  • The office was clean and very busy. The staff was amicable. We were seen later than our appointment time. They talked the boys into services they did not need. This caused our out of pocket to be far more than anticipated. My sons at the time were 17 and 20 years old, apparently old enough to make such choices without my approval. I had not anticipated paying that much at those visits. | |I had not visited that office in many years due to a similar experience the last time we were there. It was unfortunate to see their practices had not changed. | |I would not recommend them nor do I plan to visit again.

  • My experience was excellent. My friend Evelyn was going to nursing school and she was in the OR for a week. He had an eye surgery there and she was one of the nursing assistant. She said he is the most professional and he is the greatest thing and a wonderful doctor. When I had to go to the eye doctor I thought I will give him a shot. He was everything that she said he was. He was very good. His bedside manner is excellent. His staff is real friendly. He schedules me for this and that and he found something that bothered him a couple of years ago. I had cataract and it was baffling him because it didn't grow. He can't take them because they are too small and they are not bothering my eye sight so he said we will leave them alone. He found something in there that he worries about is glaucoma. I got to see him every six months because it might lead to glaucoma. He says I got to keep an eye on it and he didn't want me to go blind. I was supposed to see him on first of this month and I over slept and they reschedule and I forgot about it as I didn't put it on my calendar and the next one is in August and I don't dare miss this one or else she will charge me but that's fine as it is all my fault. The office environment is very good. They are very friendly. He is very good

  • I had to wait a little, but the overall experience was so great that I didn't mind. He took a lot of time to look at the interior of my eyes for diabetic changes. He was calm and gentlemanly and his staff was very nice. I'm so glad I found this office.

  • Amazing: Dr. Riggs performed the surgery. He is very skilled and is to be commended on his professionalism. My distance vision is back to 20/20. I only need 1.25 glasses for reading and working at the computer. I highly recommend Dr. Riggs and the entire Texas Regional Eye Center staff.

  • I'm at that age where walking in an office and getting a prescription for a pair of eye glasses just isn't the in and out thing it used to be. As a matter of fact, I struggled for a number of years to get a pair of contact lenses that would address my vision issues without having to settle for less than ideal vision. Enter Dr. Maggs, who took the time to find the perfect solution to my individual mixture of vision issues. I love his calm demeanor, quiet sense of humor, and absolute professionalism.

  • I am a professional and I hate wait time. Too often I would have to wait over an hour after my appointment time to see my physician.
My company was with them for over 20 years.
I probably would have stayed with Scott and White if not for them pricing there health insurance out of the market and their billing system wasn't so screwed up.
By far, the biggest complaint I had with them is there billing system. It is horrible. Almost every time I was over billed by "Scott and White Insurance". This problem was a nightmare for my employees too. The amount of time it required to straighten out bills was ridicules.

  • Overall, my experiences with Dr. Marr and his staff have been outstanding. I have come to expect above average service every visit because he set the gold standard for eye care and continues to deliver services at that level.

  • The wait was longer than expected about 20 minutes.  The staff was friendly, but not as helpful as I would have liked.  The treatment was not effective at all.  I was disappointed that there was a charge for the follow-up.  The optometrist then said she couldn't help my daughter and sent her elsewhere.

  • Dr. William Marr

We really like Dr. Marr, he is very friendly and very thorough. My husband and I go to him. I started going to him because I had a problem with my eye and where I went told be to wait or go to the hospital so I went to Dr. Marr, and he took me in that day.

  • The process of making the appointment to billing was very easy. The staff, from the front desk to the assistants to the billing window, are all helpful. My wait time was about 20-30 minutes, which obviously depends on how busy they happen to be at the time. The assistant will do initial screenings and exams before Dr. Allison comes in. Dr. Allison have very good "bedside" manners, and it's always a pleasure to talk with him. I would highly recommend Texas Regional Eye Center and Dr. Allison. I would continue seeing him, but they don't accept my new optical insurance company (Spectera). TREC is so helpful that they even recommended another optometrist that would accept Spectera.
