The staff feel passionately about animal wellness as exhibited by their caring and professional attitudes. The veterinarian understands the specific concerns of aging and terminal dogs. Her face lights up everytime she performs a wellness check on one of my old dogs, and I see that she has the heart for her patients and her work.

Jessica and Chris are amazing! We are very protective of our dogs (really our babies), and only want the best for them. We found out about Jessica and Chris through a mutual friend and met with them to introduce them to the "kids" and our routines. Both were very professional and took extra care to make sure our boxers were comfortable with them. Jessica even sat in the floor and bonded with Riley! Riley is our shy boxer and is very hesitant with strangers. Within minutes Jessica had her doing the "boxer wiggle!" With 5 Boxers and a Pomeranian, you can only imagine the work for a pet sitter. Chris and Jessica never skipped a beat! They treat each of their client's "babies" as they would their own. We are incredibly lucky to have such amazing people in our neighborhood to help with our animals.

The one I go to are very good. I take the dogs there for their grooming also. I got a date to get them groomed Wednesday. They get done about every 6 weeks. I have been using them for the past 5 years. I would give them an A because I have 2 dogs that are getting old. I took one in about 4 weeks ago. They gave him medical. I like using this particular one. I have never had a problem with them.

They are friendly. They are very caring and they take good care of your animal when in their care. They treat them like their own. I normally make an appointment a couple of days in advance and get right in.

Dr. Stramel is wonderful. He's been able to significantly improve the quality of life for our dog when we were afraid we might have run out of options. He's given us at least another year with her with we really value. For the care that we've received, his prices are very reasonable, similar even to what you might find with a regular vet. He's very caring and really listens to what you're saying. He re-assesses at every visit to adjust the care if necessary.

Lately our dogs have been getting sick, so we have been visiting the clinic pretty often. If it's a recheck on the same animal for the same issue, the fee is only $26.00. The staff is very kind, professional and handle our dogs very carefully and our animals are very comfortable with them. Dr. Beall is very knowledgeable, thorough and is also very nice and kind. She takes the time to explain everything to us and we feel very comfortable with her. I've taken my pets to other vets but feel most comfortable taking my pets here. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is a pet lover. I cannot say enough good things about this clinic.

This is our full story ...
Lucy was staying at Paula's Canine Academy while we had work done on our home. Around the 2nd or 3rd day of her stay, she was attacked by another dog in the presence of the facility owner. I was not notified, and she was not taken to a vet. Her wounds became infected, and many days later when the facility owner noticed this, she again did not call me or take Lucy to a vet, but instead took it upon herself to administer antibiotics to Lucy.
Paula is not a physician or a veterinarian and had no idea what Lucy needed for her injuries. She cannot legally administer medicine without a license, but that didn't stop her.
When I picked Lucy up 9 days later, I was only then told what had happened. Lucy was acting strangely and started wailing and drooling when we got her home. We rushed her to the Denton Animal ER right away, as she was becoming limp in my arms.
She had become septic, her blood sugar was too low to even read, she had lost a tremendous amount of weight, and she was severely dehydrated - all according to her medical records from the ER. They worked for 6 hours to save her life, including intubating her, putting her on a ventilator and reviving her after she went into cardiac arrest 3 times.
In the end, she succumbed to the infection, which had swollen her brain and was shutting her kidneys down. She had no pre-existing conditions, and was a perfectly healthy, normal dog. Both the ER vet and our regular vet are completely appalled at the behavior of the boarding facility and encouraged me to pursue this case so that this never happens again.
This boarding facility's negligence occurred over and over again during my dogs' stay - and Lucy paid the ultimate price. I was not told one time during her stay what was happening, and Lucy was never taken to a vet. The ER doctor told us that, if we had picked up Lucy a day later, she would have already been dead.
Not only did this facility's gross negligence result in our dog being taken from our family, but they took away our opportunity to even make the decision for Lucy to see a vet, by the fact that they never called once to let us know what was happening.
BEWARE of Paula's Canine Academy and any place like it where your dog is allowed to interact with other dogs. It is more "fun and outdoorsy," but they are just not safe.
What makes matters worse is that our other dog, Stella, was also attacked and had multiple puncture wounds all over her face and body, but the boarding facility never even noticed and had no idea about her injuries when they gave her back to me.
Thankfully, Stella is going to be OK because her wounds did not become infected and she has now received proper veterinary care. If her wounds had also become infected, I would now have 2 dead dogs because I was never notified of Stella's injuries and she was never given any medical care.
It is my hope that this will never happen to anyone else. The pain of losing a dog in this way is unimaginable. It is truly a dog owner's worst nightmare when they board their pet, and it could have easily been prevented.

I’ve been using them for over a year and half. They get to know your pet and my Yorkie just loves going here! They are very clean and they keep my dog nice. I do think their pricing is a little high but their groomer, Melinda, is wonderful!

You can't get any better than Companion Pet Sitting. She has been with our family for over 6 years and has been invaluable in taking care of our family members. She has been there when our GSD counter surfs and gets into something that is not good for her. She leaves daily notes on how the visit went for that day. When we lost out Golden due to cancer in January, she grieved just as we did. He was such a joy for us during the time we had him and she made an extra trip to take pictures for us before we relieved him of his pain. Sheila loves what she does and we have been so fortunate to have her with us. She's reliable, very involved in providing a service she loves and is very very good at. I would recommend her to any and everyone.

We are VERY picky about our veterinarians. Because I've worked in the veterinary industry, I feel like I know what a high level of care is, without being "taken" by vets who offer tests to worried pet owners that are unnecessary and unhelpful in diagnosing the pet's ailments. Dr. Paben was wonderful. She was friendly, she listened to our concerns and understood our need to treat without doing tests that would not help our 16 year old pet's health. She also had a senior age dog. We knew what our pet's issue was and was able to describe it to her and she prescribed the medication we needed. The cost was reasonable and she had some options for payment in the event that we DID need to do more expensive tests or care. Our dog was a new patient so his first exam fee was waived. We will definitely be back to visit her.
