a text to let us know he was ahead of schedule and could come within a hour.  He arrived and was so personable and professional and immediately looked into our dryer and found we had a blown out fuse.  He took the time to explain his assessment of why this occurred and provide us recommendations on how best to maximize the efficiency of our dryer including checking our air ducts.  Aside from Tony's high level of professionalism, as a Deaf couple we were very impressed with his patience and willingness to go the extra mile in communicating with us and ensuring we fully understood what he was sharing with us.  We asked for Tony's card as we learned he handles repairs for all appliances.  Thank you Tony for removing the stress and allowing us to enjoy this holiday season!

    Jim The Happy Handyman
    This is my second time using Jim the Happy Handyman.  His hourly rate might seem a tad high but take my word for it, he is so fast and efficient that you get a good bang for your buck.
    I bought a new dishwasher that the delivery guys couldn't install because, as it turned out, my hot water valve was not the correct one for both sink hot water and the dishwasher. I called my plumber to see how much he would charge to get the valve replaced and the dishwasher installed. He gave me an estimate of $130. Knowing I had a few other things around the house that needed to be done, I decided to buy three hours of Jim's services instead. So for not much more than the plumber's estimate, I got a bunch of  things taken care of, in addition to the installation of my dishwasher. Yeah Jim!
    He is incredibly fast and very professional. Only downside is that he is so popular (because he's GOOD!), you have to wait until he has an opening .... his schedule usually doesn't have openings until a month out or so out.
    He carries what seems like an entire hardware store in his truck/trailer and any part you don't have, he probably does.  He had to pull a few items out for my job and he didn't gauge me on those parts.

    Arrived within 2 hours of first contact. He was in line at the DMV with his daughter trying to get her driver's license. He charged $75 total to make the service call, troubleshoot and find the defective assembly. He found another part and allowed me to order it direct from the distribution facility ($200) and he came back to install it for free when it arrived. Very professional and understanding.

    I was really impressed with them. They looked  at the freezer more particularly the thermostat and the freon. They said it wasn't worth fixing and recommended that I get a another freezer. They were not out here to to try to fix something that would come down later on. They weren't able to make it on Monday when they were supposed to and they didn't call to let me know. When I called them and we set up the next appointment, I was the first. Their pricing was good.

    It has been a good experience. I've used them several times for different things and they have always been courteous and polite and taken care of us. It didn't take long and I was able to dry my clothes. Every time they've been here, they have fixed what was broken. They have always been neat and clean. If they made a mess, they cleaned it up. They were thoughtful of my house.
