    We did a complete remodel of the house. We considered a tear-down, but my wife loves this house so we did a remodel. And let me distinguish between Lowe's and the workers who did the work. The workers did excellent quality workmanship--which is why we gave quality an "A"--and they hated Lowe's too; late getting paid, last-minute scheduling, etc. FYI, I have 17 years in construction lending; I know what a proper estimate should look like and is acceptable by the lending industry. Lowe's has NO clue! 1) NO written estimate for any portion of this job. Their explanation? "We just give you a lump sum figure". For a $200,000 remodel??? They adamantly refused. Finally, after badgering for months I got a slopped-together jumble of undecipherable papers that I doped out some figures. 2) Massive over-charging for interior painting; $20,000 reduced to $5,000 when I complained. 3) Massive over-charging for Hardie-Plank siding; $80,000 for a 2,700 sf home? After I complained, cost was reduced to $45,000. (I must be fair and say the workmen were superior; tear-down the old, put up the new in 10 days, the work was PERFECT!!) 4) Near-custom kitchen cabinets were ordered incorrectly 4 times. And we never did get what we ordered, we finally said screw it, we'll keep what they sent. Redesign of the kitchen layout was not what we asked for. And no adjustment on price. 5) $4,000 for a shower door. Seriously? We chose a different one for $700. 6) We decided to change the flooring material and the guy from Lowe's comes out with two samples and could not quote prices on any of it. What salesman goes out to a client meeting unable to quote prices???? GAH!!!!! A waste of our time. 7) Schedules were not kept, workmen came and went as they pleased with no communication at all. They showed up when it pleased them. BUT...they did good work when they were here. There is just no portion of this project that was done in a professional manner by Lowe's. We would walk through the house with the salesman detailing what we wanted and he took no notes. Wrote nothing down. I challenged him on that, and only then did he pull out a pen. When this torture ended we asked for a reconciliation of the financials and they basically refuse. We are going to have to take it to arbitration. I am used to detailed materials and cost estimates, down to the board and nails. Lowe's only gives lump-sum estimates. They told us "We'll eat any changes or unexpected problems". NOT TRUE! We got invoices reflecting changes. I could sit here all night describing our nightmare. Suffice it to say Lowe's is just the worst. They use a 1980's DOS-based construction accounting system that is impossible to navigate, which is one reason they could not give us written estimates, yet they seemed able to demand more money when they determined costs went over their "estimate". No 3-D design software, no on-site estimate capability, etc. etc. Amazingly, the work was superior. No complaints about that at all. In fact, we grilled burgers for the siding guys because they worked really hard in 100-degree-heat and did an excellent job. But Lowe's remodeling division is run by the Three Stooges. Idiocy prevailed throughout all facets of our interaction with them. I wouldn't have them build me a doghouse. And we are still going to have to bring this to arbitration to force them to provide a cost reconciliation. Do NOT let Lowe's run your remodel. You are forewarned!

    Mr. Brown came within a halve hour of being called to fix an ac that had went out. Told me exactly what was wrong and Was very professional. He fixed my ac and It has been running like new ever since. I have called him various times since for several miscellaneous repairs and every time he has shown up quickly and been very professional. I would highly recommend him for any repairs needed. Fair pricing and great work. I will not use anyone else.

    I am writing this letter to thank your company, A&A Construction, Adrian Vargas Owner, for the job well done on finishing my house located in Riverside Grove. Within days of the construction project, A&A Construction has shown diligence and dedication to finish work on time, which greatly benefits the selling of my residence. Your attention to detail and the specifics of the construction as well as proper scheduling has been very remarkable, resulting to a job well done. It is refreshing to still find a company in construction which is fair, honest, and conscientious.     This is the second house Arnold Trejo and his crew have painted for me. As always, his work is immaculate and performed in a timely manner. His prices are very reasonable and I won't hesitate to use him again! In fact, he will be painting the exterior or my house next.

    We had an appointment with a specific sales rep to meet about our door and what we wanted. He showed us his catalog but we didn't see anything we liked so mentioned one that we had seen from an Oregon vendor. He took a look and downloaded/printed the catalog. We looked over the catalog and made the choices and he was going to get back to us with a price.

    The next day he called and gave us the price, and said 6-8 weeks for delivery.  We said okay, go ahead as we currently have a barricaded front door so please make this a priority if possible.

    Almost six weeks had gone by and we decided to call and check on it. After some telephone shuffle we found the door had not even been ordered yet! So here we were expecting a door soon and to find out someone had dropped the ball and had not even ordered it.
    They promised they would get it ordered that day.

    The next three months were a myriad of phone calls and excuses as to why the door wasn't here, both by Stock, and the door manufacturer itself.  

    One of the largest frustrations was, we would call the salesperson who we were dealing with and he would always say "I haven't heard anything from them but will check and call you back". Usually the call never came, and we started calling the manufacturer ourselves to get answers.
    Then they called us and told us the door had shipped!  We were so excited.  It was getting very old not having a front door for this long.
    The door arrived and to our dismay, it was damaged. Not by shipment, but by careless packaging at the manufacturer.  Supposidly Stock was going to work with the manufacturer and get the door sent back.  We called exactly a week later and the door had not been shipped out yet..Again more excuses.

    Finally the door shipped out and about ten days later we hadn't heard anything do we called, and as usual they had no answers. We called the manufacturer and yes, they had the door but said that Stock sent a seven foot door poorly packed on a six foot pallet which caused some further damage..Patience getting very thin at this point. This is a $6500.00 door we are talking about, not a cheap door.

    They said they repaired the door and shipped it back, so now we wait.  Two weeks after it shipped we called and spoke to the salesman, "no, we haven't seen it. You know it's a long way from Oregon" Really?  Okay, do you have tracking? Nope..
    Another call to the manufacturer and they have tracking, and guess what?? It's been sitting at Stock for  a week!
    Okay, patience just now ran out.  Another call to Stock and the door magically appeared and was sent the next day to the cabinet shop for finishing.  The door was installed almost six months to the day after the Bastrop fires.

    This entire process took over five months. Six months with a boarded up door, and they knew the situation we were dealing with from the very beginning.

    Our home was damaged during the Bastrop fires by a fire fighter who kicked our door down. As a result the door, door frame and flooring were damaged. Not being happy with what the original builder had done we took the opportunity to upgrade the door to a complete door/sidelight/transom assembly to replace our single door and three windows. We found and ordered the door from International Door and Latch and set out to find a contractor to do the work. Maurice (pronounced and quot;Morrisand quot;) Graber was recommended to us by one of our well trusted contractors so we gave him a call. He quickly came over and looked over the situation and gave us a very fair quote. We then suffered a six month debacle between the manufacturer and the local company we ordered the door from but Maurice was patient. Initially the door was received damaged which required even more time lost.
    Once the door arrived, he has us deliver it to a cabinet/finish shop he uses where this guy put on the finish. When that was done, Maurice delivered it to our house on a Monday, and he and his team arrived early Tuesday morning and proceeded to work. First thing they did that impressed us was to tent the entryway to keep bugs/dust and whatnot out of the house. They carefully removed the faux stone from around the door and proceeded to expand the entire door opening in the wall. This was all done mostly in the same day with only some touch up and finish work the next day. The end result was amazing. His trim guy matched the complicated trim that was in our house exactly and the door looks as if it has stood there the whole time.
    His company works under old world ethics which you don't see much of anymore. Always on time, polite, fair and does an amazing job. He definitely puts pride in what he does. We have already commissioned him to build a deck on our front porch.

    I had to go back in and re-do a lot of the work he did. The door jams he put in were crooked and there was a lot wrong with what he did. I gave him an opportunity to fix it but he wanted to charge me more money. He walked off the job and put me behind schedule.
